Stopped by to try out the restaurant and was not disappointed. Their prime rib dip special is awesome, would recommend if it s available. Now I know all about the camp ground as well, will definitely come back to stay some time soon. Seems like a great place to bring your family for a vacation.Walkability: Decent amount of walking distance between the campground and restaurant/gift shop. Great for an after dinner walk back to your campsite.Food & drinks: Food is great and not too expensive, good selection as well. Nice bar within the first train car as well.

This was a great evening. The food and service were fantastic and great nostalgia live music. We loved the concept of dinning on a train. We walked around the resort, and each hotel experience is a separate rail car. We could barely see inside the rooms, but what we saw it looked great. The next time we go we will probably stay overnight.

Absolutely loved this place. We stopped on our way to and from Disneyland and the kids can t stop talking about this place, and neither can I! The staff was amazing, the food was hands down the best I ve had and the drinks were delicious as well. The cabooses we stayed in were beautifully kept with plenty of space for everyone in our family of 6, and the claw tubs were so lovely to soak in. We can t wait to go back!

We stopped on our way to Elmer city Washington. Purchased train car letters to spell out grand daughters names. Then we stayed and had a very pleasant lunch. The views there is absolutely amazing. We are planning another trip but this time we are renting us one of the old caboose rooms. Very unique and everyone we spoke to were very nice. I recommend Railroad Park Resort And Dining Car Restaurant. Excellent food.

I was there last week while skiing at MT Shasta. We stayed in Cabin #4 and it was beautifully redecorated. Breathtaking view of Castle Crags and Mt. Shasta. For those that like to hike, Moss Brae and Hedge Creek Falls are nearby.Meals in the Dining car with friendly staff and servers is my favorite place to eat. They have a nice dog park and playground for the kids.We frequently stay in the RV sites. They are nice, clean, well maintained and not too close together. Staff is always available to lend a hand if needed.I highly recommend Railroad Park. a special thank you to the owners and staff for making this such an enjoyable place to visit.

Absolutely magical! Stayed 2 nights and can t wait to come back. The caboose room was so cozy and the bed was so comfortable. I slept 12 hours! Beautiful location with views of Castle crags. Loved having coffee in the loft in our room. The dining car restaurant was so charming and the food was amazing. We ate dinner there both nights it was so good. By far the best spot to stay in the north state.

All aboard for an extraordinary stay! The caboose-style rooms were charming, the mountain views breathtaking, and the proximity to Mt. Shasta added to the allure. Delicious food, a relaxing hot tub, and an overall amazing experience. Highly recommend this uniquely themed railroad resort!P.S- The staff went beyond to decorate the room and arranged cake for surprise birthday celebration!

We went on Christmas Eve buffet and I wish I could say better comments. The service at the table and bar were very slow and they were just too short handed. The food was very good and so was the selection. I would return here for another dinner and or lunch. I do love the ambiance of the railroad cars and believe in supporting local business.

This place is amazing! The resort is quaint and unpretentious, with awesomely appointed vintage rail cars as your room(s), all nestled under the pines. Clean mountain air (pine trees smell) and a babbling brook (creek adjacent to resort) complete the mountain atmosphere. We stayed in #21 which was completely finished in knotty pine on all walls and the ceiling. Spacious, comfy, and very private, the room was fantastic! The staff are incredibly nice & friendly. We can't wait for our next visit. We will definitely be going back!Rooms: Fantastic! Modern amenities fashioned into a vintage rail car. Cozy & quaint. Simply fantastic!Nearby activities: A short drive of about 20 minutes, we went to McCloud Falls which was gorgeous. Then we took the 45-minute drive to Burney Falls which was even more spectacular. One night we strolled thru Dunsmuir during the Steam Punk festival.Food & drinks: The on-site restaurant is so incredibly unique! Made up of vintage rail cars married to a fixed building, that is decorated as it should be for a railroad themed resort. The food is good too!Noteworthy details: You can hear the still active Union Pacific freight train as it winds its way thru McCloud & Dunsmuir sounding its horn/whistle which echoes thru the pine forest.

No words for the breakfast burrito! Unbelievable! Can t complain about the dinner either, good careful limited selection of great dishes and hot cocktails! The campground is beautiful, the whole area is beautiful. The staff is very friendly. It's a great place to escape from the everyday duties with the kids and the family.

What a FUN place to stay. We had a short overnight stay in Caboose #15 (king bed) and really enjoyed the vintage, yet comfortable, feel of the room. Before dinner at the on site restaurant, we had some bubbly in the gazebo with a crazy good view of sunset over Castle Crags (which we weren't expecting). Dinner really hit the spot - good food, decent prices, excellent live music (acoustic guitar and vocals), and attentive servers. What more could you ask for.Even though the location is only a couple of minutes off of I-5, the road noise was hard to hear most of the time. And there's a creek running along the property to boot. Plus they have some cornhole and other games to play. So much to enjoy in just a few hours.

Cool concept for this area. We stopped here for one night while visiting the Mt Shasta area. Our caboose was comfortable and the mattress was good. I slept well and took a wonderful hot shower in a clean spacious bathroom. We sat in the top of our room and enjoyed a bottle of wine overlooking huge green trees. We had both dinner and breakfast at the dining car and the service and food did not disappoint.

This is a truly fun experience! A great form of glamping... Spending the night in a refurbished railroad car! They also have regular camping and RV sites available. The food in the food car is top notch...on the expensive side so you might want to preview the menu before dining so that you can determine how often (during your stay) you would like to dine here. There are small refrigerators and microwaves in the railroad cars. Best of all...it's dog friendly!!! That alone makes it 5 star for meRooms: Dog friendly!!

Honestly I wanted so bad to return all of our food. Only reason was because the waiter was working so hard I felt bad that he was the only one waiting all those tables.Everyones order was completely messed up. Burt toast, over cooked poached eggs, leather chicken fried steak, under fried hashbrowns cold gravy for the bistkets and gravy. Very bad foodThe fish and chips were a laught, get more fish on a mc donlds sandwich, three fish sticks like a kids meal. So sad that we will not be eating here again. this could of been our spot when we are up this way.Good thing I was with good company. We all really laughted about the whole thing even tho our bill was over $75. got robbed that day for sure.If you are paying for food best thing is to get it your way or not pay at all. Very disappointed in this place. The waiter was trying his best to get to everyone but there really should of been another two people helping cook and wait the tables and bar tend...

We had a lovely dinner at the restaurant. Our server was great, the mushroom ravioli and stuffed portobello mushroom dinners were very tasty. There was even live music the night we were there. A great evening!

Our waitress was divine. I do want to write about what we ate though. We had prime rib and although it tasted good the au jus was not, nor were the potatoes. The potatoes had huge lumps in them and absolutely no flavor. I'm sorry but the mashed potatoes are literally the easiest thing to make on the planet. The au jus is what brings out the flavor in the prime rib and so that needs to be good even if the prime rib isn't. I also called ahead for a reservation and they said I couldn't make reservation if I didn't have a party of 10 but they had tables of four reserved so riddle me that. Fries were excellent. Waitress was a doll. Seasoning is your friend!
