Very professional and knowledgeable staff. We brought a prospective car here on the recommendation of our neighbor to get checked out before we made the decision to buy. They took us in as a walk in same day, Justin looked at the car and gave a full diagnosis that day. He was very friendly and explained everything in a way we could understand. We will definitely make John s Automotive our go to for car repairs moving forward.

This is BY FAR the absolute best mechanic shop I have ever used. The staff is friendly and informative and the mechanics are competent and timely. Almost every car I have ever brought them has been ready the next day. They are affordable and provide excellent customer service. I m extremely grateful to have found a local mechanic I plan to depend on as long as I reside in San Diego. Highly recommended!!! Five stars!!! Ryan, Brian, Peter

Very PROFESSIONAL and HONEST folks here! I had a couple of questions about my car earlier this week. Called John's and tried to give my own non-professional opinion about my car, that didn't work lol. I spoke with Justin who politely told me to just bring the car in. I waited til the next day and got there early. I spoke with Justin who broke everything down to me. Come to find out, I didn't need an extensive amount of work done like another business suggested. While waiting, I had a nice convo with another employee named Patrick. Definitely a pleasant experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I'll be coming back for sure, thank you!!!

Had service done on 1/19 on my old Honda Odyssey for a number of issues they've identified in a prior visit (some of which worsened since that visit). Prior to the visit Mathieu walked me through the estimate for each of the items I requested to be addressed, and considering the number of items requested we prioritized which should be addressed on the 1/19 service and items I can have addressed later on a future visit; that in and of itself is very appreciated. Brought the vehicle in for the service that morning and the service was completed in the afternoon, done right. Will definitely go to them for future service needs.

If you are looking to get a problem solved the first time, that is my experience at JOHNS. They will not be the lowest price, however the sweetness of an initial lower price is quickly replaced by frustration by multiple repairs to eventually fix the issue and costing much much more. I m not difficult to please, done correctly the first time is all I ask. Something I did not experience at the Cadillac Dealership.

Bryan, Patrick, and another gentleman I didn t get the name of, were phenomenal. They gave my kid a toy and a snack before helping me, which made it much easier to talk to them. They were extremely patient and kind with all my questions and bad news about my car. Would 100% go again for any of my car needs!

I ve had an ongoing problem with my 2014 Jetta, that problem being myself because I m a busy, scatterbrained, terrible VW owner. (Pssst don t buy a VW if you re used to owning indestructible Hondas and Toyotas that don t require special everything.) Matthieu fit me in the same day and dealt with the problem without making me feel like the terrible car owner that I am. John s uses software where all of the diagnostic results are sent via email and are easy to read. Super glad I found this place!

I m so pleased with this shop. I took my vehicle to my normal mechanic (Aero Auto on Navajo and Lake Murray) and did not agree with their assessment. My father in law advised me to check out John s and boy was I impressed. Mathieu helped me out and he made a stressful situation turn into a breeze. By taking my car here they saved me over $2,500 in repairs that the other shop thought I needed needless to say I found my forever shop. Office was nice and air conditioned, snacks and drinks available while you wait, lovely conversations with staff members. I didn t even have an appointment and they took care of me as if I was family. Please don t go anywhere else except John s Automotive or you will be sorry.

I found out about this place by looking in the Santee Facebook page and I'm glad I found this place. I went in for brake issues and after they inspected my brakes they determined I was good. Most mechanic shops would take you to the cleaners but they were honest and said that I was good and didn't need to change them. I went ahead and changed them anyways. Everyone in there were super friendly and welcoming. They definitely earned my future business. I know this is a long review but its hard to find a decent mechanic shop that won't nickel and dime you. If you need help with your vehicle call John Automotive and ask for Mathieu he will definitely take care of you.

Great experience, I took my 1995 Jeep Wrangler in for a significant oil leak. The initial diagnosis was done and a quote given which I accepted. After further diagnostics they discovered it was actually a different issue. The actual fix was 50% LESS than the initial quote, problem solved for much less money, who wouldn't be happy.

I was 1/2 mi from the shop when the fuel pumps cut out. After a panicked call, they had a mechanic with scanner there. 10 min later the issue was diagnosed and a tow truck was already on its way. It was not a cheap repair (BMW), but they handled everything and had the car back on the road in a few days, mostly waiting for parts.

Rick and Matthieu were both super helpful and efficient. I expected my car to be there most of the day, but they were done way before I expected. They didn t try to recommend things that I didn t need like some other places do. Fast and honest service just like the other Johns Automotive locations. I would definitely recommend them to a friend!

Great customer service. I have had service done at three of their locations on two vehicles over the years. The front staff and the mechanics have been upfront, honest, respectful, understanding, supportive and helpful.I very much appreciate the detailed work inspection results detailing items in three categories that also include photos of each part that needs attention and or replacing.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

Great service. They gave me a lot of time and answered all of my questions in detail. The used car inspection was very thorough with pictures of everything and explanations. Would definitely recommend a friend going here and will be back for future repairs!
