I lived near Dillon Beach for 15 years and never went. Now, we live in the Foothills but every now and then want to come spend some time at the ocean. After looking at a map, and knowing other things we wanted to do that day, my daughter and I set out and headed to Dillon Beach. The drive through Petaluma was an easy, straight shot and once we got West of town the rolling hills dotted with cows was beautiful! The little town of Tomales was cute and so close to the Coast. We ll come back another time to check that out more. The beach was super easy to find and we paid our $10 parking fee. The California coast had been experiences high surf warnings and the weekend prior had super tides and dangerous surf. I was a little concerned we d not be able to get too close and that the beach would be covered in water. It wasn t! It turned out to be the most perfect day, ever. The sun was shining and about 65 degrees. The surf was rolling in, but kids were swimming and a couple surfers were doing their thing. The biggest and best surprise was how dog-friendly the beach is. There were tons of dogs there - and that s ALWAYS a good thing in my book! The beach is bigger than it seemed on the map, so lots of room to spread out and walk far. The beach was clean. The parking lot was clean. There are picnic tables and fire pits (nice!). The bathrooms were also clean. All in all, a great place to visit the coast!!

It wasn't crowded. We paid $15 to park. They had at the pay station a free ice cream or coffee if you filled a bucket of trash on the beach. Cool idea to keep the beach clean for everyone. The workers were nice and friendly. The beach was nice it was overcast weather, low 50s. They had a restroom/changing stalls.

Dog friendly beach; decent surf when the tide and wave height are working; gotta pay for parking. There are a bunch of picnic tables and a few fire pits too!

Good parking $10 a day. Bathroom...but it's very dirty and needs attention. Beach is nice the kids are having a blast. There is a lady with a walker on the beach but not good access for wheelchairs

We were told and had read it was $10 to park at the beach parking but it was actually $15. Beach was great, lots of happy dogs! Kids explored and we can t wait to go back at a low tide to explore more!!

Easy parking and lots of beach access. Large decent public restroom. GPS was a bit tricky and it kept sending us into the housing development above the beach but once we figured it out it was good. Lots of waves and wind when we went but still nice.

What can I say, it's a parking lot. Definitely big enough on the day we visited. Picnic tables are nearby on the south end of the lot. Beach is beautiful. Parking is $10. It's the only private beach in California, and the walk along the beach is worth the ten spot.

A beautiful drive to get there and the beach is enormous, plenty of parking but go early if it's a holiday. Dog- friendly, people of all origins are welcomed. Kept clean, so don't leave anything behind.

Too hot? We made it out to Dillon three weeks ago with our Family visiting from San Diego driving down from visits in WA and the Oregon Coast. Dillon Beach Perfect weekday crowd and perfect level of Fog. Brother-in-Law threw on his board shorts and dove into the Surf for a short swim. Water was a tad colder than San Diego.Loving the new updated and restored beach cottage rentals, market place store and more!!Also bathroom & facilities have been replaced updated but still homey beach town feel #sandonthefloor

Beach was a bit busier than I like, but plenty of parking and the beach area is big enough to lose the crowd for the most part. Labor day weekend so that brings out the crowd

There is a sign saying DO NOT TRUST GPS it is wrong. Turf LEFT! The sign is accurate turn LEFT at the fork, & reach a immense dark sand beach with easy parking next to tall dunes & plenty of legroom! Rocks along the north end are entirely encrusted with barnacles & other sealife kids will explore without end!

We love this little beach. Dog and kid friendly. You do have to pay for parking, but it's worth it to not fight roadside traffic. If it's a nice day, go early so you can ensure a parking spot and beach spot. Bathrooms with running water are available.

Great beach. Fishing, surfing, running or exploring tide pools at low tide are all great fun.

Out of the way beach that h as a small parking lot.Attendants help you park when you get there early.Very dog friendly beach. Lots of and kids as well.Long Beach allows for long walks. Can get windy when you sit on the bluffs..but the views are great and the dogs stay on the beach not the bluffs. So a good way to stay away from the dogs if you need to.

If the lot is full you have to wait. Then it blocks the road if you are trying to get out of Lawson Landing with an RV. It was up to a 45 min wait to get into the parking lot. Get there early!!! $15.00 to park

Well sized lot priced at $10 for the day or $15 when it's busy. If you collect a bucket of garbage on the beach, you can get a free soft serve or drip coffee.
