My family referred me to Colfax Smog and Auto after another shop was giving me the runaround for a basic oil change. First visit was great! Todd is smart as a whip, super honest and affordable! My son needed work on his cars and we took them there too! Recently my son's Suburban threw a code and was acting up. Todd and Glen saved the day again!! I highly recommend them!!!

Couldn t be more greatful for Todd and his crew . Thank you for making my birthday turn for the better after a horrible car breakdown. Yall are amazing , please keep this place in mind when you re on the side of the road stranded . Affordable, kind overall a great experience.

I had the best experience getting my car smogged here. They were able to get me in with a drop in. Highly recommend setting an appointment as these guys are busy. They even checked my tire pressure and helped me install some clips for my hood protector. Will definitely be coming back for oil changes and more.

Todd and his crew were a huge help when my Hyundai s engine seized in the way up the mountain. Even though my car was toast, they helped me out immensely and gave me a lot of good advice on what to do with the car. Can t recommend them enough.

My car broke down on the way to Tahoe, just past Colfax, so while waiting for the tow truck, I looked up repair shops in the area. Called Colfax Smog and Auto Repair, described my issue, and Todd said to bring it right in. His team looked at it, did some thinking outside the box with some creative testing, and diagnosed the problem in less than an hour. Todd and his crew were very nice, honest, and super patient with me as I tried to wrap my head around the complexity of the issue. VERY FAIR prices and I felt taken care of I fully recommend Colfax Smog and Auto Repair!!

My son just bought his first car. That first car had it's first breakdown! We took it to Todd at Colfax Smog, and he was very honest and more than fair priced! I will recommend them to everyone I can! They are THE BEST

I've taken my cars, on and off, to Colfax Smog for several years. They do very good work for a lot less than I've paid at Winner Chevrolet in Colfax. Todd - the face of Colfax Smog - is someone who tells you like it is and doesn't suffer fools gladly, saving you (and him) time.

My steering pump went out 6 hours from home. Todd got me right in and Pete fixed it! From stranded to back on the road within 2 hours!!This place is honest and they do great work! I can t thank y all enough!

Horrible representative, clearing the snow, made fun of my voice and disability status. The highway has as all pulled over, And this person thought that I was blocking a no parking sign. It was snowing and he was very rude and the threw snow all over my truck. I obliged to move my truck I just couldn't believe that he made fun of me off of a physical trait it's very rude for customer service.I would not recommend going here for service unless you want to be made fun of and belittled

I must say this shop was an absolute treat to come across, Todd and his staff were professional, pleasant, and funny. I highly recommend this shop for your needs . The wait time was short , price was more than fair , and my car is happy. Thanks y'all !From one happy Texan

Todd was a huge help! We were leaking a lot of radiator fluid right at the time of closing. He wasn't able to help us, but he went out of his way and got us in touch with a mobile repair service that got us up and running again. And Todd followed up with us afterwards to make sure everything went okay even though we were just passing through the state on our way back to Utah. He saved us about $5,000 in produce loss by getting us the help we needed for our refrigerated van.

Todd and his crew are great. They are honest and will tell you the truth. They helped me with a tune up on my Subaru as well and now a broken heater core.I always find it hard to feel good about an auto repair place but now I drive two hours just to get my car fixed.They also have chains available!

I have worked with Todd a few times. Each time he was very straightforward on what my issue was and the approximate price to fix it. The one time he was unsure of what my issue was he suggested that I go to a specialist for my make of car. He was certain he could fix it but was concerned that it may take him longer to diagnose it then a specialist would. He thought it would be cheaper if I went to the specialist. I would recommend him or any of your automotive needs.

Our car was suddenly dead on I 80 and was towed to this shop. We were on our way to lake Tahoe and it was only one hour till the shop closes. We were so worried about how to accommodate the passengers as dark arrived. Thankfully, the folks working there did a quick diagnosis, had the parts shipped in, and fixed the car in a very timely manner and at a very reasonable price. We were able to reach our destination in the same day!

Smog test technician error with readings all over the place that didn't make sense. Took it to another smog shop and it passed fine. Todd would not give me a refund for their mistake or take any sort of accountability. Will not be bringing my other cars back for services.

Just a couple of nice guys working out of an old gas station. Todd and Ron run a nice little business the Colfax way. They are laid back and friendly while efficiently taking care of the job. They told me my smog check would take about 20 minutes but it was ready in 15.Ron is an ASE Master Technician - that's a big deal.I love it when I can do business locally. Glad Todd and Ron are nearby.

Super rude and lazy. Would not recommend. When you look at reviews, they rank high, but they are old. So I figured I would give a newer one to look at.

I forgot to get my truck smogged until about 4:30. I raced over and, despite them being about to close and me not having an appointment, they smogged my truck in about 15 minutes. Quite easy going and friendly. I would go there again in a heartbeat. Note to myself and others, get an appointment! Thanks guys

They were highly recommendedso needless to say my expectations werefor a good experience. I stated that theirwas a noise coming from the undercarriage and thatI needed it to be diagnosed and a price to have it repaired.2 or 3 hours later which is ok he said my differential and some other partwere bone dry, never going to jiffy lube again. So I asked him to fill both of themand give me a price for fixing the noise in my differential . He said fine and it would be $1000. So I left and on the way home the noise was actually worse.In the morning I checked it which is not easy and I am sure he did not expect thatbecause, you guessed it bone dry. I had to ride my bike get some oil and install it myself.The noise got better but still need a new differential.Not to be trusted.

My mustang's alternator died on a Saturdayevening. No auto repair shops were open until Monday morning.I called these folks on Monday morning and AAA'd it to them. They got right to it. Good people who will treat you right.

My son and two granddaughters in there Morano overheated heading to Reno, they dropped everything and diagnosed the problem. The next day the car was fixed, much appreciate. Thanks again

Impressive work, cost effective and most importantly INCREDIBLY HONEST- it s refreshing to go to an automotive repair shop and have complete honesty about your vehicle no matter if it s GOOD or BAD - Both Todd and Glen do great work whether it s a basic smog or a more extensive repair.
