Larry's always gives us a good price on maintenance and repair of our cars, always shows us the broken/removed parts and they have a warranty on newly installed parts. I always get treated fairly. Check 'em out!

Larry and his crew are the BEST! we've been coming to Larry for over 25 years (he worked elsewhere before this location), and we have never had any problems with the work. Accurate, on time, and extremely reasonably priced. We've never had a hard sell for extra stuff or a fake diagnostic for unnecessary repairs. Trust me, you definitely need Larry if you want a trustworthy mechanic that gets it right the first time.

After receiving a $900+ quote from a local shop in Castro Valley for all 4 brakes & rotors to be done, I called Larry. I've always gone to Larry in the past, but had this other place inspect on a Sunday when my car started making horrible sounds. Larry isn't open on Sundays.Without inspection, he quoted me a couple hundred less!! After inspection he called & said my fronts were like NEW and said my rears had to be done. When I picked up my car he showed me what my brake pads and rotors looked like and why they had to be done. I'm always thankful for the explanation and honesty.

Larry I think you are rude and very condescending. You never called with my estimate so I came back 4 hours later for an update. You questioned where I live and why I chose your shop (you have a lot of good reviews is why as I stated to you). I am a commuter so I do 90% of my business in the Bay Area. You went to far telling me about how you were ripped off by someone whose car you repaired. I was offended!! I have worked for over 25 years at my job, own my home and have Excellent credit! I grew up in Hayward and my Dad lives 10 minutes from your shop. I understand we are in trying times but don t run off the hands that feed you. You gave me the worst experience I have had at an Auto Repair Shop!

Larry knows his stuff. You would be foolish to not take your car to him for his expertise. Wish I had a pic to post cause every star deserves one & that's exactly what he is - A STAR! So instead I'll just give him 5 of them tho he deserves TONS more!

First, this man is 100% HONEST! MY new mechanic going forward. Over the phone he was very nice and reasonable. In person I was shown parts and broken down why my issue was occurring with my vehicle. I wasn't taken advantage of price wise either. This place is clean, honest and very customer friendly. I highly recommend.

We just had a minor emergency driving back from LA to SF. My battery light came on and my power steering went out on the highway, so we pulled off at the next exit. We are so so thankful that exit happened to be right at Larry's. They took us right away, instantly diagnosed the issue (broken alternator pulley), ordered the part, and had us fixed and out of there in an hour for a very reasonable price. We were expecting to have to leave the car for a week and take an Uber into the city, but the team at Larry's took care of us and helped us get home safe and on time. We couldn't have been happier with the outcome!

What can I say about Larry? It is hard to describe a guy like this, simply because it sounds too good to be true. He is a naturally honest person who does everything the right way. I have taken my car to him many times and he has struggled with many of its arising problems. One-by-one he has discovered problem after problem and consulted me on how and when I should spend or save my money on repairs. He takes great effort to show everything he has repaired under my car. No mystery issues here, he will make sure to explain and show everything he identifies as an issue. Not only that, but he was candid an honest about my cars rapid deterioration and he did every repair and maintenance by-the-book. Everyone who has ever experienced parts failing on their vehicle will know that using manufacturer recommended parts and installation instructions is crucial, but what mechanic cares to do this?Larry does, and he does not just show it, he proves it. This guy is worth every penny he charges. I only wish there were more business owners like Larry out there. Highly recommended.

I broke down on the freeway and made it to Larry s which was the first repair shop I could crawl into. I lucked out. Larry was super busy, but took the time to quickly diagnose what was wrong. As others have noted, he runs an honest, reasonably-priced business. My car was out of the shop at the time/cost promised (with little extras, such as rotating my tires and topping up all fluids, thrown in) and runs very well.

Larry has taken care of our cars for years now, we dont have to visit often because we buy Japanese brands, but no car is bulletproof. Every job at Larry's was of exceptional quality and very reasonable prices for labor. Will keep taking our cars to him!

The AAA tow truck guy said I had a faulty starter system. Larry seemed skeptical when I called and told me to have them try to jump it again. No luck, so I had it towed to Larry's. He rushed out to look at it when we got there and had the car running in just a couple of minutes. There were some lights on that he said he wanted to check so he kept it overnight so he could look it over in the morning (it was almost 5pm). He charged it up and in the morning concluded the lights were just on because my battery had been drained and the car was fine. He was done by 9:30 and didn't charge me anything when I came to pick it up. Very honest and very fast! I told all my coworkers about him and I'll be coming back when there really is something wrong with my car!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Battery

Off hand the place looks like a rundown warehouse and inside looks like expected of a mechanic shop. Service is top notch and Larry is very knowledgable with utmost skills. Anybody who is looking for a quality mechanic, please go here! You will not be disappointed. No #1 recommendation for Castro Valley and neighboring cities.

Larry and his crew does amazing job. Even with my stupidity of trying to save money by trying to fix myself then end up breaking something very important, they still fix it with no hassle. Larry even took the time to give me a call and tell me that I can get rebate on the parts he used. I don't think I'll go to another mechanic after this. I recommend this shop to anyone that's in the bay area.

Very very nice service. The maintenance include oil change, tire rotation, brake pad check, and a lot more. Once, they also find leak on my transmission and direct me to the dealer since my car is still under warranty. They just try to do as much maintenance and checking as they can, not for extra charge but just to keep us safe on road.

Neighbors turned us on to Larry's Auto and have been taking all of our cars here for over 8 years. Larry is trustworthy and has always done A+ work on our tires, brakes, oil, suspension, etc.

Today I had to find emergency repair service for my Prius 2007 because Red colored triangle Icon with loud sound was displayed on my car dashboard every 2 miles after my long trip. I was afraid to drive car far with this death alert and started to call our local Castro Valley services. One company was busy and offered to schedule app in a couple days, another company insisted on Computer Diagnostics for $150 and leaving car there for 24 hours.... all that was horrible for me. Then I called Larry's... they asked me some details about my car behavior and suggested to come right away. I loved their service...they found a simple reason for serious alert - low oil level and fixed it right away. Also they scanned tires and brakes, glasses, leaks and let me know about all potential issues that I'll have to deal in the future. Price and time of the service was wonderful. I will return back to them with any next issue.

My car kept overheating. I called a few other mechanics around here and when I described what was wrong they all said it was heater core and to fix would be 1200. I contacted Larry's garage I explained to him what was going on he told me it may not be heater core. Anyways long story short he took a look at it and determined out of testing it was only a hose problem. He just saved me 1100 for his honesty and professionalism. I wilm definatley bring in any of my cars if there is an issue in the future. Not many honest mechanics out there. That is larry!

DO NOT go to this garage. They put a deep scratch on my driver door when my car was serviced there. I pointed it out immediately to Larry when I went to pick up my car. At first he said he has a friend that has a body shop that he will call to get the scratch fixed. Next he called to say "he's busy, maybe next week". I called Larry the next week and now he accused ME that the scratch was already there. I have a witness that watched Larry and I walk around the car noting any dings or scratches BEFORE the service was done to my car and that fresh deep scratch was not there prior to the service. When Larry back peddled on assuming responsibility, I did tell him that I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for which he responds by hanging the phone up on me. Bad unprofessional business.
