After trying to charge me $5000 for a warranty repair, which they finally admitted that was wrong to do, they attempted to repair my vehicle twice. Within days of the first repair oil was spewing out of the engine onto my driveway. Within a week of the second repair...same result. Oil spewing out all over. Now they are telling me that I should go to a different repair shop or contact Mazda customer care. This place has no ethics or morals and will attempt to rob you blind. They refuse to even begin to admit that they may have incompetent people working there, and won't own up to mistakes (many) that they make. Do not trust this place, they are the epitome of the shady used car sales place of the 80's. BUYER BEWARE.

Took my Mazda in to have a check engine light looked at. I scheduled an appointment, dropped off the car at the appointment time and then heard nothing for over a week. I understand things get busy however any sort of update would have been better than none and they should not have offered an appointment if they didn t have the time. Jesse in service attempted to understand the frustrations we had of the lack of communication but we d only get a call back if we called the office multiple times over and over and left multiple messages with other staff members. After 3 weeks of very little calls between ourselves, Jesse and my warranty company, we had gotten no where. I received an email out of the blue from with his manager CCed to inform me there was nothing further he could do to help us. My husband really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but we picked up the car and will never bring it back here. We will try Mazda Roseville for the check engine light.

This dealer wanted to charge 20% more for an Apple Car play upgrade than the dealership in Sacramento and would not budge on their price. They state the part price is $279 and labor $220 an hour. OEM part is readily available on many Mazda sites for $213. Dealerships in the same general market area should not be 20% different in their pricing.

every single person working here is incompetent and has no customer service skills.i left my car at the service department of this dealership on 10/6 at 7am and dropped the key in the key box. i bought my 2019 mazda from this dealership three years ago and have been doing early drop off and late pickup for service and the auto butler clear coat reapplication solely at this dealership for the entirety of the vehicle's life with me, and not once did i have a problem with the service department until 10/6. not only did my vehicle not get serviced until 4:33pm after i called them suspecting the car hadnt been worked on, but marina, caleb, and barry are the rudest, most incompetent people i have ever spoken to.because i have been going to this dealership for three years for service and always used the drop box for the key, i had the expectation when i dropped it off at 7am that theyd get it done well before 5pm. i did not use the envelopes to put the key fob in the drop box because for the last three years i did not use them. i dropped the car off and went to work. i noticed i didnt get the text saying my car was being worked on and my car on the mazda app hadnt been unlocked, so i had my mother call the dealership to check on it. she was told the service manager caleb is not available, but that i was at fault for not dropping the car off properly by using the envelopes and i had to reschedule. this phone call occurrd roughly at 3pm. my mother insisted i had an 8:30am appt so why didnt i get a phone call? marina then says THEY LOST MY KEY FOB AND DIDNT FIND IT UNTIL 10:30 AND DECIDED NOT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT RE: CONTACTING ME OR SERVICING THE CAR.caleb then suddenly appears, says he heard the entire phone conversation, reiterates i didnt do things right and i needed to reschedule. so i call the dealership, marina tells me the same song and dance, admits she saw the text of me confirming the appt the previous day, and doesnt comment on why i didnt get a phone call. i am then routed to barry, who gives me the excuse that its a black key fob in a black box and it was dark at 7:30 (are key fobs not black?) and thats why they didnt find it until 10:30. i told him that is not an excuse and he said, "are you going to continue to chastise me or is there something i can do for you?"i was so angry. i said fix the car. its now almost 4pm. he puts me on hold to route me to caleb, picks up after 5 minutes saying he somehow dialed caleb wrong, and theyd just take this as verbal confirmation i want the car serviced. so if it was that easy, why didnt i get phonecall? i will never get an answer to this question. i then called caleb and said i didnt feel comfortable paying for this service for how i was treated. he said he couldnt do that, i needed to speak to barry. i said id figure it out when i get to the dealership. barry then called me and left a rude voicemail saying i wouldnt be getting the car if i didnt pay. basically threatening me. i did not call him back because i felt he is a lost cause to speak to.when i get to the dealership caleb is fake and happy and gives me the total. my dad asks him why was i treated this way? they get to treat me like this all day and demand payment with no apology? caleb says "yep, thats how it works". i then asked if i could get the vehicle serviced elsewhere since i would not be back here. he explained i could. i said i never got an email to check the car in for service. he said they dont do that and that because i brought the car to them for service its my responsibility to be checking it in correctly (using the envelope). i said i have been doing it this way for three years and never had an issue and i wouldnt be back. he said thats my choice and the interaction ended.DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE AND DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE HERE. they are rude and unprofessional. i will never be back especially for how barry and caleb spoke to me and my parents. TERRIBLE NO STAR SERVICE.

Price you see online isn t the price you pay on used they have add on such as glass coverage $1800 that they required to be added to price but not listed on website. When we negotiated we told them we wanted two keys for the car got to the end of the signed contract all the sudden they couldn t find the other key and wouldn t provide one. Push the extended warranty saying it was for 100,000 miles but during financing found out it was only for 65,000 and isn t like an extension of the factory one at all. Purchased the car in a Saturday evening by Monday didn t remember the transaction at all or your name. $16,000 car ended up costing $22,000.

Extremely rude service manager . The man who answered the phone had no answers for me, lacked a lot of knowledge about my model of Mazda,as well as warranty work. He blamed it on his coworker/man who deals with warranty work not being there. However, when I mentioned purchasing my 2021 Mazda at Roseville Mazda, he continued being condescending and rude, then began laughing! At that point in the conversation I told him I would never give them my service and have no problem driving to Roseville for my maintenance, since I know where I purchased my new car, they were extremely professional, informed on the product they sell and treated me with respect!

I did some work for the dealership when they opened a few years back, recently I found myself in a pinch, needing a good, reliable fun car, I made the call, having a good idea what I was after I worked with the sales team to not only find the perfect vehicle, but work within my limited budget. The sales team went above and beyond delivering my car a few counties over and completing the sale paperwork on delivery. Their attention to detail is what really impressed me about the experience, thank you Chico Mazda I look forward to working with you again

Honestly the easiest car buying/leasing experience I have ever had. This is my first time with Mazda and I was impressed. Several family/friends have had Mazdas so Chico Mazda came highly recommended. After trying and not succeeding with other dealers in and out of town, Chico Mazda was a breath of fresh air. I worked with Elizabeth, Brandon and Nathan - 10/10 recommend

I went to purchase a vehicle, the experience on day 1 was a usual negotiation, but in the end it was a negotiation. As always dealerships try to get theirs and customer wants the best deal. No hard feelings. The 2nd day we did more research for a better negotiation. The issue is the explanation of what they were trying to makeup to try to confuse two women, because they are women, was absurd. They made up a package , that claimed the the interest rate could not be lowered and that a person with a 800 credit score would get the same interest rate as the one they were offering (which is complete utter bull), because it s the best interest rate they could possibly offer to anyone no matter the credit score. I had a sister purchase a Mazda the year prior and she received half the interest rate they offered and got a co signer. The other thing was they made up a rule that they don t allow co signers, when they would not budge on the interest rate, we said we wanted to include a co signer. They claimed that by their own rule Mazda does not do that and that regardless it wouldn t do anything and refused to allow a co signer. In the end we wanted a copy of their final offer on paper, and they refused that too saying it was not allowed, and in the past I have always received a copy of offers because that s how you compare with other dealerships, and they knew thats what we were going to do. In the end it was an absolute corrupt experience, the manager and his son need a much better approach then lying about how much their vehicles cost to purchase, giving us the same speech that they have a business to run, and lying that apparently they own the exact same Mazda as the one we were trying to purchase. Elizabeth you were wonderful and very professional and deserve a raise, the only one that maintained her professionalism and was working with us. Had the manager and son not been involved a deal would have been done.

Really debated writing a review, and I wasn t going to but mazda reminded me to do their survey. (((:Have people answer your phone with the correct information. Especially when they ask if they need to bring a second vehicle because they live over an hour and a half away. Also, maybe provide rentals or loaners on the weekends too because people still get their cars fixed on those days too.Not have your service department at the Chico Mazda belittle client issues (regardless of what it is, and how minor they see it as.) by telling you multiple times how another client with the same check engine light issue is still driving their car just fine. (it was my first 2021 brand new bought vehicle with less than 13k miles, my first experience with a check engine light issue where something had to be replaced and I was still under warranty because of a faulty part from manufacturers- I did NOT want to continue driving my vehicle back and forth 1.5 hrs each way in case it made things worse in the off chance)And lastly, when clients voice their frustrations about how they were given wrong information over the phone when they called to confirm not to bring a second vehicle the day before and let the girl know how far we were coming maybe don t let Steve in services at Chico Mazda tell your clients how unfortunate it is that your client now lives in a town (1.5 hours away) without their own Mazda dealer and owns a Mazda when voicing their frustration about the loaner/ rental situation and how we had to have someone drive from that same area to come get us because we had things to do that day and were stranded 1.5 hours away now. We were told they d have an answer about the car in 2-3 hours when we dropped off at 9:20 but weren t given a call about the issues until 4 that day.Worst service I ve ever received with Mazda. Wont go back to the Chico joke of a place. Much rather drive the 3 hours to the San Jose Oak Tree Mazda ( great people, great service! Chris there is the best salesman! I bought it from (yes Steve, I did at one time live in San Ramon that does have a Mazda dealership nearby)Save yourself the headache and don t give these people your business. Worked with them in the past when I attended college here. It was decent service then, terrible now.

I called ahead to make arrangements and request understanding of my need to control my own environment in my therapy car. I have a 2018 Mazda Miata I bought it with only 4 miles on it. I needed to have an environment that I could control. I read the good reviews and contacted Chuck to explain my position and he said he understood and would work with my request, but upon visiting the service center, which is about 75 miles away from my home, I could not keep them out of the car. They could not even let me get the miles, and of course they sat on the bump of the bucket seat, they all do sit part in and part out. Chuck and I talked on the phone after I left a review similar to this with Mazda and during that conversation he offered me only excuses. Offering only excuses after promising understanding tells me that you should not trust these people.

Update to owner response: The son of the GM who responded is the employee in question. Even if he did "stop by" his language and dishonesty was preventable. To act like the issue was unknown is frustrating because I dealt with Brandon directly (until he handed me off to Dustin who furthered the lies and deceit). This whole response only furthers my opinion of this dealership.I bought a car here several months ago. The person who handled the paperwork was dressed in sloppy shorts and shirt and had a lot of foul language. He also charged me for a service that I was told was included. I was also told the car has features that it does not. There was not a lot of professionalism here. After realizing I was charged the extra fee I made several attempts to contact them and cancel that service as I did not want it anyway and if I were given the proper information would have denied the service. Finally after going back and forth with them they offered to cancel the service and partially refund the fee which I agreed to. I still have not received that refund 4 months later. During the conversation I was told that if I don t have my oil changes and service done there that Mazda could void my warranty which is not true. Yes, your warranty can be voided if not properly maintained but it does not have to be there. Definitely not a dealership I would give my business to again.

I booked an oil change and tire rotation for my daughters Mazda CX to-3 After a full day at the dealership when I picked the car up I noticed the tire rotation was not completed and when I brought the car home there was oil dripping on my floor. I understand things might get missed but the lack of accountability and options to provide solutions from Chico Mazda were completely dissatisfying. I rescheduled the appointment online, as instructed by Mark, the dealer manager, after a phone call regarding my poor experience, to have the work rectified. When I went to the dealership I was met by a different service manager, who had nothing but bad comments to say that I had inappropriately booked the appointment online for the work requiredAnd his schedule was out of sync. ( what about my time and my three visits to Chico Mazda for a simple oil change that should ve been done in one visit? )The dealerships service manager did nothing to help the situation or to satisfy me as a customer. Having owned three vehicles from chico VW / Mazda dealership this will certainly be my last and I will take my business elsewhere I am very dissatisfied with the entire experience. Only two stars because the dealership is clean and well organized. as a consumer you have a choice and I would recommend you make a choice with a different Mazda / VW dealer.

I called for an appointment for a 65,000 mile service. Got in the place around 10:30am and did not leave around 3:30pm! I got my car from this dealership to top it off to get this really bad service. No apologies nothing. I was only told, they ran short of mechanics. That's not my problem, is it? If you have a dealership, you should address that issue especially when someone calls and waits a week or two for an appointment. Lady next to me was saying just how disorganized this dealership is. I drive 80 miles (round trip) just to get my car service performed here even though I'm only 40 miles away (round trip) to the dealership in Yuba City. But guess where I'm taking my car now? Not in this place obviously.

Repeat Chico Mazda customers here. We bought a Mazda back in 2015 and had such a smooth experience that when we started looking for another vehicle to lease, they were our first stop. Worked with Britton on the sales side, who was great with getting us info, test drives, and making it an overall positive process. Once we were comfortable moving forward, the whole team was a pleasure to work with to get things finalized. Overall super pleasant experience and I'd highly recommend checking them out for anyone in the market. The vehicles are great, but the customer service sets them apart.

I am very concerned when a technician says my car doesn't have cabin air filters and argues with me about it.It does have cabin air filters and today I sent them a video showing exactly what I described yesterday and instructions on where they go and how.I was under the impression that Mazda service dept techs would know this already. Not nice to have a young man argue about something I know to be true.Is this gaslighting or just basic incompetence. Also, if an employee has a bad cough, I think they should stay home. The sound of someone sucking candy in your ear on the phone is not preferred to coughing, as Barry stated.Hopefully Mazda Chico can improve on these issues and get some better reviews. My fingers are crossed that they will be able to find my cabin air filters and make sure they are clean.I hope they haven't missed anyone else's cabin air filters!?!

We have had both our Mazdas serviced there for several years and they've always been really cool (Steve has also been awesome). They've helped us with a warranty claim, gotten us in at the last second for a service, and have always worked with our schedules. I've never felt that they've tried to be unfair or upsell us on useless parts. They are one of those rare car service places where I trust their recommendations and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

I bring my Mazda3 here for routine maintenance. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a clean, comfortable waiting room and the shuttle service is very convenient. On my most recent visit, my service consultant Nick even threw in a complimentary detail service which came out great.

We are so pleased with our experience buying our new CX-5 with Chico Mazda! They worked with us to find the exact car we were after and really went above and beyond making us feel special. Everyone we worked with was beyond professional and kind. It was a relaxed car buying experience, free of the pressure I ve felt before and I have peace of mind knowing we were treated well.

I purchased a new 2016 Mazda 3 sedan from Kevin in mid February. He was very knowledgeable and was eager to help me make an informed decision. Overall I would have to say that my experience was great. Everyone was friendly and you could really tell that they care about their customers. I'm glad that I chose to purchase from this dealership especially since this was my first new purchase. Thanks again guys!

My daughter was traveling through northern California right before Thanksgiving and had car troubles. The car was towed to Chico Mazda and even though they had a full schedule, they diagnosed the problem promptly, called for authorization and offered her a loaner car so she could make it home for Thanksgiving. I can't say enough about a dealership that would do that for a new customer. Excellent service, communication and repair facility! I would highly recommend them to friends and family!

I would give Chico Mazda 6 stars if I could! The service team is incredible and always strive to have your back by doing the right thing. It's easy to be taken advantage of when taking your vehicle in for service, but this team is transparent and HONEST! Barry, one of the Sales Managers, is extremely knowledgeable and works hard to find you the right deal to meet your unique needs. Brandon, the General Manager, is friendly and is a total car guy who loves what he does and it shows. It's a pleasant experience when dealing with someone who is genuinely passionate about what they do and will work hard to see you leave the lot with a smile on your face! Mark and Amy are kind, local owners who love the community they serve! It's worth every cent to support this local dealership and save the gas because you don't need to go anywhere else whether you're getting service or buying your next vehicle! Overall, I will always recommend Chico Mazda!

My first visit was great. Laura showed me a car, let me know what rebates were available. The sales manager however, was very shifty on the price negiotiation and didn't want to give all of the rebates that were eligible, much less come down on the MSRP on a new 2019 model in the middle of February 2020.At one point he offered a lower price with nearly double the interest rate and began to pressure me to sign. "Sign it"! "It's a good deal!" His pressure felt wrong and I walked, when I got home and saw the interest rate shift, I knew I wouldn't buy a car from these people.I drove an hour and got a loaded 2020 for the Chico Mazda price of a base 2019.

I went 2xs with appointments. 1st time they were behind. So I rescheduled. My 2nd appointment took hours of waiting. All I was there for was an inspection. My invoice does not show tire tred or how much my breaks are worn. I called and am put on hold several times and no one came to the phone.. I email and no responded. I just purchased the cx9 and needed to know this information before my long road trip.I won't be back!

Had a very pleasant and enjoyable day purchasing my Mazda CX5. Sam was very knowledgeable and helpful pointing out pros and cons of other cars I was considering. I never felt pushed. Be prepared with questions because Sam knows cars. With probably every dealership there are the additional packages offered pretty strongly as you are at the end of a long day and down to the contract signing with another sales rep. So ask if it is ok to change your mind after you consider the fine print the next morning. Changing my mind about my payment plan was easy to fix, no hassle. Also, I absolutely love this car. If you are interested in a very nice ride with AWD, Mazda is more closely comparable with Subaru's performance than Honda or Toyota.

My husband and I bought a brand new car here last night and it was both of our first time doing such a big thing but Britton, our salesman,( but didn t feel at all like a salesman) was absolutely the best, and so genuine! We felt so comfortable right away and the staff made sure we got exactly what we wanted even after 4hrs of trying to figure out the perfect choice for us. We went to 2 other dealerships previously in Chico and this place was by far the most honest, kind, and overall they deserve a 5/5! Whittmeir and chico Hyundai wanted to talk numbers almost right away and just felt fake. It felt like we were talking with friends, not people who would do anything for a sale at Chico Mazda!

They do not care about your safety!! I brought in a vehicle for a diagnostic and a recall, they told me it would be a few days. A month later they let me know it s on national back order and would be another 2-3 months. I left a negative review and they rushed my vehicle out the following day which corporate already mentioned was illegal. I receive the vehicle and when I got home I reached into the back seat and the whole seat lurched. They did not properly reconnect my seat and let me drive away in a hazardous vehicle. Do not give your business to these people if you value your safety.

I have changed my review for two reasons. First, part of the negotiations was that I leave a five star review. Secondly, when I took my car in for free detailing, the detailer cracked my windshield and Mazda refused to fix it.

If I could give them 6 stars I would. They are great. We purchased a car from Keith Anderson last Saturday and the whole experience was a game changer for the car buying experience. They made it very easy and hassle free and got us the car we wanted at a great deal. The general manager Brandon helped us out with a few things and followed through with everything. When they say they are going to do something they really do which is a refreshing experience. I will refer everyone to Chico Mazda and to Keith!

Took my vehicle in for oil change, alignment, tire rotation, and basic inspection (60k miles). Was told my brakes needed to be replaced and rotors machined for north of $300.Had this checked by another shop, who told me the brakes still have another 7k miles on them. Also, the other shop noted that the tires did not actually need to be rotated (which was my mistake to ask for it, but I'd expect the dealership to note that and not perform and charge me for an unnecessary service) and that the engine air filter was filthy and very much needed to be changed. The dealership mentioned nothing regarding the engine air filter, which should ABSOLUTELY be inspected in a basic inspection service. So, in summary, my car was not inspected accurately and I was upsold on a not-yet-needed service. Also, numerous employees were not wearing masks or respecting social distancing guidelines in any way whatsoever.
