I was searching for an alternative option to take my car to get serviced and finally made an appointment with C & F in Costa Mesa. John was very helpful and completely understood what I needed to keep my Audi A6 TDI running smooth! I had an oil change, Adblue topped off, 65K mile inspection and filters replaced throughout. Price was very reasonable for the amount of work and the car was ready on time.C&F was definitely a better deal than the Audi dealer service center. Highly recommend calling John at C&F!

Highly recommend C&F Auto. I trust them to be honest with what my car needs, they get the work done in a very timely and cost effective manner, they are kind and give clear explanation and have your best interest at heart. I will continue to return here for all my European car service needs.

Very happy with the service here! It's been tough finding a reliable and honest mechanic. Previous mechanics don't actually fix the problem but it's a very different story with C&F. I wouldn't use anyone else if you value your vehicle, money and honest labor.

My Audi service was due and I waited last minute to take care of it. I tried to schedule an appointment at the nearby Audi dealerships but they were all booked till next month. I then gave Beach house imports a call, they said they were no longer working on that platform and redirected me to C&F Auto and John.When I gave C&F Auto a call John was there to answer my call and give me the good news that he could schedule an appointment for me the next day! I scheduled the appointment and it went very well, the process was easy I was informed that my car would be ready the next day. When I picked up my car I was very pleased to see that my rear window was fixed and the service indicator was no longer showing.I highly recommend this shop to people who have a German automobile. I also got to talk to John about my car more in depth and I trust his opinion, he really cares about the customer and their car and not making money. I asked him about turbocharging and upgrading certain parts in my car but he was very honest and steered me into the right path; in that my car doesn't need all that work and I just need to stay on top of my maintenanceServices: Auto power window repair, Auto maintenance, Oil change

I brought my 2012 Porsche Cayenne to C&F Auto Repair in Costa Mesa because I had a coolant leak. They found the problem instantly. Replaced the water pump, belt and a couple of other minor issues. I was so happy in their quick repair work and the price was thousands below the dealership would have charged. I highly recommend them. I m not taking my car anywhere else.

I have owned my 1966 912 Porsche for 50 years and am very particular about who services my car. Having moved to the Newport/Costa Mesa area 11 years ago I've been to several of the Porsche specialty shops during the first 6 years in the area and then found C&F on the referral of a very satisfied 356 Porsche owner 5 years ago. I now have all my maintenance done by John as he always has been straight forward about the cost of the work and the quality equals or exceeds many of the higher priced specialty repair shops in the area. He and his staff always take care that the car's exterior and interior are kept clean and protected during the it's stay at his shop. John knows his business and personally supervises all the work he and his crew have done, often doing the work himself. Need I say more!

I asked for a diagnostics test for a 2014 BMW and the customer service representative would not provide a written estimate for the cost of the test. When I asked if I would receive a copy of the report I was told I could not get a printed or pdf version, they would send pictures through text message. They are not helpful or cooperative, wouldn t recommend.

This is one of the most honest mechanic shops I have experienced. I have taken my Mini Cooper S in here about 4 or 5 times over the past 3 years to get various things looked at. Paul, the previous owner, and now John have turned me away each time saying I didn't need to do anything yet.The first time I went to them was in the beginning of 2014 to take a look at my clutch. Prior to that visit, another mechanic had told me I needed to get my clutch done ASAP and made it seem like it needed to be done within the next few months otherwise it make things worse. I was worried because that is such an expensive job on my Mini. I decided to get a second opinion and found C & F from their reviews online. When I went there they reassured me that I have a lot of life left on my clutch. Here I am, over 3.5 years later, and my clutch is still in great shape and John still tells me I don't need it yet.Recently, I went in because there was a noise when I would turn my car. Again, John was very helpful and explained everything to me. He gave me a couple options based on if I was going to keep the car long-term or not. He is very consultative, telling me the pros and cons of waiting to get work done on the car or doing it soon, and I never felt pressured to get any work done.Almost 4 years later, and I am finally going to get work done by them. I trust C&F and would highly recommend them!

Before I bought my 997 I was referred to John by Glenn at Glenn's Alignment. I went over to introduce myself to John and had a great time chatting and seeing his shop. After I got the car I went back to John to have him fix up a few things and to see how he operates. My main thing is trust - does a mechanic give me sensible advice, does he discuss his thought process with me, does he charge reasonable rates for the task at hand. My experience so far with John is that yes, he does all those things. I'll be back to John's shop for future work and I won't hesitate to refer other Porsche owners to him as well.

My husband needed to get his car looked at and I had called around to so many people who either, couldn t help or had horrible customer service. John at c & f auto always had a great attitude and was pleasant to talk to. My husband went and got his car serviced, and he couldn t be happier. Our experience was 10/10.Go see John!

Best place to service your BMW (or foreign car) !!!John and the team came recommended to me after I purchased my BMW 428i.Being in sales, I put 400-500 miles/month on my vehicle and trust John and team for ALL my servicing. In Jan 2019, I relocated up to LA, and still drive to Costa Mesa to get my vehicle serviced - If you want the best servicing, honest feedback and recommendations, and timely work, ask for John at C & F. you will be super happy! I have a 1990 VW Vanagon. John and the crew at C&F Auto know their stuff and do great work. They are super friendly, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to make sure your vehicle is serviced correctly. Very happy with the reasonable prices, customer service, communication, and quality of work. Will keep going back.

John, the owner, was quick with email replies. And was able to schedule me in quickly.I brought my VW here because I was told elsewhere I needed my brakes done.John communicated that they were fine and was open and honest, gave his time freely and was kind. I'll be back soon for regular maintenance.

A Xenon headlight bulb went bad on my 2014 Volkswagen which I found very difficult to replace on my own. After a quick search online for VW/Audi repair shops in Costa Mesa I found C & F Auto and spoke to John who was very helpful. He asked me to stop by the shop and in less than 30 minutes they installed 2 brand new Xenon headlights. Not only was I satisfied with the service but the price was totally on point. I ve been a customer of C&F Auto for about 25 years, through service of my 1990 VW Westfalia Vanagon. Three things are important to me when choosing an auto shop: quality of repair work; honesty of the people; and value/costs of the repairs. All three criteria bring me back to C&F Auto.First with Paul, the prior owner and now continuing with John, I have always received outstanding service. Their work has ranged from repair of electric windows to rebuilding the motor and transmission. I ve also had brake jobs, cooling system maintenance, and many other minor and not-so-minor repairs along the way.The work has always been prompt and affordable, and has kept my VW running happily.I remain a regular customer, and a highly satisfied one.Richard

John at C&F has been working to bring my 89 vanagon back to her former glory. They installed a beefed up GoWesty rebuilt engine, and have dialed in the cooling system, suspension, and lots of other odds and ends. Bottom line is they got our vanagon running like new again. I never thought I'd see the day when I could confidently drive my vanagon to Yosemite. We recently made the trip with no issues even when returning through the desert in temps exceeding 100 degrees! C&F's honesty and fair pricing is top notch. Thank you to John and his crew for excellent work!

I just needed to clear some codes, but did not have the tool for that. Not only did they clear the codes for me, they were quick, super friendly and did it practically for free. This is all the more impressive considering the dealer quoted me $190 for the same thing (connecting a computer and clicking a couple buttons).

This shop does great work. The owner is as honest as they come and prices are much lower than my previous mechanic. They troubleshoot so I don't get stranded on the road. I've always been treated with honesty and respect here.
