We love going to Coloma and have been going for nearly 15 years. With it being so close to Sacramento, it's a great weekend getway. Sherry and her team always makes us feel like "family" from the time we make our reservations to checkout time. It's truly a wonderful place to stay. Thanks, Sherry!Nearby activities: The river is great and we enjoy walking into town.

My favorite place to glamp! RV spaces are fabulous and the river is amazing. Service is always great! We haven't had the need to rent a cottage but they look really cozy.Nearby activities: White water rafting is available near buy. My family likes to bring our own tubes and go tubing down the river on a hot summer day.Walkability: Nice little restaurant across the bridge with a farm to table menu. They also serve ice cream.Food & drinks: On certain days, Coloma sells shaved ice.Noteworthy details: Coloma RV resort also has live entertainment (singer) during the summer months. Its really a fun place to go glamping!

This was our first stay at the resort but certainly won't be our last.We picked site 100 with full hookups and best of all a lot of shade. Unfortunately we had a loud camp next to us. Even though we were in an RV site the management allowed 4 adults to pitch tents, thought that was odd but when we noticed they were part of a group that had rented two cabins close by. No doubt their group had a very good time, to somewhat of our dismay. Let's just say they gave campers a bad reputation. Now this resort has everything. Really built for big groups. We think next time we will for go the full hookups for the sites with electricity and wster that are just above the beautiful American River.

If I was rating just the scenery and backdrop it would get a 5. We stayed in a bunkhouse room as our 5th wheel was too tall to fit under the bridge coming into the park. Our room is like a dated motel 6 that was abandoned. Some outlets and lights did not work. The no pressure shower leaked all over the bathroom. The heater kicked on around 3AM and it set off the smoke alarm. The room smelled musky and like someone smoked in the room. This was definitely not worth $200 per night.

Management does not respond. Don't make any mistakes or you will be "banned". There was a issue where we left our keys and belongings in the pool area (our first night ever being there) and the doors locked. My husband hopped the fence to grab our stuff. Apparently, that means both my family and our friends are no longer allowed to go there. They never spoke with us and told us, just didn't send us the link to re-book. I have tried to contact them MULTIPLE times. If they want to not let us back there for something like that fine (although I find it quite silly), but why ban our friends as well? Maybe by leaving this, management will actually return my calls and emails like their staff mentioned they would do.

Coloma Resort is located in the Gold City it has so much history, I visited the Blacksmith House, 2 elderly men was explaining how metal was shss as per and formed. I also visited the Historical Monroe House, a very nice lady Faye explained how the Monroe Family settled in the area. Then I visited the museum and learned how and where gold was originally found. Well worth coming here and learning history of California. By the way the day I visited there was a vintage car show. AwesomeWalkability: Great every building is walking distanceNoteworthy details: Learn history of Gold

Last year the cabin we got needed to be cleaned before we could enjoy it. This year it was spotless! Last year we ran out of towels and TP. This year we had extra. With such amazing views and such wonderful accomodations it felt more like a resort than a camp ground. We had so, so much fun! Kudos to the folks who got it so right!Rooms: Very clean and well appointed.Safety: We felt nice and safe the whole time. Staff does regular patrol.Walkability: Excellent place to walk or hike. Store is close so all needs are within walking distance.Food & drinks: Excellent grocery stores and restaurants on site!

Was five stars for a long time but 2023 was disappointing. The campers were still great families but the STAFF IS HORRIBLE now. The maintenance guy in the golf cart is rude and crude. I SAW HIM BLOWING DIRT AT LITTLE GIRLS with his leaf blower. The gate guy was grumpy and hit our new car closed fist to get us to stop which we where already doing. The cabin was filthy nasty one wipe on the floor by the toilet turned dark yellow when we checked it. The fresh towels had tons of hair and the coffee maker had moldy old ground coffee in it. SAD I felt so ripped off we used to love this place.Nearby activities: American River

Goldrush Cabins are awesome with a comfortable king size bed, & bunkbeds that have clean sheets, blankets, comforter & pillows with a mini fridge/freezer. It has good AC & heating inside the unit that was nice on those 89 degrees days. Nice clean bathrooms & showers near by, super impressed with the ADA accessibility all over too. The grounds are kept clean, green & comfortable with lots to do & see. I brought my 20 month old daughter who enjoyed walking around to the various playgrounds and campsites. Good Verizon cell coverage, & wifi on site. General store with ice available & other various small stores nearby. Lots of nearby easy hiking trails too. Definitely a beautiful private campground on the river! Nice friendly staff

I rented sfc J and was very happy with the accommodations. The host was very informative and helped me with the location. I have already reserved it for next year.Walkability: My family all have rv's and I rented a cabin. They were very close to me so perfect.

We showed up on a Thursday afternoon with no reservations enroute further south. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and we had choices of sites. We only stayed one night but we enjoyed the pool, the pup enjoyed the river, I enjoyed a nice hike around the historical state park, and we enjoyed a evening and morning stroll around the resort visiting. The camp is very well maintained and operated. It is a fairly large resort and weekends are totally booked. The river shore is very boulder inhabited so no beach, plenty of river access though. Water was still cold so no one swimming. Temperature was pretty warm in first part of June. Summer temps are cooking hot. Nice park and staff, I would stay here again for a couple days mid-week.

This is the worst campground management I have ever dealt with. They don't allow Saturday check-ins and are not accommodating. We had some friends that were a little loud and right at 10:01 they were at our site and very rude. We brought our own washer drum fire pit and we got yelled at that the fire was above our knees which was too high. We tried to explain to him that this was not the fire ring they provided and the top of our fire pit was taller that our knees. He said he didn't care and wouldn't even take a look at it. On the 3rd night they sent me and 3 other people threatening text messages while I was sleeping at almost midnight saying we were too loud and they would either make us leave or call the sheriff. They accused us of working the system when we had a friend bring his trailer in to some other friends site due it being too cold for them in there tent. He was booked to come in Sunday but was nice enough to bring the trailer in the night before so our buddies didn't freeze. This was cleared by the guy at the front desk before we told him to come. They also accused him of bringing in all his guests Saturday when in fact he drove back home Sunday morning to get them. They then called and harassed them a few days after they left about names for the guest list and saying they were going to investigate this. Also be ware that the site only includes 2 people. It is $10 extra per person after that. This is a very beautiful campground with awesome amenities. Unfortunately we will never go back and current management will probably run it into the ground. I you want a nice campground with a good host, do not go here.

3 families went and we all loved it. We all loved playing in the river. Water is bit cold for toddlers. I recommend for toddlers to use swimming pool for water play. Electricity on each camp site was awesome. Loved hot shower without coins. :) They have hours for hot water. Make sure you find out hot shower hours so you don't need to take shower with freezing cold water. We loved site 40. It was private and big enough for 3 families to stay. I think 4 families can fit if you tighten up the spaces. Highly recommend this site. We are planning to visit again.

What a beautiful campsite! We booked the riverfront site and it was such an amazing stay! Site is very well maintained and lots of amenities (bathroom, ice cream airstream, pool, playground, etc) .More importantly, very family friendly, kids running around and dogs having fun, it s otherworldly !!You can book it same time next year and many people do, that s the charm of this place.

Great place to visit with a toddler. The river is very close by and the cabin itself is well equipped. The bed is super comfortable and the air conditioning makes a huge difference. There are some spider webs and cleaning can definitely be improved. The cabin price is a bit too much for what you get, but overall very pleased with our stay here.

Beautiful place on the American River. Close to fun activities in the historical mining town of Lotus. The owners are amazing and accommodate needs like a small business, not like a commercially owned property. They are friendly and welcoming & will definitely be back. Especially for those views!

So I gave this place 2 stars based on my experience and preference for campgrounds but someone else may give it five stars so let me explain. I have a travel trailer and prefer large spots with grass, full hookups and a little room between myself and my neighbor. That's not what you get here. We were right on the river but is was on dirt and the trailer next to us was about 3 feet from our picnic table. If you are going there to take a rafting trip, want to float from one end of the park to the other, have a group of friends that tent camp then this is the place. Tent sites have big canopies set up to protect from the sun and rain and this place is set right on the rivers edge. I won't be going back there but others may just have the time of their life. The pic is of the moon shining on the river at night.

This is our second time at this resort park. Both times we had a great experience with easy access to the river. My shared photo is from the end of our RV parking spot.River rafting tours start just a quarter mile upstream on the other side. This is a great long weekend adventure.

This RV resort is a great spot to visit throughout the year. They have great spots that accommodate large RVs. Their bathrooms are both clean and in quite a few spots through the resort. Love that there is so much to do not just at the resort but in the surrounding areas.

The bunk house was clean and well appointed with 7 bunk beds. There was plenty of space for all of our belongings. It was a short walk to the pool, the playgrounds, the office or the river within the resort grounds. Just outside of the resort there are plenty of amazing historic sites and activities to do within walking distance as well. I have only one minor complaint. The shared bathrooms on the grounds could use a bit of cleaning in the showers and a bit of spider spray. Dont get me wrong, I am very grateful that there were showers to us at all and to be fair, I did go to take a shower at 2am. I didn't break anything as I screamed while pin wheeling and slapping the cute little harmless spiders off my leg but I'm sure it gave everyone within shouting distance a fright. On Thursdays there is a silver twinkie truck with ice cream and snow cones but remember to bring your card because they don't take cash. The other campers were very sweet and friendly. My girls made so many friends to play with on our stay. Overall it was a beautiful, amazing, fun, and relaxing place to be for our family vacation.

Highly recommend! This has been our family camping site for the past 15+ years. Great for glamping, camping, RV, and cabins with AC. They have river front sites and group sites (12 people) which my family and friends book.Wifi, bathrooms, electricity, and showers.10pm noise curfew but we definitely stay up later than that, we just keep the volume down. Dogs allowed but they charge.Next to Trouble Maker rapid on the American River and plenty of access points for tubing or rafting. You can also fish.

The cabins are conveniently located to the river. Ours over looked the river directly it is beautiful! We go every year. Certain times of the season are very busy and prior reservations are necessary so plan to book up to a year in advance. Family friendly, fun camp grounds.

We've been coming here consecutively 4 years straight and love every minute of it.Water is so refreshing. It seems they open up the flow in the morning which raises the water level to do some wading and tubing but lowers in the late afternoon/early evening. There's so many options for camping styles aside from hiking for miles to a secluded spot. Camp is right on the river if you get the right spot.

Have been going here regularly for 13 yrs. Asked to stay and extra hour on a rainy Sunday when there was hardly anyone around and no one coming into the site after me and was told no. Lame. Reason given was they needed to set up for outdoor school. Absolutely no set up activity occurring when I left 20 minutes after checkout time. Will take my business elsewhere.

Loud mariachi music at all hours. Ruins the whole experience. Staff does absolutely nothing about it.Used to have great family experiences over the weekends, but using covid as an umbrella they no longer have any family friendly events. The beauty of the river is the only redeeming thing of this place Wont be back

Very nice amenities! Stayed during some hot days and enjoy the pool very much! The local park ducks are a nice touch. They sure aren't afraid of anyone! Our site was a little rough (#257). Blacktop pad was rough. Grass on both sides was dead. Lots of sticker balls. Will be selecting a nicer site now for next time.
