Be aware that Black Forest was sold recently. Zach, Angelina, and Jason have moved to Idaho. The new owner kept my BMW in the lot for a week with no phone call. They did not address any of my requests, and gave me a huge estimate for repairs with no evidence they had even put the car up for inspection. This was my repair shop of choice for many years. It is only the same in name. Overbooked and overpriced. Others I have spoken with have also left. The reviews are not current. Do not recommend

After moving to the area, I needed to find a new shop for my 2008 e93 328i. I stumbled upon Black Forest Independent BMW, who at the time already had great reviews. I call them up for your typical oil service. Very friendly staff and always up for the challenge of getting you in as soon as possible. I showed up, within 15 minutes, my car was up on a lift and being worked on. I was allowed to stay and look at the underside of my car, which I appreciated. Ever since, Ive brought my car back to their shop twice, once for a vibration they were able to diagnose, expensive but they were correct and have never tried to sell me anything I did not need. I believe is was a coolant pump electrical issue. The last time I visited was today. I had done spark plugs and ignition coils on my own since I had a misfire on cylinder #5. After doing the work myself, I found myself now with a misfire on #4 and #5. I call Black Forest Independent BMW and even on their busiest day, they told me to swing by. Juan takes a look at my work and tells me that I did not tighten and snap on the wires to the coils all the way. Car is now back on the road working beautifully. This is an amazing shop, it feels like family, and I will continue to bring my BMW to them. Thank you!!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

I just had my oil change done on my BMW 328i and they did it quickly and at a fair price. Randy, Angelina and his team are really nice. They checked the fluids, tire pressure and even checked my fuse box for no additional charge. It is my first visit to the shop and looking forward to return for additional services. Thank you!Update! 2020We sold our BMW and no longer have to deal with expensive maintenance and parts.

Born and raised in Newport Beach and have owned several different makes and models of BMW's. They are definitely my ultimate driving machine! I have never been to a shop who specializes in BMW's who take such pride in their work. These guys are a family who truly care about their customers. They charge the lowest labor rate ANYWHERE hands down unless of course you go to a shop near the border. The SPECIALIZE in BMW's which makes me extremely confident. Add to this the fact that I've never had to bring the same car back twice for the same thing. Fixed right the first time. They even throw little extras in. Had a tail light out, they replaced it no charge. The guys all have a great sense of humor too! I believe Angelina is related as well but no longer there. She was definitely a positive addition and had me in tears laughing so hard with her witty and down to earth personality. I see how it runs in the family! Keep up the stellar work guys! I will continue to refer and will be in for scheduled maintenance in a couple of weeks! Thanks! J.

Angelina and Jason were absolutely amazing! They were both so friendly and patient, and their prices are very reasonable. They are both so very knowledgable about BMWs, and you can tell that they really care about their customers and treat them all like family.I came here for the first time for a brake fluid flush on my 535i, however, Jason went above and beyond! He spent time answering all of my general questions about BMWs, and even spent time teaching me a few things! This place is truly a trustworthy and honest independent mechanic shop, and I certainly intend on coming back here for as long as I own a BMW. I left a little shocked as to how genuinely great their service was. Thank you Black Forest for all of your help!

Update: This was my 1st visit! They've got a new customer.My car is out of warranty & after checking with numerous ppl, this biz was highly recommended.1st impression: Angelina & Jason (owners) of this long family-owned biz, presemt & involved with a smile. 5 star rating for service. I showed up with an issue on my BMW and Daniel took the time to help me out tremendously. I went to 4 mechanics and none were able to help me like he did. Same with the lady on the phone I believe Angelina (sorry if that s wrong). All around best service in town and most willing to help.

I have known Randy for about 30 years, and he has worked on a 1971 and 1973 2002 models. I live in Las Vegas now and when I needed someone to work on my cars, Black Forest and Randy was my preference. Randy is very knowledgeable about BMW. HE IS VERY HONEST. If I buy another BMW I WILL DRIVE IT TO COSTA MESA AND HAVE RANDY DO ANY REPAIRS NEEDED. RANDY HAS VERY HIGH INTEGRITY AND CAN BE TRUSTED.

When it comes to BMW repair, especially for all those "legacy" BMWs that the dealers are loathe to work on...go to the Black Forest...the ancestral home of the BMW species! Really! Randy and his crew are great!
