Stayed here for a night and was a little nervous after reading some reviews. Not sure what everyone was talking about! The place was clean, super easy check in process, was quiet, and exactly what you would expect from a motel. We did bring our own sheets out of an abundance of caution but I don't think that's necessary. We stayed with our dog and it was just fine! Definitely would stay here again.

I thoroughly read the reviews before booking. I was a little reluctant but very glad I did! The room was so clean, check in process was easy, had everything a hotel room would have with the bonus of a full kitchen. Seems like a lot of these negative reviews are from people thinking they were booking the ritz-Carlton or something. It s a MOTEL. And it s INEXPENSIVE. Were you expecting a personal butler and 5 star amenities??? I mean do your research ppl. Overall the location is amazing right across the street from a great restaurant on the water and a beach. And it met all our basic needs for the weekend. I would come back. Of note, I loved the old school, small business feel of it! I d rather give my money to an independent hardworking person than a greedy hotel chain.

Paper thin wall as that let in the sound of your neighbor s TV at 4am and cigarette smoke as if they were in the same room as you. If that s your idea of a good place to stay then this is your spot. I was going to leave a decent review as it s cheap, good location, nice manager/owner, and otherwise is good enough for a last minute booking. But with the neighbor issue, even after asking politely to be quieter no thanks. Never again will we stay here.

If you need a place to crash for the night (and that's it) in North Lake Tahoe this is it. I've stayed at a fair share of motels in the Tahoe area and this place is the most bang for your buck. It's actually a lot more cozy/clean than a lot of places I've stayed at before. Rooms were clean (they may have missed the bathroom in a sense where the previous guest's soap/shampoo/conditioner were still in there) but the room seemed clean enough (vacuum marks all over the floor and no noticeable dirt otherwise). Most importantly, it's pretty well-lit on the inside (Ive been to motels where some of the lamps didn't work AT ALL..) and WARM, just crank up the heater. Walls are incredibly thin, and it seems they allow dogs as I heard dogs barking on both sides of our room as well as loud conversations. Take it for what it is, after a long day on the slopes, you'll be too tired to care anyway. Thank you Ed and Star!!!

I was honestly nervous to book this place after reading the reviews, but after my stay with my husband and dog, I m so glad I did! The motel was clean (I even brought my own sheets out of precaution but didn t need to use them), had everything we needed (fridge, microwave, plentiful towels) and was right across the street from the beautiful beach and close to several restaurants. The owner was very accommodating with the check in and check out times. There are only 8 rooms, which we liked as our dog gets anxious in larger complexes with a lot of people. I will say the walls are thin and if you re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs. But for the price, especially compared to other places in the area, we really couldn t complain. If we re ever in the area again, I wouldn t hesitate to book again.

This place has a fabulous location with a beautiful view of lake Tahoe. The room was clean enough and had some cute touches like nice mugs and plenty of towels. The room was not super comfortable to sleep in. The beds were very firm (too firm for me). The windows had a great view but the curtains let in a lot of light in the morning. There is also almost no sound proofing and I heard other guest's conversations both late at night and early in the morning. There were no cockroaches or bed bugs but we did find a few spiders, many ants and a beetle. The bugs were harmless and commonplace in lake Tahoe.Ultimately this place was well priced for what it offered. Which was a clean but dated room in an amazing location.

Conclusion: Bring noice cancelling headphones to wear over your noise cancelling ear buds.Pros: can park right in front of your room, easy to bring in luggage.Cons: this place is a DUMP and a half. The man checking in was wearing an old shirt with prominent grease stains in what should have been my first warning. The rooms themselves are OLD, like I walked into an 80s trailer park. Little to no amenities, the cheapest tiny flat screen tv, a knocking heater, a leaky shower, a wobbly toilet seat, and beds that feel like they're made of matchsticks and cardboard. The walls themselves are so ridiculously thin we could hear literally everything our neighbors were saying, and they were speaking slightly below conversational volume. Not to mention they owner put us in the room next to check-in, so we could hear every conversation from both sides of the room as well. The owner should just knock down all interior walls (there is no way they're load-bearing being that thin) and just hang up curtains between rooms, it would be as effective at noise-cancellation than the paper-mache walls currently, it'd foster community amongst the guests, and it'd save the owners money so they could finally buy one clean t-shirt.

The only positive thing I can say about this lodge is that it was the only one available that weekend under $300 and it was close to the beach. Besides that, everything beyond disappointing. H room is outdated 30 years. We entered using an actual key, not a plastic card. The hotel room had webs in every corner of the room and bathroom. We had to kill multiple spiders. Had to hold down the toilet handle 7 seconds to fully flush. The shower head from the 90s sprayed as if it was hooked to a fire hydrant. Refrigerator had stickers from previous occupants or unprofessional owners. It also had left over ice in the freezer. Walls had many paint touch ups completely a different color of original paint. And to top it off, no air conditioning in the place, had to leave the windows open all night. The main window by the entrance to the room had a broken lock, so a piece of wood had to be placed in the jam to keep it closed when not occupied. If it was an option to get another room, I still wouldn't have agreed, given that there is only 8 rooms and all were booked. Took pictures of everything. I wouldn't stay here again even if it was free.

Comfortable , affordable, and conveniently located motel that offers the bare necessities at a great price, with friendly service, and everything you need to stage your trip for the lake! TIP: Book directly through the hotel and it is CHEAPER than using an app. Details follow:[Checkin]The staff was super friendly and offered us late checkin and a few extras that we needed. They were super accommodating and really friendly to us tourists![Rooms]The rooms were wonderful as well! Pretty basic in terms of what they offer, it had more of a cabin in the woods feel. We really enjoyed the stay! They have a small fridge, a microwave, and comfortable beds! We were pretty happy with what we got, especially for the price![Location]This is located right on the shore in Carnelian Bay! It s about 5 minutes away from Safeway, and plenty of places to eat nearby. Be careful - most places to eat around here close at 10PM!Overall, great place to stay if you re looking for a place to sleep and affordable!

First of all, location is perfect - its just 3 mins walk of beautiful Carnelian Bay which is as well visible from lodge s windows. Owner is very helpful and kind - he offered us a room with kitchenette although we didn t ordered one. Room was comfortable, very cosy and clean enough. It gave us a feeling of sleeping in a cabin though rather than in a regular motel which was cool for us, but it might ve been better with some updates to equipment. TV is very modern and you have wide variety of channels. We recommend this plac

Dirty and run down. Beds were comfy with clean sheets, but everything else was not very nice. The room was never cleaned during our stay and toilet paper was never replenished. WiFi was very unreliable. Furnishings were tired and broken. Some lights didn't work. Many surfaces were grimy and the room needed a new paint job. The kitchenette was dirty and had a broken down fridge with a dangling door (There was another working fridge). I assumed that this would be a basic motel that had been updated over the years. Instead it seems to have had few repairs and upgrades in a long time.

Great low key place to sleep And convenient location. Next to 711 and the bus. Very Clean!! Reasonable; if they have availability. Pet friendly and organic products unlike other hotels in the area that use toxins. I would seriously recommend; as the best option for North Lake Tahoe travel. Ed the owner is always happy to accommodate any requests with a smile.

You are paying for what you get regarding the hotel part... but I will say that the hotel is clean, friendly staff, the thing we love the best is the view of the water is right outside the hotel door, takes 1 minute to walk to then water. There's a public Pier to walk on, it's lit up at night. There's restaurants, 7-Eleven and a coffee shop, within walking distance. We took lots of pictures of the water, it's beautiful, we will be back!

For starters, the restrooms are weird. You walk into the bathroom and you find yourself in the shower right away. The toilet and sink are on the wrong side of the shower curtain, very awkward. What really sealed the deal and made us cancel our trip mid-stay was that we had asked the manager to please not enter the room to clean. He went ahead and let himself in around 7 am while my mother in law was there alone. He said he thought we were out (we still had two nights left in our stay) and promptly left which only makes us believe that he was there for anything else besides cleaning purposes. If you value your safety and privacy- look elsewhere for places to stay. For the same price, you can have a luxury suite in Reno at any of the trusted casino resorts.

Inexpensive quaint motel. Very basic necessities, clean beds, fairly quiet. There is a 7-11 next door, CBs restaurant, post office and a laundromat. Gar Woods is Kitty corner across the street. Nice stay. Owners are very nice.

Super awesome spot. Doag park and docks across the street, as well as a pricey restaurant. Two other food spots and a 24 hour 711 in close walking distance. Hotel was clean, comfortable and hospitable. Some rooms are available with kitchenettes and some of for pets. Loved it!!

Only 20 minutes from Squaw. The room was clean and warm. The kitchenette made it easy to survive the 5 night trip. The owners were very nice and accomodating.

Awesome location. Right across the street from a beautiful part of Tahoe. The owners (Ed & Joyce) are incredible. Very clean & spacious rooms. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Tahoe. Best rates in N Shore

It's an okay hotel. Pretty shady, but so does other in those hilly area. Cheap and easily located 40 mins from heavenly gondola which is where am sure you would go, of you are visiting Tahoe. Anyways, this hotel is situated at North Lake tahoe, right in the middle, so it's in the middle of almost everything. But hotel is old, that's y okay!!

Cheap is thw only positive thing I can say a out it. The screen on the outside bathroom window was cut they were aware of it but had not gotten "around to fix it yet". The same was true of the kitchen table chair

Good for what it is - a cheap place to sleep. Really thin walls though, I could hear a person snoring in the room next to me. My room also had the squeakiest bed of all time.

This is the most reasonable and easiest convenient location for out of towner's. It's simple and directly across the street from the beach and garwoods; also next to 711 for snacks and old post office for breakfast. Ed the owner is super helpful and it's a low key spot for quick Tahoe trips.

We we're looking for something simple just for sleeping over the night, quick registration, to the point and what I love the most is that the room comes with a very small kitchen which it was perfect for our vacation time for a great price.

The location was great. The room was cozy. But next time I'll take my own blankets cause I started itching.
