Good service. Well run transmission business. Westley the owner/manager runs a tight ship. He s a no-nonsense guy who has over 38 years in the transmission business. He offers you several options as he did to me for my 24yr old Chrysler Town & Country Van and his analysis was spot on. One unique feature which AAMCO Concord offers is to include the costs of diagnostic and tear down towards a rebuild or new transmission avoiding double or overcharge. He even offered me an installation of a used transmission which saved me even more money. His work order was extremely detailed explaining all evaluations, work done and parts installed with clear pricing. No added costs without authorization. Westley also has experts with years of experience in installation and rebuilding transmissions. His office assistant Cecilia is probably the kindest person one could ever meet who is also very efficient with good organizational skills. I m very glad I chose AAMCO Concord. Great experience!

So let me first say I m not a car tech saavy guy so please understand when I say I didn t know I didn t know.A month ago I take my car ( a Lexus ) to Lexus dealer to have my car looked at due to possible transmission issues. As told by themI needed to have it replaced for the price of $7500. As they told me this I looked to my right and I noticed anAAMCO across the street. So I got in the car and quickly went across the street( quickly meaning 10mph for obvious reason lol)I was quickly greeted with a smile from the nice lady at the front desk. She was very nice and had nothing but great things to say about the team. I left the car there and they gave me two options a rebuild or a Remanufactured one both, are cheaper prices than Lexus. We discusssed a rebuild but they needed to confirm the damage before they can make their recommendation. We causally talked about it being 230 in price to inspect and will apply it to either option I choose as there were small differences in prices. Keep in mind both prices were respectable and reasonable. Also remember I stated earlier I don t know what it takes to break down and build a transmissionAfter a week I decided let s just take it back to Lexus and called the AAMCO team I changd my mind. They asked me 2-3 times if I m sure and my idiot self said yes. They obliged and put it back together. After a week when I arrived to pay the 230 It was actually $2300. You should have seen my face . I looked like I had muppets eyes. So as I share my thoughts with them ( not being a ken or Karen ) both party calmly exchanged our points of view. I was willing to pay for my stupidity but they also understood my situation and conceded that they wanted my business AND WAIVED THE $2300 of labor and work and kept the price as planned. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS REALLY WHO!!! If I wanted to do the work with them they wouldn t add 1 penny to the time and labor they loss over my ignorance! I m happy and proudly paying them for the quote and I m feeling guilty on how empathetic they were to me. In these tough times with rising costs, I cannot believe there are still business s out here doing honorable, and respectable work with awesome customer service with a smile . If you are seeking a repair or seeking a good honest technician. This is the spot!!!!! If I can give 10 stars I would.Btw I flew home a day earlier to pay them and headed to get my car as I write this.SincerelyHappy customer

Took my truck to AAmco in Concord,ca., for a transmission evaluation. After the truck was with them for more than 1 day they call to discuss my transmission. I was then told that there were metal shavings in the pan, the valve body was leaking and there were pieces of friction plate and brass in the pan as well. I asked for them to put it back together, and was told that the charge was $360 at this point, meaning there would be more charges by the time they were finished ( the written estimate was for $120.00). They also asked me If I would be interested in selling the truck. They wanted $7300.00 for a rebuilt transmission, + $1400.00 for removal of the old transmission and installation of the new one, for a total of $8700.00. They also offered to rebuild the existing transmission in their shop. They couldn't tell me what their shop rebuild would cost, only it would be less expensive then a factory rebuild. I am still driving this vehicle and I will update this review once the transmission is repaired/replaced.update: AAMCO prices are in line with market pricing. Labor rates are inflated as everything is at this time. I didn't like being asked to pay nearly 3x+ more than what was agree upon in their work order. It's aggravating that repair cost have doubled in just a few short years.

Wesley the service tech was informative despite not being able to recreate the issues with my vehicle, he told me what to watch for going forward. The fees charged for diagnostics is good for 30 days in the event my vehicle does what the tech thinks it will do! Be patient, they are short handed and dealing with supply chain issues but I was told up front! Much appreciated!Service: Transmission

I had the absolute worst experience here! I was first told they needed $80 do diagnose the problem, then I was told that they needed $300 to diagnose the problem, THEN I was told they needed $1,300 to diagnose the problem. I declined to pay the $1,300 and asked if they would take a $100 off the $300. This guy starts yelling at me on the phone and he was degrading me as person saying horrible things about me. I told him that they had said with the $300 they would be able to diagnose the issue. All of the sudden he starts rattling off all the things that were wrong with the car. I tell him, I wrote everything down that you have said to me and you never told me that. He starts yelling at me again. Obviously he tried to screw over the wrong gal because I caught him in his lie. This entire interaction was unprofessional and am surprised they are still in business. Unfortunately I m still out that $300 that could go very far right now with Covid. They are overcharging people!!!

Transmission started acting up on my daughter's 99' VW Cabrio and AAMCO did me right. I was able to get the car to limp along to the Market and Broadway AAMCO in Concord so I utilized the envelope drop box on a Saturday and was called back on Monday. Each step, diagnostic, then opening up the transmission to assess the valve body, was discussed prior to the work with no surprise fees. In the end, the value of the car wasn't worth pursuing additional work so they freshened the fluid, sealed it all back up, and I picked up the car with the original problem gone. It's possible the transmission is worn, but for now I have a working car with little spent, but more importantly, I have a transmission shop I feel has been honest with me and I can trust. Tom explained options each step of the way and did not try and convince me to throw good money after bad and matched their service with my needs. I highly recommend this shop for their competence and trustworthiness.Service: Transmission

My wife s Nissan was having acceleration problems took it to the dealer and fIrst they told her that she had to drive with traction control off at which point I knew the dealership had no clue what they were doing. Next they told her it would be 7500+ dollars to replace the transmission. On a recommendation I took it to concord AAMCO and dealt with Wesley. He was very professional yet friendly, knowledgeable and kept me up-to-date every step of the way. In less than one week they validated the transmission did need to be replaced and explained all costs upfront before any work was done. Just picked the car up today and it s driving great.I had called around and got estimates from a few other transmission shops and AAMCOs price point came in equal to or less than others so I d consider them an honest shop.I ve never dealt with AAMCO personally before and since I just picked up the car I can t really speak to quality yet, but from my impressions dealing with Wesley I feel they will stand behind their work should any issues arise (plus I got the warranty).

This place is a dishonest place; had to call in to find out what was up after they had my car for a week; If it was possible to give negative stars I would. My experience with this place has been nothing short of a nightmare! I had my transmission replaced, and three weeks later my car is doing the EXACT same thing it did before they replaced the transmission; there is a person at the counter named Tom ~ he actually yelled at me the first time I came to the shop; If my car had been drivable I probably would have left but the staff person named Cecilia came out to where I was filling out the form to leave my car (so I could go to work) and acknowledged that Tom has no customer service skills. The irony was that I had called two evenings prior and spoke with the owner who was pleasant enough and we set an appointment for me to have my car towed there on Friday morning at 9:00am; when that Tom guy was yelling at me I told him that I had an appointment and he said "we don't take appointments on Fridays" and this is when I asked him if I could speak to Wes; Wes came from some back office area and I told him that I would just like to leave the car and is there a form I could fill out and then they could call me later once they took a look at my towed in car. He gave me the form that was sitting right there on the counter (why on earth did this Tom person feel compelled to spew out these weird statements about the "state of California" this and that ~ why not just give me the form). My car is not operable since July 5, 2021 and they have not responded to the email I sent them on July 6; when I called on July 7th I asked to speak with Cecilia and Tom refused to transfer me; I have since contacted an 800 number that is in Pennsylvania called Aamco Customer Relations where someone named Mike there returned my call but we have been playing phone tag.I am so worried and stressed that if my car is back at this Aamco Concord, it will be another bad repair job and I will have to deal with this unprofessionalism. I can't bear it. Today I called the Customer Relations agent Mike and got his voice mail; I asked if I can take it to another Aamco in the area ~ still waiting to hear back from him.RUN FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACEService: Transmission

Took our car in left for two days. We had to call in to find out what was up and they said it was torque converter, we didn't let them fix it. We picked up the car and the gas was gone! Took it to A1 transmission and it wasnt the torque converter it needed new transmission. The guy at A1 is awesome. Fixed car in very timely manner. I WOULD NEVER TAKE MY CAR TI AAMCO

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. I WOULD HAVE GIVEN ZERO STARS IF THAT WAS AN OPTION!!I wish I had read the other 1 star reviews before I brought my car here. I brought my car in for an oil change and a radiator fix. After, having them perform a diagnostic test of the engine and the radiator, they ended up recommending to have my whole radiator replaced along with my thermostat and verified my engine was in sound condition. When I picked the car up, they tried to charge me full price for parts/items that I had given them. For example they tried to charge me for two coolant jugs, when I supplied one of the jugs. Then within less than two weeks, I started to noticed that my car started experiencing overheating problems. When I looked under the hood of my car, I noticed that the shop had broken a piece of the new radiator when they were installing it. I bought some high temperature epoxy to create a seal around the broken piece. Immediately after sealing the broken piece, the overheating stopped. I wanted to check to see if my head gasket was still intact, but the overheating incident blew my head gasket. I set-up a meeting with the owner to discuss possible options. He claimed that they weren't at fault for the any damage done to the car and proceeded to offer for them to fix the head gasket for $2,500 on the low end. He also stated that the part that they broke couldn't have anything to do with the blown head gasket. Clearly he doesn't know what he is talking about, because the overheating stopped after the broken part was sealed, and the fact the broken part is part of the engine cooling system. I had my head gasket repaired at another shop and it works great now with no problems. In going back and reading the reviews, 10 (now 11) out of 21 reviews are 1 Star and the 5 Star reviews are either for oil changes or customer service from the office. However, the 1 Star reviews are for rebuild, transmission, and radiator jobs, all of which are the bigger jobs compared to a simple oil change (which are overpriced as well).I am really disappointed in Aamco for not owning up to their mistakes because my normal Aamco in Campbell, CA is a great location and has really competent staff. The only reason I went to this one is that, I moved far enough away that it doesn't make sense for me to drive my car all the way there. However, with this overall experience, Aamco has lost me as a customer. All in all, be prepared to take a gamble with this place, if you are having a major repair done.

A few years back Ive brought my 05 Scion tC which was having problems, their was loose wiring under the steering after getting a after market radio installed by frys electronic. They kept my vehicle to diagnose the issues. I went the next morning with a fixed vehicle. Did not not charge me for it.9-11-18I bring my second vehicle a Honda Civic 09 to get it looked at because the check light engine turned on, on my way to work. The diagnosis came back with a code for a coolant issue. I was told it could be $525 to fix the problem if the check light engine turns back on after the initial diagnosis. But, after a few minutes they fix the vehicle. I m very happy with the results and would like to recommend them to anyone. The staff was very attentive and kind5 stars

Had a rebuild of a transmission done here. Within a couple three weeks began to slip again. I checked the fluid and realized it was almost over flowing. Went back and luckily I had the warranty because if not their shotty work would not have been fixed for free. Went back to pick up the car after the second rebuild and was told how sorry they were and that they didn't have their number one builder on it and had to much fluid and over pressurized the system. Which begs the question why have someone at a transmission shop who cannot build a 4T65-E, a transmission used in 45 different applications. Just recently got under my car for an unrelated issue and realized that they used screw (worm) hose clamps in lieu of a proper hose with a fitting on it. This a backyard thing, I didn't pay what I did for a backyard fix. In time when the hose begins to dry the clamp will cut into the hose and will also make it crack from the pressure of being clamped in a small area. As that begins to happen the line will not be able to hold pressure. I called and they said that was perfectly acceptable. I do A LOT of hydraulic work and know why clamps like this will not work. What would they car though, you only pay double of anywhere else. In all honesty go to a dealer garage. They have experience in your particular car instead of general knowledge of components.

I first went to AAMCO to get a routine transmission oil change. When they got my truck up on the rack, they found a leak and told me I should take it to the dealer to get it fixed because my vehicle was still under warranty. After I had the leak repaired I brought my truck back to AAMCO for the oil change and they charged me half the cost that the dealership charges! The whole time I was treated with the utmost respect and the staff there was very courteous. I will be a returning customer.

I took my car in to find out how my transmission got worn out. I had just had a total tune up and was confused as I always had tune ups on time. I asked the mechanic who did the servo e on my car why were the lights coni g on, and what is the noise. He assured me that my car was alright although I knew something strange was going on. To fast forward just as I expected, the "AAMCO" mechanic checked and told me their findings. "THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO FLUID IN MY CAR" which caused the transmission to give out. I am looking for a used transmission so I can drive my car again. The statue of limitation (1 year) passed because I have been and had several deaths in my family. I'm still looking forward to suing in small claims court and reporting to ALL groups and agencies who will take my complaint. BBB, Consumer Affairs, YELP, etc., etc.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! They had my car for 2 weeks. The price to have my transmission looked at went from $85 to $380 to $980. Through out the whole process the communication was horrible. The entire time I only spoke to the receptionist/office manager and when I asked if the technician looking at my car would call me she told me he was too busy. After the first week she told me that they were short on technicians and it would be another week before they could tell me what was wrong. The first week I was told that there was absolutely no water damage to the transmission because "their technicians are extremely thorough and water is the first thing they looked for". When they asked me to approve the $980 I told them I was not paying $5000 for a rebuild. I was told that it would be nowhere near that and that was closer to the price the dealer would charge me which is the only reason I approved the $980. She also quoted me the price of a transmission from the dealer at $3300 so of course their price would be much lower she assured me. So the second week I receive a call from what I assume is the shop manager. I don't recall his name. I tells me he was gone the previous week and asks me to come down to go over their diagnosis. My boyfriend and I go down there and my transmission is on a cluttered table. At one point the "builder" had to remove parts of another car that were for some reason all mixed up with my transmission parts on the table. As for water damage proof, all the builder showed me was a disc that, according to him, had damage to the seal. I didn't see it. They also said that the metal had been from my torque converter which was bad. That was it. We asked the "builder" if he would replace the torque converter and speed sensor, which was throwing the error code. He said yes, he would try to do that to save us some money. But the shop manager was not having it. As soon as we went back into the office, he blurts out it was going to be $5500 for a rebuild and he would not replace just the converter and speed sensor. I never even got a chance to look at the estimate if there was even one prepared. He then said that he called the dealer and a new transmission was $3900. Once again much different than what I was told the previous week. By the end of the 2nd week I had my car towed out of there nothing repaired, with my transmission in a box now in my backseat and out $680. Their shop is a real mess too. Tons of old transmissions and parts are stacked up the walls with clutter everywhere.I have never experienced such dishonesty. Real scam artists. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!!!

Truck was acting funny and a check engine light was on. Another shop told me I needed thousands of dollars in repairs so I decided on a second opinion. Aamco Concord got me right in and within a couple of hours figured out what the problem was and it was not going to cost even $500 to repair. The staff is very friendly knowledgeable and helpful, I can't recommend them enough! Thanks Aamco Concord!
