A bunch of greedy Crooks! Towed my vehicle when it shouldn t have been towed. They towed it 1 mile to their yard and had it there for an hour and charged me over $500, I raced to get there before they closed and made it 15 min early. When I told them they re basically ripping me off and I m going to leave a bad review he told me that now I m going to have to wait until after Thanksgiving weekend. Police came and said there s nothing they could do and they have A LOT of problems with this company. Save yourself the headache and stress, give your money to an honest company!

So very great full for my tow truck driver, Micah. I feel like I have a new friend in the world. Laughter, stories, and comradely were happily shared on the 45mile ride from Corning to Redding. Micah is truly a compassionate/good guy and seems to live with his heart forward. If you are blessed enough to ride with him treat him in kind. And by that I mean, give him a tip. Life is expensive. ;)

This company was HORRENDOUS! If you can use a different company in the area, please save yourself the stress. Here s my tale- My husband and I had an issue with our vehicles alternator (8/6/22) and needed the car towed home so we can have it serviced the next day. AAA connected us with Phil s towing who was already rude & short over the phone when we were trying to explain the situation & told us the tow wouldn t be covered because our vehicle is lowered. We said fine we ll cover the cost, (which was $250 for 6 miles!) but please bring a trailer bc the car is only 3 inches off the ground. He said he had what we needed. When he shows up, he didn t bring what was needed and said we would have to wait another 30+ mins to get the right truck. We had already waited over 2 hours for him to come. I was on the phone with my parents who were coming to help too and they asked to speak with him about the issue to see if we could find a faster solution. He told them we didn t tell him about the truck and condescendingly asked if we spoke English because we obviously don t understand what s happening. I m white but my husband is Mexican.. never at any point did someone speak something other than English. So ignorant. After we said that it wasn t necessary to be rude, he threw my phone back at me and told us to find someone else and left us stranded past 11pm to wait for my parents. I still can t believe how rude this man was and why someone feels they can treat others in this manner.Service: Car towing

Locked my keys in my car when visiting Rolling Hills Casino. When I called AAA road service, I was told that I had used all my road calls until renewal next month. (months of car trouble and shops putting in bad parts ate up my allowed calls) Ok so I asked how much for an AAA person to come out, I will pay them. Was told we can not help with that. So they gave me the # to a lock smith-waste of time. I called several tow companies listed. Either they did not answer, no one was available or they said leave a message but voicemail was not set up or was full!Got to Phil's Towing. Really nice voice answered, she got me a price of $95* and said the guy was going to be in the area. Done.**A and A Towing wanted $130!Mark found me and we learned that a Honda Pilot is a little stubborn when it comes to trying to unlock it without your key. But Mark got it done and was such a nice gentleman. He kept me talking to pass the time, let me warm up in the truck while he did the paperwork, made being locked out not so bad.Thank you Phil's Towing in Corning CA for being so helpful, solving my problem, having the best price and for the fast response. And a huge thanks to Mark for being such a knight in a shinny tow truck.

So i was in an accident. pretty bad damage. head on crash. i used AAA. Phil's towing showed up and towed my car. I had Phil's towing keep my car on their storage area for over 10 days. The storage fees were building up because my insurance company was waiting on the police report to determine who was at fault. My Insurance company was not doing good business. i ended up going to the lot to have my car towed back to my house until the insurance figured out how to take care of their customers. Phils towing did not charge me for the storage fee's out of pocket. i felt really taken care of after feeling horrible about the situation. thank youService: Car towing

We have been doing business with Phil's towing for years. They are always helpful and the owners are kind hearted people. We have large service vehicles that sometimes get stuck in odd places out in the mud long distances from the road. They have always bailed us out when we get in a predicament. Earl and Rosie Peterson are very sweet people. They bring us cookies to the office and give our techs ice cream. They have always charged us fair prices and are great members of the community.

My insurance forwarded me to this company when I needed a tow. The woman who answered the phone was apathetic and snide and they quoted me an absurd price and said it's because they "didn't know exactly where was between Red Bluff and Corning, Southbound on I5." That's quite literally a very small strip of I5 AND I had my exact Longitude and Latitude

Let me just say i have towed for AAA for 15 years.. so i do understand how tow companies work... and as a Independent Contractor for AAA you have to meet certain criteria. I was charged $544 to get my car back... rediculess... said i was charge almost $400 for the CHP rate tow.... funny thing is... CHP was not on seen.. and my truck was never hooked up to any tow truck.. PHILS TOWING DROVE MY CAR ACROSS THE STREET TO THERE YARD.... AAA does not like the image of certain dirtytow companies... not saying Phil's TOWING is . I dont know them that well. But i was a victim when it was stolen. And i victim when it was driven across the street for nearly 400 dollar charge... thank you to corning PD for the fast acting officer the recovered my car...

My vehicle was taken without permission on Saturday. It was subsequently impounded by TCSO, towed and stored by Phil's Towing. Located at 714 2nd St. Corning, CA 96021. When I contacted the company on Saturday, I was told it would be $500+ to retrieve my vehicle as it was a weekend. However, after calculating the charges it was actually cheaper to wait until Monday. I went to retrieve my vehicle this morning. Charges $533. After standing at the"Service" window for 10 minutes, an elderly lady (the owner's wife Rozetta Peterson) finally acknowledged my presence and stated that (the owner's son, Mark Peterson) would be with me shortly. It should be noted that when I arrived, employee/son was sitting at the desk doing nothing, but then shortly received a phone call. When I asked the owner's son, why they were almost $200 more than any other tow company. He stated, very rudely, "Can't you read? The charges are on the wall. " I admitted that "yes, I can read. I'm asking you to explain why you are charging more than the other local towing companies." Response: "Well, if you can read then read the wall!" I loudly informed them, "that the wall did not explain their justification for being close to $200 more than anywhere else!" They then refused to release my vehicle. There was no hold from the TCSO and I had cash in hand. They refused to accept payment. I was then told to leave and they refused to release my vehicle. I took my keys, attempted to leave the building. They attempted to take the keys from me, but I refused. By law, CA Vehicle code 22651, I have a right to retrieve my property as long as I present a valid ID, which they had. As they were refusing payment and refusing to release my property, I felt justified confiscating the keys. I was subsequently locked in the facility by the son. They also refused to allow my companion to leave the building. I attempted to leave through an office and narrowly escaped being locked in the room. The owner's wife then assaulted me. My friend thankfully had dialed 911. The owner's wife stated they had video survelliance and I would be arrested for going into a "Private" office. By this time you can imagine that voices are raised. I informed her that I was more than happy to have the officers arrive, as "you assaulted me, have unlawfully imprisoned me and are illegally withholding my property." She then had the audacity to state that I had assaulted her. I reminded her that she had "video surveillance", let's pull the tape. She then went into the office, I can only presume to destroy evidence and quickly returned, stating it was their word against ours. I asked her if she stopped the recording or deleted the tape? She denied these actions. Officers arrived, my companion and I were allowed to wait outside while officers spoke with the Owner's. The officer then retrieved the money for the fees from me and had my vehicle released to me. I stated to the officers I wanted to press charges. I was told I could do that, but it was mine and my companion's word against theirs. I explained that the owner's wife stated they had video surveillance and I wanted the tape pulled. The office stated he would "try" to get the tape. Then suggested I'd have better results reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I again, reiterated that i wanted to press charges for assault and unlawful imprisonment and theft. I attempted to file a complaint with the BBB, but since it involves a criminal act I was redirected to local law enforcement. I have been a law abiding citizen of this town for 27 years, a home owner and propery tax payer for 10 years. I've never even had a traffic violation. To be treated so dispicablly, as if I were a criminal, as if I should be grateful, bow down and lick their boots, when it was my vehicle that was stolen, my property seized by the TCSO and to be charged so outrageously to retrieve my property is atrocious. I understand they have been businesses owners in this community for decades, but this behavior is unlawful, unethical and immoral.

Ridiculously evil rip-off of a place. $100+ per mile to help CHP sidestep my free AAA towing on my stolen car, plus $73/day until payday. To pick up a car that's been totalled and has to be scrapped anyway. Completely dishonorable scammers, and I hope they burn for eternity for their acts of wanton evil against theft victims.

As a Former Driver For Phils Towing, I can say that it is mainly Triple-A based "AAA" with those calls reigning priority over other calls they do come first.Secondly, not speaking just as a Former Driver but as a neutral party Earl & Mark along with each and every other driver arrive as punctual as possible remember your call isn't the only call on the roster at times along with that not every driver is in the shop nor on call and some do have days off.If there's more than 4 or 5 calls at any given time it's kind of hard to get to everyone with a quickness but do know that they are coming when they say they are coming, they do try their best.As a Former Driver & a still current driver for another company I can easily say, it's a tedious process and one can only go so fast.I've learned allot from earl & Mark along woth a few others. They deserve An A plus 5 star rating. If I trust anyone with my vehicle it's them surly.
