I did not have a good experience, at all. I was talked over, a lot, and when asking questions for clarity, I was given convoluted answers which were extremely in-depth unwanted explanations, leaving me with further confusion about the state of my car. Furthermore, it's been found now that my car works perfectly fine and that the $500+ quote I was given at this location is not a service that my vehicle is in need of, in fact. Listening to customers while they speak is so important to me, responding clearly and concisely is so very helpful to have as a customer. I received neither.

Mike was awesome. He runs a well run shop and didn't run the price up on us. Everyone was over 5k for the same job he did for 4500.

If you value your vehicle and your wallet, I would steer clear of this place. Service is a joke!! Paid over two grand for new clutch and transmission maintenance servicing. Clutch didn t last 90 days!!!! Went to a (reputable shop) for diagnostic inspection and was horrified when the mechanic stated that he has never seen such a hatchet job before. Rear back up lights had not been re- connected, faulty throw out bearing on clutch, additional $1500.00 to repair the damage that Capitol caused. My only regret is that I didn t check customer reviews before I chose to do business with this establishment.Service: Transmission

Thank again, Mike! We brought our Suburban to you thinking we had no chance in fixing.... Well, boy were we wrong!! You fixed it for under 200 bucks!! Thank you so much!! I can just say I am very unhappy with Capital transmission service I feel totally ripped off I will never recommend this company to anyone From having repairs done I m still not happy with the results transmission lines were not ran properly to keep the transmission cool and from overheatingService: TransmissionService: Transmission

Took my mother's Dodge Magnum here. It s off of San Juan and kind of tucked away in the back. Elvis pics on the wall was a cool touch and Mike is a straight up, no bs kinda guy. They had the car on a lift almost immediately and knew what the issue was in about 10 minutes --a failed connector plate of some sort that was causing my leak. However, they needed to order the part which took a few days to be delivered. I couldn t leave the car there while the part came in and had to make a 2nd trip. But when I did, they it installed the part right then while I waited quickly and was back on the road. I like this place.Service: Transmission

I while back,(4 months) my son mentioned he felt his RAV4 s transmission was acting up. He called around and took it to a shop to get a diagnosis. The guy could not find anything right away and later called him saying he needed a new computer, and a new transmission at about 6200. He called another shop and they did not have appointments available but sounded knowledgeable and gave him a quote to replace the transmission if necessary at about 3500.Finally my son called me and I recommended him Mike at Capital transmission. He did repaired a transmission for our company truck and was priced reasonably and works great. He took the RAV4 to him and he couldn t find anything wrong with it. I told him to check it again and he did. Same answer nothing wrong with it. I ask him how much was for the diagnosis and he did not charge anything. Saying he did not find anything wrong.THATS HONESTY. It s a rare find this days.I had him do an oils and filter changeI ll recommend my friends and family to him.In conclusion. Honest and good work it s not a common thing to find in a mechanic s shop this days. He will have my businessThanks Mike.

I asked for a worse case scenario (full rebuild/replacement) quote. Mike tried a lower cost fix first and if it didn't work, was going to try the next step up and apply the labor cost of the first step to any additional work I might need. Took it home, worked okay for several days, but then the transmission really started acting up. Ended up having to go with the rebuild and I actually ended up paying less than the quote.Great customer service, very friendly, will definitely use them again if needed on another car, and I will surely be recommending Capital Transmission to all my friends and family.

Ok guys I m giving 5 stars because it s the max if I could give more I would. I went in with transmission issues Big Burt (my car) was on his last leg. Mike and his team did an exceptional job. I am highly satisfied I have and 02 Tahoe and they brought Big Burt back to life. I highly recommend Coming to them for your auto needs they are very knowledgeable and funny gentle men. We will recommend Capital Transmission to EVERYONE!!! We have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler and started to have issues with what we thought was the transmission. After being quoted 8,000 dollars from the dealership we decided to get a second opinion!! Thank goodness we did. We met with Mike who provided us with amazing customer service from the first call not only indicated that they had diagnosed the wrong issue (they recommended that we replace the entire transmission and clutch) but identified the root of the issue and a portion that they missed and our car is like new costing us 90% less than the dealership. We will trust all our cars to Mike and his team at Capital Transmission and will refer all our friends and family as well.Service: Transmission

I was recommended from a friend to call Capital Transmission and talk to Mike. I have a 2000 4Runner that had lost reverse, neutral and first gear in an automatic transmission. I spoked to Mike about my issues and he kind of knew what was wrong with it. I had asked him if I could pull the transmission out of truck myself. Mike said sure we do bench builds all the time. And you will still receive the 3 year warranty. That saved me $800+. The car shifts better now than it did when it was new. Mike and his staff are very knowledgeable, courteous and on time. I would not go anywhere else for transmission work. I would highly recommend to friends and family. Good Job my new friends.Thank You.

So far so great! Took my car in because my transmission was acting up and they took my car In right away. It cost $4000 but you got a 3 year warranty so as long as everything is covered this will stay 5 stars!

This shop is awesome! Service was great- my transmission was murdered by my radiator (didn't know until i installed the 2nd new radiator).The fella who helped me was great! He rebuilt my transmission, and installed a seperate cooling system for it- so i dont have to stress about that happening again ;). Fair priced, fast service,professional, kept me updated through the whole process.I am so grateful for all the help-car is running great now!I highly recommend this shop!

Honest, Fair, Very Reasonable prices. I usually do my own work on all my cars, so I know the cost of parts and labor time. Their prices are in most cases better than buying retail. Their labor times are quicker than doing the labor myself, so the cost of labor is very honest and sometimes surprisingly quick in a good way. Love this place. They'll have my business for a long time. I can't recommend Capital Transmission enough.

Mike did a great job for us. Our car had what later has been recognized as a common computer failure which caused a transmission failure. But ours was one of the first to fail and Mike had to use some creative diagnostics to figure it out. As a result we needed to use the warranty and Mike honored it without question. Thanks to Mike our experience went as smooth as a transmission failure and repair can go.

I took my car here for a clutch replacement. Mike and his staff did a great job and also adjusted the clutch cable at no charge when I took it back many months later. My brother has also had work done here. Good service and no hassle. Definitely recommend them!

Mike goes above and beyond. He saved me so much over the others. Advising me that he won't charge extra labor when he has to remove the parts anyway. He will just charge for the new parts

Called Mike for a second opinion and am I glad I did. The other company wanted $4700 to replace the transmission and motor mounts. Mike test drove the car and said all we needed was a motor mount replacement. We saved $3800 and our charge ended up being $50 less than Mike's original quote. I like the way they do business as they called me a couple of hours after car drop off and had the car ready six hours later.

I was referred here by my boss who also had taken his vehicle here. I had originally taken my vehicle to the dealership who wanted thousands of dollars to replace my transmission. I decided to have Capital Transmission take a look at it. They were able to take a look at it and offer me a rebuild at a much more reasonable price.I did have to take it back for a recheck which did some additional work at no cost to me. They did also help me locate some other issues with my vehicle that were not transmitted related and they did also kept my vehicle overnight to help me determine an oil leak. I would strongly recommend them! Mike was honest and fair in all my dealings.

Sorry for the long review but it's worth a read before you take your car here. I got my transmission rebuilt in my honda. The transmission never felt right when I got it back and started shifting weird within a month of driving it, I took it back and they said it was fine. I knew that wasn't true but I said ok. A year later I go get my one year check up, and they say it's still fine (it's still acting weird at this point), and I owe them another $300 that I never paid off for the repair. I'm so angry that I go in the next day and show him my reciepts saying I paid in full, and he's just like "oh sorry, I guess you don't owe me money, I'll update that for you." He basically tried to get another couple hundred from me after I already paid over 2 thousand for the rebuild. About 6 months later, I go to trade in my car for a new one and both carmax and sabaru of roseville say they want to give me less for the car because the transmission is slipping. I take it in again and show him what both dealerships said, and they drive it and say it's fine. I can't believe the customer service and the warranty is a joke. I really would recommend going elsewhere.

I have a transmission that has 295k on it that has been flushed and filtered by this place every so often. And another with 232k,both still working today! The price for service is great (less) compared to jiffy lube where they just "flush" the trans with no filter or anything. Ive had this place fix my junk for about 10 years now and never ever had an issue. They never ever tried to push anything i didn't need on me, i never felt pressued or anything else. The shop is cool with a shop Mastiff and Elvis stuff, its a great family shop.So 2 transmissions serviced by these guys and still running great! People,you can't drive your vehicles around without changing the fluid and filter! So get it done so you dont have issues later!- THE PLUMBER -

So I had my truck towed to Capital Transmission because of the high ratings here on Google, then to find out that their service is not good. The owner Mike would not give me a straight price and would keep throwing random options on what to do... I just wanted it fixed. Also, from when they pulled the truck off the tow truck, it somehow lost drive gear... it was running and driving when it left my house. They wanted way too much to fix it, so I had it towed somewhere else, later to find out they chopped my cross member off and i now looks like a hack-job. Also, it was dumping oil all over the tow truck. Would NOT recommend Capital Transmission. Save yourself the cash. And when ever someone writes a bad review, who ever is writing back, needs to write back professionally.

The customer service was just embarrassing. Mike at the front counter was completely unhelpful. i had to call everyday (4 days total) to get an update on my truck, and each time mike just kept on saying he didn't know how long the part was going to take. The next problem was the quote he gave me was for $1200 to replace a clutch. i went back to the shop demanded my keys back and i pushed my truck across the street to The CAR CZAR. They had the part ordered and installed over the weekend AND called me to tell me what was going on and how long for everything to finish. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else for your repairs. As far as the smell thing a google user posted, i noticed an odd odor but i was too upset to really care.*update 5-17-12* "Google user" Good job contradicting every point i made in my experience, i'm sure you are a decent employee of capital tranny. you provided no subsidiary information on your experience, vehicle, or any other serviceable information, i hope you thanked mike for helping you write "your" comment.**6-1-12** Now this place is offering money to people who dont like the service or have complaints about them... hmm kinda like a bribe? Their service should speak for itself, not by buying someone's sorrows back. ***7-6-12*** OK OWNER. no i do not have a work order or a Ro# whatever that means, i don't have one because you NEVER wrote anything down for my truck. you couldn't get a part number, a price quote, or even a time frame for the repairs that you kept "checking" on, which is why YOU probably never called me back even though i gave you ALL of my contact info. accept your faults and move on.

Mike was very helpful, test drove car immediately. Said problem was probably one of 2 issues, probably not major. They had car on rack and fixed problem,(vacuum hose loose), in less than 1-1/2 hr.Very professional service.

Mike stands behind his work! I brought in a busted throw-out bearing on a clutch Mike installed a little more than a year ago (the warranty was one year) and he fixed it gratis. I don't think you can say much better about an auto repair shop or the guy who runs it.
