These guys are the best, across the board. Nice, longtime local ties, honest. The work speaks for itself, prices as reasonable as anywhere so they re crazy great value given the combo of excellence, reliability, and cost.I m not a super old timer but old timers will appreciate this and know what it means: Bob Redfield recommended these guys (period) to me when there was something he didn t have equipment for to work on a car I had.

Really good price for the tires and service. They changed a pair of my tires in less than an hour. That's a good deal for just $300+ on a pair of all weather tires. I live in Sac now, but I still drove here because of their quick service and good attitude.

Fixed a flat and did it 30 minutes before closing time. Whoop-dee-doo you might say? But a local dealership, that shall remain unnamed, would rather sell you 4 tires for one fixable flat than service a one year old vehicle they sell. Second time I've been to Vander Hamm for a flat and one of these days my Toyota will need a repair that I would happily have them service. Thanks

Brought in a tire and wheel and they had it mounted and balanced really quickly for a very reasonable price. No weird extra fees for bringing in a new tire I bought online. Front desk/service write-up guy was professional. Coming back here when needed.

The fastest most efficient service I ve ever had!! My wheels were grinding. I was sure I needed new brakes, the last thing I wanted to deal with. I called Vander Hamm on a whim and they said bring it in the morning we ll take a look call you in an hour or so and give estimate and have brakes done by early afternoon. They called by 10 said plastic had gotten wrapped around wheel and rotor. The inspected brakes and said everything looked good and I could come get it. They didn t even charge me. Time is so valuable . I so appreciate the care I got. Thank you!!

I've always been pleased going to this shop (lived in Davis for 20+ years) and today was no exception. I called early in the morning, worried about the way the steering wheel was shaking badly at low speed. Blaine suggested I bring it in quickly and he examined it within the hour even though there were many cars in the shop. He suggested new tires, I agreed on the type, he located them and installed them the same day. I was picturing my dealership taking twice as long and twice as expensive. Instead, they installed it the same day and for a good price. Done and happy.

I enjoy getting help with my tire needs at this place! I have come here about four times already (with different vehicles).Excellent employees who will be direct with you and make good recommendations. I saved about $100 for a tire I needed to have replaced! I was getting quotes from Walmart/Ford around $300 for a Bridgestone tire (I've had bad luck with this brand lately), and they recommended a brand that was a little bit cheaper. Dropped off the tire in the morning, went back the same day, and the new tire was ready to go!Blaine and Doug have been very helpful and they are very insightful about their field of work.

These guys are the best. I've been coming here for years. They put new shoes on all my cars, and they have handled more than a few engine, brakes, batteries, and coolant issues for me. Everything they do is top notch. The place is clean and the guys are friendly and professional. If you re in Davis, CA and need tires you should go here.A little head up for you. It sounds obvious, but don t park where the words No Parking are painted on the asphalt in front of the shop. The parking lot isle is tight, and you run the risk of someone from the other side backing into the side of your car. It hasn t happened to me, but I ve seen some close calls. Find an actual parking spot, or park on the street. It's worth it.

I been went to this place for more than 5 times, they take care every car I own. The service were great and precise, from basic tire change to brake problem. If u need fix issue for tires or something else that's the place in davis

A+ customer service. I discovered Vander Hamm a few years ago and now I buy all my tires there. I had an issue with a new tire and the shop rectified it immediately. This place is the best in town.

I would recommend this place only if you are looking for new tires, but it seem every service their website states they provide, including TPMS installation and relearning/reset, is beyond their capability for newer vehicles and as the employee on the phone had to me, "you might want to go somewhere else for that". They had given me recommendations for suspension service to another shop in Rocklin, but I'd advice don't follow through unless you want to pay for overpriced subpar service. Customer service/ care greatly lacks with staff here.

Best car shop I ve been to! Everyone is so nice, professional, and patient lol better customer service than the Volvo dealership I go to back home. I needed to get my tires replaced and my car realigned, they were very open and helpful about the different options/what I should pick. I was really surprised but also so grateful I could get everything done the same day. I dropped my car off at 9:45am and it was done at 3pm. Super convenient to have such a great business in Davis with college too, I totally recommend them!

They provide good service !!!!! I have been taking my truck for service for a few years they do great work communication is great . Just bought new tires from them . Glad they are in Davis !!!!!!

Needed four new tires and they were able to get the tires and put them on all in the same day (~5 hours). I didn t have an appointment, just a walk in. Other places needed weeks to have them shipped over. The man who helped me out walked me through all of my options, answered all the questions I had, and I never felt like he was trying to upsell me or get me to buy extra things. Highly recommend and I will definitely go back in the future.

I had a problem with a tire in my mini Cooper and needed it checked out. I called the tire center and spoke to Blaine to see if he had tire that would fit. He told me to come in and that he could get one. He told me that he would first see if the tire had a hole or something that could be repaired. And then said, "There's no point in buying a new tire if you don't need one." Wow! That's a first. He checked out the tire and found that I didn't need new one. Instead, the air valve was leaky, so he replaced it. I went to pay him and he said, "No charge."This is without a doubt the best service I have ever gotten at a tire center. Not only were they scrupulously honest, they handled my situation with integrity. Plus, they are just really nice guys! Blaine, many, many thanks from my husband and me. Best wishes to you all. We've been using Vander Hamm for our Ford Cmax plugin hybrid and Ford Transit 350 van. Their work seems great, as well as customer service.They haven't had to do any work on the electric side of the Cmax, so I can't comment on that.

I was referred here by my daughter. I have been driving more years than I care to count and this place and these people are the best in every way.I had them check out two used cars I bought and I would not have proceeded without their approval.They are friendly, fair, and thorough. I have trusted them to refer me to otherservices I needed for my car and I have never been sorry.The whole crew from owner to mechanic has gone above and beyond anything I ever expected (or received) from any other service center, anywhere, ever.You might have a good story about your mechanic, but I can top it. The people in this service center actually have a place in my heart.I do not hesitate to refer friends here on a regular basis.

We had a flat tire on our 2006 one ton truck that has dual tires in the rear. We googled tire repair and Vander Hamm came up with 5 stars. We were from out of town. We called and they said yes open come on down and we will help you out. It can take up to 2 hrs. So we went and WOW what a surprise they took our truck right in and said if its a quick fix we will do it now. it was a quick fix less than 30 mins with no charge WOW!!! Our valve stems had come lose so they tightened 3 out of the 4 tires for us and sent us on our way. They knew we would probably never be back in there since we were from out of town. They took good care of us with a smile. Thank you Vander Hamm Tire for being the family owned business of when your Grandfather first opened it with a hand shake and a smile and true honesty. I can not recommend Vander Hamm Tire Center enough! I've been doing business with them for 10+ years. Our family takes all of our cars there for all service needed. They always fit us in the schedule quickly. Once they even came to us! Blane and Danny are always so helpful and explain things well. Excellent service!

I've been bringing my vehicles here for many years. Honest, friendly people of integrity with very fair prices. Highly competent mechanics, too -- they've diagnosed & fixed issues that had stumped other well-known auto repair businesses in town! And generous with their time & attention to their clients, whether in person or on the phone. They sell quality products, my current car rides much better on the tires they recommended & installed (compared to the original equipment) and their repairs last. What more could you want?

I have been a highly satisfied customer of Vander Hamm Goodyear for about forty years now. For more than twenty of those years I owned three cars, and Goodyear Davis serviced them all. I came to trust explicitly the advice of what I have always considered a very knowledgeable and ethical staff as well as the excellent workmanship of their mechanics, and have always accepted their charges as fair. They have often taken my car in on short notice when I needed immediate repair, and I have always favored Goodyear tires especially. They are one of only two shops in all of Davis that I trust and have full confidence in. I have to conclude by saying that the original owner, whose death just a few years ago saddened us all, would have been very proud of the integrity with which his descendants and former employees have carried on his business.

Honest shop, great service. I came in thinking I'd need to buy three new tires (due to damaged front wheel that collapsed onto front tire), but only ended up needing to buy one. Turned around in one day. Will definitely do business with them again. Update: Have since returned for snow tires, and once again had a good experience. Turned around in two hours, managed to source the tires in a day. Will go back.

Very inconvenient, very inefficient. For a flat repair, you need to drop off your car at 8 or 9 in the morning, and then wait until noon or the afternoon to receive it. You do not have a vehicle during that time period. Worse, you cannot make an appointment for a flat repair--a terrible approach--even when you visit their center in person. I would not recommend this place for flat repairs. The managers act as though a flat repair were a transmission repair!
