This is such a great place! They were super informative on the issues that my car was having. They answered any questions I had before giving any approvals. Everyone that I dealt with was super nice and helpful. I will definitely be bringing my car back to get any service I ll be needing in the future.

Brought in my 2010 Subaru Outback. Tatsu provided the most comprehensive and thorough vehicular check and assessment that I have ever experienced at an auto mechanic shop. I paid for an engine oil and electric issue diagnosis and the check was absolutely detailed. This shop uses an online app that they update with their findings and suggestions in real time, accompanied with pictures and easy to follow dialogue. Tatsu provided legitimate suggestions while still considering my budget and the lifetime of the car, despite it possibly costing them money. It was a very human experience that I truly appreciated.

These guys are the real deal. Looked over everything on my truck, gave me an honest and affordable quote. I really like their online platform with updates about my truck and needed repairs. Their work is very professional and on-time. 10/10

Came by to get a 2nd opinion about my engine & transmission. Needed assurance that it's safe to drive.Miguel drove it around, checked the under carriage. No issue noted, except needing new ball joints, and air in the tires--he added air, topped off the water level. No charge.Phew!I appreciate their courtesy & transparency. TY Team TAOoC!

I wasn't impressed here at Tokyo. I was quoted one price and then charged much more. Quality is average at best. Prices are much higher than competitors. All the fancy advertising and web sites cost a lot of money. You know who ends up paying for it, their customers.

Not bad at the diagnosis, but wouldn t have recommended a damper service if it wasn t going to fix my vibration, there was 2 options. Lets try this first obviously didn t work. Out 700ish dollars. Prolly not going back here. Would ve appreciated the, its 20 yrs old, drive it till it dies before taking my 700$Thanks for doing sound work but pass on the 700$ and the nonfix you attempted

Very professional from start to finish. Their recommendations for further service very detailed with photos. Have tacoma 4x4 with 86K miles. Need to get further maintenance before a real breakdown on the road.

I went in for an alignment on my lifted 4runner. I was met with a fully detailed and comprehensive report regarding recommendations to fix/be fixed/look out for along with photo proof of everything. Brought my NX 300 in for 15k service and had an excellent customer experience. They fit me into their schedule quickly and Larry at the front desk clearly explained their assessment and service process. They were completely transparent with their very affordable fees (especially compared to the dealership) and I paid exactly what they had estimated. Very quick turnaround on the service time and no surprise costs. Tokyo Automotive of Orange Coast service was amazing!!! Not only were they very professional, honest, efficient but also their services were priced fairly. I had been taking my car to the dealer for years however now that the warranty is expired on my car and it's a bit older, the repairs from the dealers were astronomical. So, if you are looking for a really good autoshop that you can trust without breaking the bank look no further. Someone recommended me to this shop, now I'm recommending it to you. I just had a vehicle inspection done so can only speak to that, but from it I got the impression that this is the type of place that preys on the less-knowledgable, but which could be really helpful if you know what you're doing.They have a web portal where they upload photos from each part of the job so you can see your dirty engine, worn brake pads, etc for yourself. This, of course, requires that you know what the parts are and what they should look like, and that's the kicker. Each repair rec comes with a color code for the urgency, and they make it seem like everything will fall apart tomorrow. They even recommend replacing parts that I had just replaced a few days prior, not to mention the labor costs are ~2x higher than other shops (they justify this with a poster in the lobby about how you should never cheap out on a job because it will come back to bite you).But, the good thing about their system is that, if you know what you're doing and keep a cool head, you can use all this information to make your own decisions about what should get done (somewhere else probably) and what can wait. They really do provide a comprehensive report on your car and you leave with great knowledge of its condition, their recommendations just go overboard and they're definitely upselling you.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I came in to get my brakes checked because they were squeaking so I figured the pads might be worn. They did a comprehensive exam of my car and sent me a list of things that might need service. The list of items contained some color code about how necessary/near term these items should be attended to. Of course most of them were orange or red. Felt like they deliberately make it seem like your car is ready to fall alert.Never fixed my breaks.I should have gone to the dealer.

Excellent communication and repair tracking system! They keep you updated with repairs and costs involved. Managment is excellent & professional. The 110K oil change for a Honda recommends a comprehensive multi point inspection. The Tokyo Special includes the oil change, parts and inspection for less than diagnosing each item separately. Orange Coast Automotive was fantastic. I don't know how, but they fixed all the damage done to my steering column (attempted theft) in just two days. Larry was great, polite and professional. I'll definitely be taking my vehicles here again.

Call this morning and received an arrogant disposition. FYI to all. Was told the prices are the same as Newport Lexus so you better go there because they have excellent coffee plus accommodations like the Ritz Carlton.

The new owners recently bought this place, I was excited to see if they were going to be just as good as before but sadly they were slow, and did not provide detail on what they did or how long the were going to take to di it. It was a poor choice of mine to trust them to do a quick and easy oil change.

I have been a customer of Orange Coast Automotive for 20 years but my most recent visit today (06/15/22) i was greeted by the new owner, Tatsu Tsuchida, who purchased the business in March of 2022. I was a little apprehensive at first but Tatsu was very professional and courteous. He has retained most of the team including Larry who handled most of the customer interactions in the past. Tatsu was extremely attentive and very knowledgeable about many aspects of vehicle maintenance.I had my 17 year old granddaughter with me who owns a 2018 corolla that needed an oil change and tire rotation. Tatsu won me over pretty quick with a description of all the add'l checks they would perform along with the synthetic oil change at a very competitive price. Plus, he said the tire rotation was COMPLIMENTARY!!!He also noticed I had a new windshield wiper in my hand that I had just purchased for my 2020 Hyundai Palisade and before I could ask him for help installing he took it from the countertop and walked to my vehicle and installed it for me! Orange Coast Automotive is one of my trusted service suppliers and I was happy to introduce my Granddaughter to them because I know they will take care of her!!!!!!!!Service: Oil change

I've been coming to OCA for over 20yrs. my parents as well. I have never had a single complaint the work was done in a timely manner, and twice I took my new car in insisting, something was wrong with the brakes they kept assuring me nothing was wrong, but they could have taken advantage, but they are so honest. Friendly too.

Independent repair shop. My family are all Toyota owners. My Dad has gone here for service for years. I just started. Honest place that does good work and doesn't try to upsell you on work you don't need.

My Mom and I take our cars here and they are honest and their prices are competitive. I just got my car back and it was less expensive than the estimate. Definitely will continue to take my cars here.
