Do not use the shop. I went to them on a referral to have some work done on my Subaru. When I arrived to pick up my car, the windows were down and my car was unlocked so anybody could get in it and I. I figured it was no big deal and got in my car to take it home. Upon driving home I discovered that they had overfilled my power steering fluid, and it almost caused me to crash. When I returned home, I discovered a dent in the back of my car that had not been there before. When I contacted the shop and informed them of the damage, they refused to take responsibility and compensate me for the amount of the damages. This is a shop that does not take pride in their work or care about their relationship with their customers.

I can't say enough about Robinson Automotive in Placerville. Helped me get my car FIXED fast. With quality results. Rebecca knows her stuff! So helpful, stress free. The mechanics are fast, efficient and knowledgeable. Saved me tons of money through a grant for seniors. I could not have done this without them. Truly God's angels doing his work. I love you guys. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I highly recommend Robinsons and only Robinsons in Placerville. You want it done right, worry free. Go see the folks down there and RELAX!

I posted a review some time ago and I must have done something because I don't see it. So, let me try this again. Robinson"s Automotive is the ONLY place to go !!!! My wife and I were very stressed out because our check engine light was on and we needed to pass smog. This, of course, is an automatic fail. We were able to get an approval from BAR to repair the vehicle but were very confused as to where. God was looking out for us again. Somehow, we found Robinson's. Rebecca, the manager/service adviser was absolutely AWESOME!!! We could go on and on and on but: the great quality of service, their empathy towards their customers, the assurances and calm demeanor, their friendly dispositon - what else can I say. If I was rich and these folks charged 5 times more, after our experience, this is still where we would go!!! WE LOVE ROBINSON'S AUTOMOTIVE !!!!

I am totally happy to have found Robinsons automotive. They fixed my 2006 Volvo. It took a lot of research, but they found the problem (where another shop had told me the engine is trash and I should get rid of the car). The engine wasn't trashed, it was an oil pick up tube that was clogged. My Volvo runs like a champ and I am so grateful. These guys know what they're doing.

Wonderful staff, they are super detail oriented-they are professional , polite, they work with you on your repairs and advise what is needed when. Absolutely fantastic shop and staff. Highly recommend

The service is quite rude.It took Robinson's Automotive more than a week to work on my car (no more than a 2 hours job), and they overcharged me for it. I can not recommend this place.

My husband used this automotive shop for an alignment. The mechanics were very kind and understanding, but the front desk associate was extremely rude. She showed poor customer service and it was very off putting. She also failed to disclose the fact that the mechanic will drive away with your car for about 10 miles, which most shops do not do for an alignment. We would have been okay with this if this knowledge was made aware prior to the appointment. It was just very shocking to see the car drive away without us expecting it.

Went in for an oil change and brake fluid flush on an older BMW. The brake fluid was simply a scheduled maintenance item, but thankfully they checked the fluid before flushing it and said it was still in great condition. No need to pay for a full flush! These guys and gals are top notch! They are efficient, professional and honest people who even give veterans a discount! Their prices are very fair and I am so glad to have found them! Becky and Marty spent extra time working with my insurance company to assess my auto accident, providing pictures and reports that allowed the insurance company to not even send an adjuster and settle with me in less than 10 days! They didn't even charge me! A customer forever!

Went in for an alignment on my Subaru WRX STI and end up seeing the mechanic driving off with my car gone for almost 25 minutes. My stuff thrown around and a significant amount of gas gone as if they were driving fast and far. Additionally staff was very rude and unprofessional. I have been coming here for years and will never go anywhere else for smog+reg services! It is simple. The customer service is A+. When you go to Robinsons they are upfront and honest and I couldnt reccomend a better place!

Becky, Zach and everyone at Robinson's have been extremely helpful during my time of need with my vehicle breaking down. They did a fantastic job on keeping me updated on the progress with estimates. They also went above and beyond to get me a ride home when a last minute issue with my car made it undriveable the evening I went to pick it up. Great family business!

Robinson's is one of the best shops in town...been coming here for years and have had nothing but good experiences. Marty and his crew are outstanding and I have had antique American cars to late model BMW's all worked on at this shop, all to my continuing satisfaction. The shop came highly recommended by a friend and I am very pleased to have had them repair my truck. They are known for outfitting and repairing first responder vehicles and with that type of skill and Trust placed in them I felt confident they would take very good care of my rig. I needed a new battery pronto (car died in a parking lot). I was referred to Robinson's Automotive so I showed up with no warning and no appointment. They replaced my battery in record time and everyone was exceptionally helpful. They'll definitely be getting all my maintenance and repair business in the future.

Honest mechanic here--no lie. Marty has been working on my car off and on over the past year and a half now and I have come to realize there is such a thing as an honest mechanic. His staff are honest as well. You can't go wrong bringing your car here for servicing, smog, repairs, whatever. He also has gone above and beyond by being a customer cab on numerous occasions for me although they don't advertise that. Their labor rates are very competitive too.

I've taken my 6 different vehicles to Robinsons for the past 3 years. Marty the owner is one of the most honest persons I know. His mechanics do great work and I've never had to return my car because they fix the problem correctly the first time. Rebecca in the front office is professional and on top of things and Kyle the mechanic is beyond knowledgeable and does a great job. Robinsons Automotive has a client for life. I highly recommend them for your mechanical needs.

2014 he replaced a part with the wrong part. Ended up costing me a whole lot more than it should have. Never take a VW to this guy. He does not know what he is doing.I didn't come back to your business because the owner yelled at me because of a misunderstanding about returning the car. He did not try to discuss the issue. Just started yelling at me and then told me to get off of his property. He was even was cussing in front of my friends granddaughter who was about 7. So NO way was I going to go back there.

Summary: The best ever experience with mechanic!I had my car break down in the mountains near Placerville, while going back from skiing at tahoe. It was Saturday, and I managed to get hold of Marty (owner), who was kind enough to make an exception on Saturday and take my car in. He immediately gave me the honest quote over the phone (since my clutch was out), and it was a good price for the work being done.But then Marty went an extra mile, literally - He dropped me off to nearest starbucks by the highway, so I can wait for my friend to pick me up.And he did it again, picking me up from amtrack stop in Placerville, since I had to take public transport from San Francisco to pick up the car, and drove me to his shop.His also did extra cosmetic work free of charge - fixed few big bumper dents in the back, fixed broken trunk opener button, washed the car, etc.I am truly impressed with his kindness, customer care, trustworthiness and overall friendliness.

These folks got my old 1985 toyota teuck smoged, not many people know the ins and outs of these later model trucks, tbey do. Got me passed and i was so pleased with everyone on their crew.
