Haven't had my work done yet, but the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I will save hundreds of dollars at Valley Smog and Auto Repair on identical services at the dealership. I have gotten excellent referrals from many of my friends who have their vehicles serviced there. Definitely worth considering for auto and truck service.

Super Organized!I highly recommend Valley Smog & Auto Repair. They are a full service auto repair business and service all manner of vehicles. Some high points for me: They answer the phone. You can make an appointment quickly. You are greeted promptly when you walk in. You receive regular and complete communication. You are offered a ride if you need one. Their work is of the highest quality. They operate as a tight knit team. The facility is spotlessly clean. Their prices are set fairly with the local market in mind. Again, I highly recommend them

Excellent customer service and reasonable prices. Matt & Jackson always take the time to thoroughly explain the service & complete the work in a timely manner. So far so good and chewy screwed everything up charged me $900 couldn't handle the job said he put two clutches in there but he didn't have the flywheel resurfaced they put a grinder to it that's why the clutch didn't last so that's $900 I threw out the window and then Matt and at valley smog. I think Matt is a honest guy he got the Kia going when chewy couldn't

I recently replaced my old 2006 Town and Country with a 'modern' 2017 Pacifica. I have been completely satisfied with how Valley Smog maintained my older car.With electronic components and up-to-date technology on my new car, I feel competent with Valley Smog's ability to provide their usual outstanding service. New cars require extensive professional training to repair. Matt and the maintenance staff are well trained and use proper diagnostic tools to locate and repair defective modules, sensors, or electronic control devices to keep my car running like new.Service: Auto maintenance

Very good service. Whatever reason car is taken for is done and then they also check the car over. Nice people here also. Our 2 cars are always well serviced. Everything is explained.....every detail is gone over. Been a customer since 2008. I've been having my 2007 Toyota RAV4 serviced at Valley Smog & Auto Repair for over 8 years. Service is always excellent. Prices are reasonable... at least better than service prices at a dealership. And I'm grateful they're honest, letting me know when something isn't needed that they could otherwise bamboozle me with & charge for. This time in was the first I've been taken care of by Jackson at the counter. Like his boss, Matt, Jackson is very personable & accommodating.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Air conditioning, Oil change

This place is THE BEST! I recently moved to Las Vegas and I am going to miss having such a great, honest mechanic! I had to have work done on my car a couple weeks ago. I was given an estimate of $1600 but it ended up costing $1000. I was so excited! I've been going to this shop for the past 20 years and always had excellent work done here. I referred my Mom, son and friends here and they too love this place. Highly recommend!

True professionals providing excellent service! I called at 10am for a AAA inspection on a used car that a family member was interested in purchasing in Cat City. Some shops scoff at doing this for whatever reason, so I was kind of expecting the same attitude here but instead I was greeted with professionalism and enthusiasm. Matt worked things out and had us squeezed in by 11am. The inspection was extremely thorough and they explained everything we had questions about. The inspection lasted about an hour, which was great, and we enjoyed their comfy waiting room with refreshment station. If I lived closer to the area, this would be my go-to shop. Thanks Matt and crew!

I've had my cars serviced by Valley Smog & Auto Repair for as long as it has been in business. The business was sold to the current owners several years ago and under the old and current owners/management its business attitudes and service continues to provide excellent service at a fair price. It's mechanics and service/office personnel maintain its history of excellence.

This is by far one of the best experiences I have ever had at a mechanic's. Matt is incredibly knowledgeable and gets the work done quickly. I came here after I noticed my car was dripping a significant amount of oil. My original mechanic somewhere else told me it was a small hole in the oil pan and quoted me over $400. I thought that seemed a bit expensive and wanted to try somewhere else. Matt discovered there was no hole, it only needed to be resealed, and was able to fix the problem for half the price! After completing the work, he waived the initial $50 cost to look at it and only charged me for the parts and labor. He explained everything to me in detail and I am so incredibly happy I finally found an honest and trustworthy mechanic. I will definitely go out of my way to make sure I can get my car serviced here again.

A Place You Can Really TRUST!We have used them a few times now and they have NEVER tried to sell us something that we really didn't need in service or parts. You can truly try them with confidence and trust them if you are NOT car literate. A nice business here in the valley! They give you an appointment time and they are very good about getting the car out the same day if it is at all possible. If not, they will have a good reason to keep it overnight and will secure it completely. A very nice and honest business that we enjoy recommending!

Efficient and ethical. Matt is friendly and professional. I have had 3 of my cars smog checked or serviced here. Always quick wait time on oil change or smog. Highly recommended. One car is vintage Mercedes and they know their stuff.

When we moved to the area in 2014, we were alerted to Valley Smog & Auto Repair via a AAA Auto Club recommendation and have had three cars maintained by them since. Tracey and son Matt always appear honest and fair, in our experience. They are reputable, very fair and really seem to know their way around that butch thing under the hood.

State-of-the-art auto service center ,got my 1995 van smog here, passed with no problems. From what I observe while waiting was nothing short of honesty and professionalism. If you want to be greeted like it is Christmas everyday and have your vehicle service with no additional $surprises this is the place to go!

A word of advice!!! Don't mess with a car's AC system if it's running well!!!I received a coupon for an AC maintainance for around $90.00 from Valley Smog so decided while having a regularly scheduled oil change I thought I'd take advantage of this special and simultaneously have my AC system maintained. I first mentioned to Matt that I had owned my car for 10 yrs and never had the AC checked and seeing how it was a 15yr old vehicle it probably has never been serviced. I made it a point to say, "you know what they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it!". He told me that it's a good idea to have it checked out to be sure it's running at full capacity.� I opted to proceed. They evacuated the system,� did a vacuum test, said it was low of freon, and replaced 2 valve cores. He told me I'll be amazed with the cold air as a result of this service.� After that day, the temperature was never as cold as it was prior and it actually deteriorated from there. It quickly started blowing warm air. At this point I was kicking myself, second guessing my approach to proactive vehicle maintainance care.Fast forward to me returning to VS with my concern about the performance of my recently " maintained" AC system. After running additional tests on my car for about an hour, Matt informed me that they determined there must be a leak in the device that is positioned within the dashboard and it will be about a 5hr job costing between $800 - $1000 to repair. Swallowing back tears, resisting exploding in anger, and knowing the utmost importance of having a working AC in the desert, I reluctantly agreed to come back the next day to have the work done.I left the office, having many thoughts racing through my mind. I don't know a whole lot about cars, but it was clear to me that I should really get a second opinion. I called a garage that I had used in the past, and was told to come right in. An AC System Performance test was conducted and determined that there was a leaking oring, which they then replaced immediately resulting in a complete and total charge of $151.33. My system has been blowing extremely cold and I haven't had any further issues since.Let this be a cautionary tale!!!!

I was leaving for an 7 hour trip north and the engine light came on. Made a u turn on Gene Autry trail and drove to valley smog and repair. Mike drove my car aroundD the back and hooked up a scanner. Came back and said it was nothing to worry about. Thank goodness! Our trip north was a success. And, he did not charge me for the service.

I am new to Cathedral City, moving here in July from Phoenix, Az. I was wanting to get an oil change on the vehicle I bought since moving here. I got a flyer in the mail advertising Valley Smog and Auto Repair. I thought I would give them a try since there were coupons attached to the flyer. So I was also saving money. Not only did I save money, but found an honest and reliable auto shop.

Came here for my first smog check on a vehicle I bought since moving to California and I couldn't be more impressed with the speed and professionalism the staff exhibited during my visit. I'll definitely be back for my future repairs and inspections!

This place is an absolute scam. They quoted my mother 400 dollars for a starter job. 300 for the starter (refurbished at that) and 100 for the labor. I spoke to a person named Wayne, he told me to go ahead and try to find one cheaper and call him back. I did exactly that, found a new starter at pep boys for 150. I call him back and he's got a huge attitude all of a sudden when I state that I have found it and bought it. He then says, "we don't take customers provided parts". Then continues to denie all that he said before. A sore loser and a scam. Don't go here everyone, don't let these people rip you off.

I called the repair shop about my Jag. The gentleman I spoke with told me they didn't have the means to work on a Jag, but he was very helpful and knowledgable; providing me with information I needed ... and very generous with his time. I really appreciated it.

These guys are awesome, they always do a great job, whether it's smog a tune-up or just performing an inspection on a vehicle I want to purchase. Reasonable priced and fast and efficient.
