Lectures you and talks down to you: I went to get a second opinion on my car as it had starting problem and another mechanic wanted to charge me $1000 for changing Alternator and belts. Boy what a mistake !! He lectured me the whole shebang about how the Battery and Alt work and then eventually told me there is nothing wrong. He could have done the same thing without insulting me and making me feel how stupid I am. Never getting any work done here !! Stay away if you want your self respect !!

dai was awesome! had an error with my vtec and he fixed it. he also fixed my broken motor mounts. was super honest and not pushy - also fixed a shoddy job done on my car by a different mechanic. great prices and he tells you a breakdown of everything.

brought my car in for an oil change. mechanic was an older asian gentleman struggling to open my trunk (not his fault, my car has an abnormal trunk mechanism). i proceeded to offer him help opening the trunk. he then lashed out proceeding to tell me if you dont need me, do the oil change yourself before forcefully shutting my trunk and telling me how im useless to the economy yes, this really happened.EDIT: reading other reviews, i believe his name was Dai. not entirely sure though

I ve went to Dai previously multiple times for oil changes and his prices are reasonable and level of service is solid. I purchase my own oil and filter and he used to offer me the leftover oil, but no longer did for my most recent visit. Also, he was incredibly rude and condescending, and just kept talking at me. All I wanted was a quick oil change and tire inspection and it turned into a long unnecessary lecture, telling me things I already knew. I m going to be finding a new mechanic.

I had a nail in the tire of my Tesla (Model Y Performance 2022) which is equipped with some type of sound absorbing foam in the tire. The shell down the street took one look at the nail in the tire and said they can't work on Tesla's. Called Pep Boys, they wouldn't even look at it. Luckily, the nice fellow at Handyman Auto Repair took the time to take a close look, and verified quickly that there was no leak, and pulled the nail right out and the job was done. He didn't even try to charge me, just said, "have a nice day" with a smile. Gave him what ever cash I had on me. Definitely recommend. Trustworthy.Service: Tires

Dai was good to work with. Every service had a cost breakdown. He resurfaced and adjusted our brakes and flushed the brake and power steering fluids. He had the work done overnight. When a bolt was stuck, he texted me a picture and let me know how much it would cost to replace before messing with it. Good experience. Affordable too.

Have taken my and my girlfriend's car here multiple times and have had only positive experiences. Routine maintenance is done quickly. For every issue we've brought cars in, Dai not only fixes the issue, but brings you in to explain the problem and either how to diagnose it in the future or prevent it from happening again. The teaching aspect is very appreciated. He is pretty direct and straight to the point, which I guess can come off wrong to some people, but is pretty typical of most mechanics I've met. He can get busy, and may float between customers to size up each job, so it's usually good to get in earlyServices: Exhaust, Electrical, Brakes, Auto battery maintenance, Battery, Oil change

I was dreading going to an auto mechanic.Dai was an awesome guy. He walked me through step by step why he's doing something. Felt like an older brother teaching me.He raised my car up and pointed out the issue right away. A giant hole in my exhaust pipe. Took photos for me.Nicest guy ever. Gave me pointers on how to clean my car. =D Other auto mechanics were telling me they were going to charge $125+ just to take a look. Dai said don't worry about the charge and he referred me to a place that can weld/fix my exhaust pipe. Thank you!Definitely recommending Dai if you need a handy man for your car.

Hands down the best service I've ever had from a mechanic. Dai is just as honest as he is knowledgable, and that's saying A LOT. My car overheated literally right at the red light before his shop, so I had no time to look at any reviews or be picky.Who would have known that I was going to be meeting my new lifelong mechanic! He began teaching me everything about my car and explaining why it was overheating. I love when mechanics are honest enough to show you exactly what's going on with your car while teaching you more about it at the same time, it really shows their character and is too rare nowadays.He ended up fixing all the issues I had in just one day and gave me a price I couldn't believe. If I had taken my car to the dealership like I normally do it would have easily costed over a couple grand after parts and labor. With Dai? A grand. I'm never going anywhere else, if he goes to a new shop I follow. He also cleaned my engine and made it look brand new! I seriously can't praise this guy enough!

One of the best "shade tree" mechanic shop you'll ever find. Honest, fast, reliable. If something is beyond his equipment's ability he'll tell you so you can find a specialist shop. I've been going to Dai for years and all my family and friends take their cars to him for the basic services also.

One of the worst experience of any service provider in my life. I changed oil for my car and at the time he checked tire pressure and reset the sensor. After a week the the TPMS light came back again. I took my car today to his shop and he asked me what is the issue. When I try to give him context of my last visit he asked me to shut up and tell the problem. I tried again to explain the TPMS issue and he told me to shut up in front of other customers. I was baffled as to why I am getting such harsh treatment. He lectured me that I know nothing about cars and told me to fill air and get out. I walked out. It is strange and surreal experience as a customer. Any self respecting person will never set foot into his shop. I wish I can give less than a star for this shop.Services: Tires, Oil change

Mr.Dai is a very good mechanic and a very honest and nice person. He thoroughly analyzes the problem and ensures we get the right fix at a reasonable price. He is straightforward in his communication and explains the cause of the problem and how can we avoid it in the future. He does not do anything that is unnecessary.i am thankful to God that i knew about him. Highly recommend him.

The best mechanic in the area. Does only what's needed, for very reasonable prices. Very grateful to have him around.Honesty is rare in this field of work, so Dai is very unique here.Last time I brought the car to change the break pads, he threw in a complimentary engine wash and lights cleaning. Simply amazing service!

My check engine light came on and this place was willing to run diagnostics for free. The person who helped me was a little gruff, but he was knowledgeable and got me on my way so I appreciate that. Truly no upselling!Their oil change price was a little more than what I usually pay, but I would come back for at least a quote and second opinion if I had other car issues.

This place was good but trending towards worse abd worse now.The owner's attitude is so bad and rude that, every time he opened his mouth, you just feel his offense immediately.Trash place, don't go

The guy has a huge attitude problem. He is more interested in giving lectures and being condescending to potential customers than listening to their requests. Very, very rude. I would avoid him.

Dai is as honest a handyman as it gets and has an incredible base of knowledge about all cars. He's straightforward and is willing to go above and beyond to provide the best service possible. His help with my car issues was much appreciated, and the price was fair. I don't plan on going anywhere else for auto fixes.

My car smelled like something was burning, so i got it inspected at this auto repair shop. I thought the mechanic was very talented.. after an hour he showed me the problems of the car and gave me an estimate. After a day car was fixed and running again. Highly recommended mechanics if you're in the fremont area and need to fix your car problems.

Very honest and open service.Dai opens up the car, disassembles parts and lets you know exactly what's going on, what needs to be repaired and what can be fixed up without new parts.Very trustworthy guy, who responds to no one and is not pressured for quotas or commissions.Highly recommend!

I have never met a mechanic more honest and knowledgable.about his business. One of the greatest things you can learn of anyone in their field is the integrity to admit when they do not know something but will figure s out. He has fixed many cars of mine and I have referred many friends to his business only to hear great things. I would recommend him and never take a second thought about my recommendation.

Just did a smog check for my old nissan this morning. Dai did a great job with reasonable price. He's a fair and straightforward person. No BS. The place is close to my home too.

He is very honest person and explained me the issue clearly, and showed me few videos online about the issue. He checked the check engine light for free and wiped the codes for free of cost. I will definitely go here for all my repairs

I have been to this mechanic a couple of times and he is great. He explains everything and makes sure that understand why you need the work done. He does not over charge or try to sell you extra services. Work is done quickly and with good quality. This is a great place to get your worked on.

He is a one man shop, but Mr. Dia knows what he is doing and takes care of you needs with terrific courtesy. I brought in my 2 cars that needed oil change and smog checks, which are simple jobs. However, the central smog system was down in the morning and he kept me updated about it. Eventually, the system came up and he alerted me asap when the cars were available for pick up. If the system wasn't down, I am sure I would had my cars back within an hour. I also think the prices reflect the area of affluent Cupertino. Tip: try to get your cars in early in the morning. At 9:30am on a Wed, I was the first customer and there were no cars being serviced. By the afternoon, I saw a lot of cars that were being service.

I had very poor experience today with Dai. I'm not a new customer, I've been bringing our cars to Dai for a couple of years now.Here is what happened (see my screenshots for the evidence): A while ago Dai told me that my wife's Sienna needed replacement of the AC compressor since the car was making weird noise when the AC got turned on. He asked me to buy the part from Amazon and then a schedule an appointment. So I bought the compressor and when it arrived last week, I called him on Thursday to see if I could bring it in. He said the work would take whole day so I should bring it on a slow day like Wednesdays. Today morning at 8:40 I texted him; he said come on in now. So I show up. Their is a car outside his garage blocking me and Dai is filling air in the tires of the car so I wait in the driveway to park. Meanwhile, another car pulls behind me and the driver parks his car. Finally I park my car and wait for my turn. The guy in the car behind me is also waiting. So I mention politely, that my turn is next turn is next and he agrees.When my turns come, Dai ignores me and goes to the customer who came after me to see his car. So I told Dai, I was before him and he says the other customer was first. I said that is not clearly the case and even the other customer says it is ok. I also told Dai, I texted him before coming over, he rudely says it doesn't matter. So naturally I'm pissed and I drive way. I text him afterwards that I am angry how he treated me and he replies go to the dealership instead of saying sorry. What a rude and inconsiderate person . He knows their is a demand for his work so he doesn't care how he treats his customers.Stay away from this place...

I have taken a few cars into this shop. the mechanic is excellent and the customer service is exceptional. He is so reliable. thank God! he has helped out in emergency situations on a few occasions.

The good review draw me to visit his shop for a repair. I was shocked by his extremely rude attitude. He throw me a wrench and asked me to work on it. If I could solve the issue, why should I visit a mechanics. Totally waste of time.
