Driving back from Tahoe and our Rav4 started to show a check tire warning. We stopped off at Vickers and they quickly diagnosed the issue as a broken sensor and got us back on the road.10/10 professionalism and service, one of the few times I felt better leaving an auto shop than entering!

Vickers is family-owned and all of the staff are honest, forthright people. They charge some of the lowest rates in the area and communicate clearly with their customers. I trust them implicitly at this point after years of excellent service and experiences.

I live in Sac and was in Davis for work when my battery light came on in my vehicle. I'm not overly familiar with this area, but I found Vicker's online and decided to give it a shot. Cindy was extremely kind and treated me very well. They didn't charge for the initial inspection, and once they identified that I needed a new alternator, they squeezed me in so I could get home safely today. They happened to have the part, and it took about an hour or so to have everything taken care of.

Looked for a tire repair shop at 4pm the day before July 4th to check why we had low tire pressure. They took a look and found a screw in the tread but weren't able to fix it before they closed and recommended a tire place down the street. They were very friendly and took the time to look at our tire. The lady at the front desk listened to our concerns and I appreciate that. Thank you to Vickers we got our dog home safely.

Honest and Trustworthy. In addition to my Father-in-law servicing his vehicles here, I ve used Vickers on 5 occasions. 4 of the 5 visits were major repairs to the engine because I have bad luck and there are kids in the neighborhood that likes to put sand in the gas tank. Their pricing is more than fair considering their quality of work is top notch. But the main reason I keep going to Vickers is the fact they always do the right thing. I highly recommend them.Service: Engine repair

TLDR: When your dealership service center is trying to charge you an arm and a leg, take your car to Vickers for a second opinion! Better yet stop going to anyone else and go to Vickers!I normally take my car to the Hanlees Kia Service Center for my oil change. After this last appointment they told me my car needed a number of fixes including brake lights (which I swear I had just fixed) as well as hood hinge repairs. Basically these repairs plus the ones I haven't mentioned yet would cost me over $1500. I understand my car is older and needs more maintenance but I literally just did a pricey tune-up last year, so I was shocked by the price tag (and also the fact previous technicians who did my oil change never mentioned these repairs). Enter Vickers. I contacted a few local shops in Davis, and I was immediately won over by Vickers receptionist, Stevie. I have to say as a woman speaking with another woman I felt more at ease, if that makes sense. I unfortunately have this fear that male employees of auto shops may take advantage of women customers, like me, since I don't have much knowledge about cars and can be nave sometimes. I did not feel this way here. Stevie put my mind at ease, listened to what I had to say and explained potentially what my car would need and the process. She was super knowledgeable! I brought my car in the next day and left it there. I did have some trouble finding the place, but it's tucked away behind the NAPA Auto parts. The technicians found that I do not need all of those repairs done. They found that my brake lights had been installed incorrectly the last time they were changed. They only charged me a service fee of $75 telling me my car is basically fine. Much less than the $1500 I might have paid had I gone to my dealership. Vickers has won a customer for life. Thank you for such great service!

I m so glad Vickers auto was recommended to me. They consistently exceed my expectations with turn around time, customer service, and quality of car service. They re honest. And probably best of all, they help me make decisions about what I actually need to get fixed and what can wait. As long as I live in Davis (or close to Davis), I ll take my car here. Highly, highly recommend.

I got my check engine light diagnostics dine with them. They are very professional and extremely friendly, which made me feel welcomed. Their pricing is very reasonable, which I was looking for after being overcharged at another shop. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone looking to get work done on their car.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

Fantastic service and job! Were kind and worked with us to figure out the problem. Gave good advice to prevent the problem in the future too. All the cost seemed reasonable and up front.Very busy and difficult to get an appointment, so may not be the best place for an emergency.

I initially went in next door to Nappa auto parts to get my battery checked, but once i got back in my car, it wouldn't start, some of there guys came over and did a quick run thru of my car to try and help find the problem, and couldn't find anything definitive but offered to give an actual inspection later and take care of my car in their lot. really kind and professional people, most places were booked for the next week, but they tried to fit me in and see about fixing my problem asap.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Amazing experience. Quick response. I had no appointment. I walked in with one of my headlights not working and they fixed it without charging me anything. This is the place to go. Excellent service. I am not writing a review for just a free service I was offered but also the staff is very quick to be of service to you.Service: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

I have now brought both of my vehicles to Vickers and I can say that they are the absolute best repair shop I have ever used. John and his entire team went above and beyond to help me and my family out with some repairs. They are fair, reasonable, and honest. I will be a customer for life and I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. On top of that John is just a nice person. Thank you Vickers Automotive!

I cannot express completely how happy I am with the service from Vickers. Everyone there treated me like a lifelong customer even though it was my first visit and the service was top notch. They took care of my brakes and headlight at a very competitive price, and spent time diagnosing an issue that was caused by my recent visit to the local dealership service bay free of charge (H****** overfilled the oil causing the check engine/hazard light to trigger). Night and day difference in the level of service compared to the dealership with no up-selling bs. These folks have a lot of integrity and a new loyal customer.

Last summer my AC broke. I went to a different mechanic and had it looked at and they told me they d need to take my car for 4 days and do a full AC check. I didn t have the time or the money for a full AC check at the time, so I skipped it. Last month, I took my car to Vickers because it was getting too hot to not have working AC. They fixed it within a couple of hours (said my relay switch was broken), and didn t even charge me for the inspection or the parts! I was really, really pleased and impressed and will be returning to Vickers in the future.Additionally, every employee I spoke with was extremely kind. When I walked in to drop my car off, the two family dogs were in the lobby. You can tell it s a family owned, family run business and I really liked that, too.

I brought my car in because it s battery had been draining overnight to the point where it wouldn t start. I informed them that I had been told by a different mechanic that my alternator would need to be replaced within the year, so the problem might be with that). They took 2 days of testing to tell me that the problem was with my battery and that it needed to be replaced (they were certain the alternator was functioning correctly). I wasn t so sure about this since the battery was somewhat new, but they seemed sure about it, and I didn t want to pay the $160 no service fee, so I gave them the go ahead.Sure enough, the next morning, the exact same problem was still there. I called them saying the fix didn t work, but they said I can receive no refund or complementary fix work. They said (without even inspecting the car again) that the problem is almost definitely with my alternator (what I mentioned in the first place), and that I would need to pay an additional $460.At this point, I didn t trust them nor their skills, so I jumped my car and drove 2 hours to a mechanic I had been to before and trust. This mechanic tested my car overnight and immediately told me the problem is a simple fix due to a built in Bluetooth module that started to drain my battery. He said all he needs to do is open up the circuitry and disconnect the Bluetooth module. He also mentioned that the alternator and previous battery were perfectly fine and did not need to be replaced. The fact that he was able to diagnose and fix this problem so quickly and simply makes me think that Vicker s Automotive Repair was either giving me incorrect information on purpose to drag out more money from me, or they are incapable of correctly diagnosing problems. My advice is that you only come to this mechanic if you know exactly what the problem you have with your car is, and that you refuse any other suggested fixes that do not align with what you were expecting. If you do not know what the problem is with your car, get your diagnosis from a different mechanic.Services: Electrical repair, Battery, Oil change

After this experience, I refuse to go anywhere else! I ve never had such honest mechanics performing to their quality level. Izzy personally did a great job and I would recommend him to anybody. Also, Stevie at the front desk was as nice as can be and you could tell she really wanted to help!Service to this degree is rare. Thank you Vickers and thank you to everyone who helped resolve my car issues!Service: Body & Trim

It's ridiculous that they have repaired my car many times because of their inability to fix it. Once again I came there and he thought he had done it all, that it was my problem, that I was making them feel uncomfortable and thus refusing to fix it for me. ????????

If anyone is in the area and is having car trouble, I'd definitely recommend Vicker's Automotive Repair. I got my front brake master and brake booster replaced on an older Honda accord, which now performs perfectly. Thank you John and Cindy for an amazing experience and wish your business the best of luck.Pro:- Cindy and John are very kind, genuine and understanding when it comes to customer service.- John takes the time to diagnose the issue(s) and is well organized on their forms/ documents- They gave call checkups on the status of your vehicle once a day- They also stayed open past their hours when I called in to take my vehicle- No hidden fee's and John goes over why he fixed what and how it might have happened ( Clarity)- 1 Year warranty cost free if the same problem occurs againCon:- They have a backup of cars to fix so if you need your fixes urgently, you will have to take the initiative and call them constantly.- The fixes were more costly than other places, but their efficiency was worth the price

Came in on my only day off and even though they were pretty booked they managed to squeeze me in. Both of my brake lights were out and I was unsure if I just needed new bulbs or if there was a larger issue. I just sat in the waiting room for less than 30 minutes until someone was free to look at my car. It ended up just needing new bulbs and they didn t even charge me for their time or the bulbs. Wonderful, accommodating people with excellent customer service!

They're friendly and nice to you in person / over the phone but that's about it. I took my FZJ80 Landcruiser here a few months back and they threw the new guy on it and he messed up a ton of stuff on my vehicle. Ended up costing me another $800 to fix it again on top of the $700 I spent at Vickers. These things I just paid to get fixed were things that weren't even broken in the first place until I used this mechanic. Never coming back here. Find a better shop that actually respects your vehicle.Service: Engine repair

Vicker's is unwilling to work with customers with questions about their vehicles. Would strongly recommend against using this shop.I needed a part replaced that I had gotten at a shop in Southern California that was still under warrantee. I had lots of questions about pricing and the part itself because I was unable to take it to a shop in the area that used the same insurance program. They were clearly very bothered by my questions about pricing, bothered when I asked the secretaries to check with their mechanics, bothered when I was confused by their pricing structure. They did give me a refund for my diagnostic (which I didn't even ask for, but did sincerely appreciate) and then said they would not take me as a customer again. I was very polite and calm, I've worked a lot in customer service, I simply don't know a lot about cars and wanted to make sure things were in order. A surreal experience.

Always kind, friendly staff. You know upfront what you're dealing with in terms of your car. No hidden fees or agendas. Don't trust my vehicles with anyone else.

My partner and I went here based off the reviews, and they are legit! Not only are the office staff so friendly and upfront with the issues your car has (as well as pricing), but the mechanics are top notch and do a wonderful job. They also don't try to upsell you on services your car doesn't need, and are super honest. We'd taken our car to Firestone in Natomas for an oil change, and they told us we needed to get a fuel system flush (costing something like $180). Rather than go back, we asked Vickers about it and they flat out said a fuel injector cleaner would do the job (available at Target, even, for $4). So that's what we did. Our car runs so much smoother now!Our older '02 Camry was having issues with the check engine light, and we actually ended up having to bring it in twice - not due to anything on Vickers' fault; the car is old, and it needed a new mass air flow sensor as well as a new catalytic converter (check engine light came on for both of these). They were very communicative and kept us posted when the car was ready. When I'd initially called in to inquire about a new catalytic converter, nobody picked up and I was sent to a voicemail explaining they were either busy with a customer, or on the phone with another customer. I left a message and received a call back maybe an hour later. Stevie was so sweet, and told me that she got my voicemail and put in a message with the lead mechanic, Izzy. She said she would call me back with an exact price, and gave an explanation in regards to the code the reader gave - the catalytic converter being bad. She explained things so thoroughly, and spent a good amount of time on the phone with me, that it made me feel super comfortable. After lagging on our end, we gave them the ok to order a new cat, and from when we gave the ok to when we picked up the car, it hadn't even been a full week. We picked it up today and it runs beautifully. Stevie told us to drive the car for 80-100 miles, bring it back (I forget what the term she used was, but essentially to make sure there are no issues since we need to pass smog - diagnostic, maybe?), and from there we should be good to take it straight to a smogging shop. It's the attention to detail and thorough explanations that earns them 5 stars. If you're having any doubts about where to go in Davis for car work, Vickers is up high on the list. Highly, highly recommend!

Best auto service at Vickers. They will only replace what is needed and their labor rate is lower than dealer. My wife and family have brought our 5 cars for repairs. We trust them and are honest on billing. Be prepared to give them advanced appointment, as they are always backed up with repairing other vehicles.
