I had the best experience I ve ever had with a mechanic with Byron here. He is extremely understanding and helped walk me through the issues that were going on with my vehicle. He worked with me extensively until the problem was fully resolved. I will continue to take any future vehicle to this shop and would recommend his business to anybody.

The most honest mechanic shop in OC. If you re looking for a decent mechanic shop look no further and call Byron! I needed some repairs done urgently on my vehicle; I got a few other quotes from other mechanic shops. When I contacted Byron he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He gave me a price/quote that was very reasonable and way less than other quotes. He put me on schedule for the next day and got my car fixed within a couple hours. I am very pleased with the service and how honest and professional Byron is. I m very impressed and will be back without hesitation if in need of more repairs. Thank you again, Byron.

Everyone needs to know a solid, honest auto repair shop, and this one's mine. Byron has been very fair doing several repairs on my Ford Transit Connect. As a retiree and part-time Uber driver, I wholeheartedly put my trust in Byron's Performance Auto Repair Shop to keep my ride running strong.

Byron is as good as they get. Honest fair and does excellent work. You will not be disappointed here he's fabulous. Just made my car run like it's new again. I wouldn't go anywhere else he is the best. Thanks again Byron!!

I had an amazing experience with Byron's shop!My car's check engine light had come on, and then it started to run rough. Turns out that my car had radiator coolant leaking into the engine, and Byron was the one who found the issue. Byron helped us make the right decision in regards to getting the engine replaced since it was under warranty, and he was honest and helpful the whole way. I would definitely go back here again!!!

Byron provides great customer service, best prices, and an overall job well done. We needed a 30,000 mile routine service on my KIA SUV and he charged significantly less than the dealership but still delivered quality service with efficiency, completing the service 2 hours earlier than anticipated. Byron is simply amazing! He is professional and knows exactly what needs to be done and is always very thorough. I have 3 vehicles and Byron works on all of them. I've been a customer of Performance Auto for 25 years. When the original owner retired about 20 years ago, his very young apprentice Byron took over the business and has made it flourish. Byron is professional, intelligent, and most importantly honest. He never performs unnecessary work on my cars. I am lucky to have Byron as my mechanic!

Byron is the best! After years of searching for a mechanic that could actually tell us what was wrong with our Nissan, my boss recommended this place and it really is the best kept lil secret of Costa Mesa. Stop in and see for yourself! Great prices and great service every time :)

Rarely have a met a mechanic with such a strong sense of social responsibility. True to his word, Byron charged me what he had quoted me for labor even though he ran into unexpected problems with my repair when he replaced the manual transmission on my VW.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Byron and his Performance Auto Service and Repair shop based on my experience and will certainly be bringing my cars to him from now on.Service: Transmission

I would fairly rate this facility with 10 Stars if it were possible. There is truly no other dealership or repair facility that can match up to this one. My profession is vehicle restoration and have been in the automotive business for over 40 years. With that said , I would only hope that the public will take this review quite seriously. The owner's name is Byron. Bring your vehicle to Byron's repair facility and I personally guarantee you that you will witness one of the most honest men you'll ever know. You will also have your vehicle positively repaired at the lowest rate you could possibly conceive. Performance will make absolutely sure that you will be completely satisfied with the service provided there. The quality of workmanship done at this repair facility you will find to be unsurpassed by any other. Even better the cost of repair from the work done there you will find to be mind-boggling. You and I both can challenge anyone to find a lower price for a given repair. That fact in conjunction with the extremely clean quality of workmanship done there makes this place absolutely unbeatable. I openly challenge anyone in the public to find a better repair facility. That challenge is because they absolutely will not be able to find a better one than Performance Automotive Repair in Costa Mesa California

As a woman trying to get her car fixed... Some people seem to think we are easily fooled. I feel like this place respects my concerns with my cars and my daughters car. They always answer all of my questions and they made me feel like I was a valued customer and not just a dumb girl. The prices are great and I have never had an issue with any of the parts that needed repaired. As a matter of fact, I still have my 10 year old van because I can always count on Performance Auto Service to fix it.

Brought my Durango to Byron mid-late April after being recommended by a family member and friend. He was friendly and knowledgeable over the phone and was sensitive to the COVID crisis upon arriving; had a mask on and wrote down what I needed looked at from a distance. The service was done in a timely manner with respect to only having minimal employees working. Will return in the future. Thanks Byron!

These guys are amazing!Why we came in:Our check engine light popped on (and then mysteriously off) so we came here to have it checked out. Because there were a couple mornings the car would start to smell odd during first use, they offered to keep it over night to see if they could figure out what that was all about. Additionally, we've had squealing brakes for years and no one -- NO ONE -- has ever been able to figure out why/make it stop.Also:I had an MD appointment and therefore an absolute MUST be done by time the next day.Why we love these guys:They were sensitive to our schedule and were done when promised! THE BRAKES NO LONGER SQUEAL. They didn't try to swindle us by saying x, y, and z also needed fixing. They did what we needed/wanted as promised and the pricing was reasonable. Super nice employees that know what they're doing. We won't go anywhere else again!

There are very few places that I believe could earn a higher rating than what is available to me right now, and this shop is one of them. Service, quality, and prices are outstanding - plus the owner is one of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. We had an old Odyssey that needed replacement of some select parts on the engine - we dropped it off in the morning, expecting the car to at least be unavailable until the next day.4 hours later, we get a call that they had already dropped the engine from the car, replaced the parts, put it back, and fixed the shoddy alignment. Needless to say I was astounded, as we weren't the only car there nor was the job an easy task. Outside of a dealer covered repair for a new car, this is the only place I would take any vehicle to get fixed. Thank you Byron for running such an awesome business

Would highly recommend above any of the 7+ shops I've ever brought a vehicle to. I myself am a trained mechanic, but as it is not my profession currently some things I just am unable to do at my house. I brought my Infiniti Q50 in to get a lightened crank pulley installed. Its something I did not have the tools to do the job myself and as I hate having to pay someone to do things in capable of I was very happy at the price I was charged for the job and the quality of work! Will definitely be returning for other jobs I cannot do myself and would recommend anyone else to check them out too!

Byron takes the time to explain why he is making repairs and is honest about the work. He is up front about time estimates, cost and what needs to be repaired. I will continue to use this shop for years to come. Byron will text you back on his mobile phone too which is a huge plus for me.

I asked him if he could perform a service for me and he said he could definitely do it, but thay he said in this particular case with a specifically rare car he recommended me to another shop that had more specific experience with that car. It doesn't get any more honest or straightforward than that. Much appreciated.

They inspected my car before I went on a road trip and when I picked up my car they really took the time to go over everything they looked at, what they found and what that meant for my car in terms of maintenance it needed right then and maintenance that might be needed in the future. Very helpful!
