Dirty. Smelly. Charged me with a check engine light on. Some man was sleeping in a cot out front. They have smelly intense inside and the workers take the chairs for customers. Shelves are empty inside. Just weird and DIRTY!

Called the owner to ask if they did out of state motorcycle transfers the day before I arrived, he said yes and stopped by the next day at 8am. I arrived the next day at 8am, the owner wasn t there. I called and waited 45mins for him to arrive. He arrived at 8:45 and then told me I had to go to the DMV for motorcycle transfers. I wouldn t recommend this DMV service company

We ve been taking our Porsche 911 here for smog ever since a friend recommended this place. John handles classic cars with extreme care, and is also very kind. Always a pleasant experience.

This place is the best shop in OC. Adam is extremely honest and very helpful. The mechanics are great and they really look out for you. Most places will try to increase the prices or work to be done just to make more money. Not here, they will give you honest feedback and let you know how your car is doing. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I dropped the car off, walked next door for sushi, came back, paid and drove home. It was the most effortless experience- once again.These guys never fail to deliver with their friendly service and helpful work to get you tested, re-registered, and on your way.Worth the trip!

I found Newport Smog on the internet and went to their location on Randolph Street in Costa Mesa. Two thumbs up for this place! First impression on the phone was they were super friendly and welcoming and offered the best pricing. I called many smog places shopping for price and how interested they sounded to have my business. Newport Smog by far was the best one out of the bunch. I can't speak for their Bristol location, but Randolph Street was a pleasant experience. In, out, no waiting, super honest people, and very friendly and nice. Young was the technician who did the test. Great guy, and 5 stars for his integrity.

Went here to get my title transfer for my car purchase. Called ahead to confirm they did that and that I had all the necessary paperwork. Ask how much they charge - $49, reasonable. Get there, the guy asks "You got cash?" no i don't have $1500 in cash. You take credit and debit. "Oh but I won't make any money on this it's too much". Business lost, don't go here.

Recently I went back to Saddleback Smog & Repair for a quick oil change. I had been here before so I knew the service was excellent but recently I purchased a new car from the dealer and decided to use the dealer for awhile. That ended when the dealers service shop was unprofessional and took forever to complete basic maintenance. I must leave my car for 3 hours to get an oil change no way. So I called up Saddleback on a Friday afternoon and was able to bring it in Saturday at 8AM and had my keys in my hand before 9AM. That is truly remarkable service and is why I will be using Saddleback from now on.

This is the best smog facility EVER!! I was at the DMV and had to get a smog test to transfer title to my new car . While I was waiting in line at the DMV I drove over there and he had me in and out in 20 minutes! Passed with a smile .

The owner Ray was super nice, friendly and helpful. Service was quick and professional (only took 20 min start to finish) and cheap too! I will never smog my car anywhere else again.... Thanks guys!

Had a basic smog check done for DMV renewal. The staff were friendly and efficient. We were in and out within 15 minutes.

Great service went in and the test was done in 15 min .. unfortunately it didnt pass because my battery had died a week or so ago .. John told me it should be an easy fix gave me some driving instructions and off i went .. drove around newport for about 15 min and all the indicators that were missing were now showing .. back to the shop and another 10 min later i was done .. not only that i was able to get my new registration and sticker on the spot! id highly recommend this shop!! great customer service and super fast

They having amazing customer service and the owner John is really friendly!!! This place is very efficient. And after only about 15 minutes, they were done. They also do DMV services here, stickers and registration issue right at their office.

Been going to Newport Smog for several years now. They are fast, friendly, and advise you on a failed test on what can be done to pass the next time.Was greeted when a smile, as always, and service was done in no time at all.

This place is fast, convenient, professional, with a good price. Once your car passes smog they do the registration for you right there. You can't beat this place

These guys are the BEST. In an ELITE class of automotive repair. I have taken my 12 year old car to them on a few occassions and each time they have nailed the issue and diagnosis. Mac is great guy. Very trustworthy. High integrity. Prices are very fair. I had what appeared to be a dropped transmission when I pulled my car into reverse before coming to a complete stop. I had to get it towed and was convinced it was going to cost me several $1000's. Mac and Rick (one of his mechanics) agreed at first glance. To my complete surprise Mac called me the next AM and said , "I'm very confident it's not as bad as 1st suspected. We need to get a new Torque Converter and Input Shaft. If I'm wrong, I won't charge you."........ Seriously, who says that???? Literally, by the end of that 2nd day (30 hours later) I was returning my rental car and driving my 12 year old car home..... Out the door I paid less than $575 (tax included). With that said, I'm not kidding when I say it is running better than it has in a couple of years..... Special thanks to Sal as well who did a lot of the actual work......These guys are BEST IN CLASS.

My battery died right before registration was due. I'd heard that a new batter could mess up a smog test and since I only had a limited time, I was worried about not passing and having to drive around more and go back, etc.I called up Newport Smog Test because the service person that helped me with the battery change recommended them. I asked about the new battery problem. I got John on the phone immediately and he said to bring the car in right then and he could do a check for that.I printed out the $10 coupon from their website and ran down. John came out as I pulled up and instantly had a meter hooked up under my dash and read it and said, "it's OK, we can test it."I filled out a form, sat down. Asked John about the battery thing, saying I'd checked on the internet and people were saying I needed to drive 30 to 150 miles, on the freeway or starting and stopping in particular combinations. I'd tried to do that over the previous days, but I was still unsure. John said that battery changes did reset the information needed for smog checks, but not all cars were the same. He ran out to check another car and came back saying that THAT car had been driving around and checked twice before and still needed a bit more driving time, but my car was different.I was so happy to find a friendly, helpful guy. I was out of there in maybe 15 minutes! Paid $51 with the coupon. I am definitely going to them if I need any smogs! And they do a service where they can instantly register the car and give out the stickers, but all I needed to do was go back home and pay on the internet and I was done! So glad to get that over with!!!

Sincerely, the most important is that these guys are honest and will not rip you off!! They work with you and don't charge you for small items. Everyone was very nice and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend these guys. Ask for Adam

Super helpful. My car was too low to get over some of the speed bumps and they had the patience to take care of me, even answered all my question and teach me what they were doing. I would definitely recommend this place.

Dont look anywhere else. You have found your SoCal Mechanic. Mac and his crew are the BEST. Hands down. So many experiences with lackluster mechanics throughout the SoCal area and they have surpassed in every way. I have a 2006 Range Rover with as many issues as anyone could EVER want. Due to the nature of the repairs, they have been weighing on my wallet... but when I went to Mac he walked me through the process (airbags, fuel pump, O2 sensors, valve and timing issues, MULTIPLE transmission issues, etc). I was uncertain at first at the costs so I shopped pricing. Mac always came in on par with what it SHOULD cost not what other shops WANT it to cost. Recently I rebuilt my transmission and shopped for a better price than in OC. I took it to Glendale immediately regretted not sticking with Saddleback. Mac and his team never gouge and never do only half-ass work. I saved a fraction of the cost of going with Mac and wish I had not. I wish I paid a little more to have the service and support they provide.Mac's customer service is bar none and ALWAYS honest. Hes an amazing guy and his team follows suit. I would recommend everyone to Mac, and I currently have my mother and wife going to him. Mac specializes in the beautiful, the lightly used, the tough and the rough. This establishment is a gem.

we went there to get our smog check and registration done with out of state plates. John was really really helpful in doing all the paper work, he was able to get us CA plates by next day. I worked around our schedule I will highly recommend working with him

Amazing service!!!!! The gentleman was very helpful and polite when we got VIN number inspected. We found out that we could have gotten smog inspection cheaper here rather than another place. I would definitely recommend this business!!!!!!
