Best service in Carlsbad. Very professional and very prompt with test. Knowledgeable and reliable service. Highly recommended, if you need your car tested for smog.10/10/23 Update. They have upgraded a lot of things recently. Place is bigger and brighter. The service is still the same as 4 years ago.

Best Smog Station! In and out in less than 45 minutes without an appointment . The owner is very efficient and professional. The smog certificate is processed online so it's a very seamless process. Matt has been the man I've taken my diesel & gas vehicles to for my SMOG/SMOKE Test for DMV registration. 1st come, 1st served, but he's quick & not going to take advantage of you.

Looks like they just moved into the place. Lots of confusion at the front desk and a long wait but the service was good. The waiting area was rather small compared to the large empty roped off area doing nothing.

I don t love these kinds of chores (smog check), but they are a necessary evil and this place actually made it downright enjoyable (somehow). After finding it hidden behind a mid-renovation Enterprise car rental, I was whisked into an immediate smog check, receiving $5 off (they have an online coupon I knew existed but didn t even ask for and yet they provided it anyway), listened to them politely explain to a wayward traveler that there were no auto body insurance locations nearby (super polite to this poor guy who received incorrect directions), then relaxed in the beautiful sunshine at their quiet facility while I waited. They are definitely no-frills, but I don t need to shop for candles and Birthday cards while having my annual smog check, and they went beyond in explaining when I d receive my results and how to finish DMV registration renewal.I dare say I m looking forward to reading my book in the sunshine and supporting this business again next year!

Super quick, super friendly, but also, very professional. Like just chatty enough to make you feel comfortable, while still working and not getting side tracked and prolonging your time their kinda chatty....which is the best!I came first thing in the morning, their service is first come first serve, I wanted to get in there right away, and once the gentleman opened, you could quickly tell that it was going to be a busy day...While answering multiple phone calls and helping another customer that was the second person in since opening (I was the 1st ), the gentleman still provided great service.I barely had time to really get into watching my Tik Toks, thinking I had a little time to myself...but nope, before I knew it, I was done and passed.I work in the area, which is how I ended up here, but the experience was so pleasant, so quick and professional, that I would seriously consider driving from downtown San Diego up to this location solely on the spectacular service.So, believe the hype because it IS REAL!Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

I can t say that I ever really enjoyed getting my car smogged, but this was actually a pretty pleasant experience. The guy running the place is professional, communicative, and quick. Recommend

This shop won t smog your car in the rain apparently. Just purchased a used vehicle and needed smog certificate asap to transfer vehicle into my name and get it registered. Went to a shop down the road that had no problem helping me out and getting it taken care of for the same price. The owner also had an attitude as soon as I drove in for no reason. Won t be using this company in the future.

Great service! I was in and out. They have a waiting area and it's super clean. Best of all, it was cheaper than the other places. Will go back next year!

I have had GREAT service repeatedly for many years. I am always told right away how long I can expect to wait (if at all) and it has never been more than 30 minutes including the smog check. The manager, Matt is professional and competent. I highly recommend this shop.

I have an older car 380SL so it took a little longer than a newer car but it was a very good experience and after leaving I went straight to AAA and had my tags in less then an 40 minutes

I've been coming here over a decade. Matt has always been friendly, fast, and super accommodating.Most recently, in the midst of COVID-19 I needed to get my car smog check completed. I was apprehensive because I fall in the "high risk" category. I called Matt, explained my situation, and he went above and beyond to provide a contact-free experience.Can't recommend enough.

I was in near immediate need for a smog check on my older vehicle and after being literally turned away from two other 'certified smog check' facilities, Carlsbad Smog was happy to serve me. I opened with the fact my vehicle was older and I knew it would cost more, but just needed to get the necessary certified smog check. The guy at Carlsbad Smog was friendly and professional, confirmed they would do it, and quoted a reasonable price and said, "about an hour, if thats ok". And wow, within 50 minutes they had my car checked out, certified as Passed and on my way! I was pleasantly surprised that professional, courteous and well run businesses still exist is today's crazy world. Thank you Carlsbad Smog!Service: Smog certification

I called the Carlsbad location looking for a four-door sedan, Melissa from that location said that she have a Nissan Altima when we got there in 15 minutes The manager Christian jumped into the conversation and stated that" we don't have a car for you", she was so belligerent and disrespectful our representative from nationwide insurance called her and she still wouldn't give us a regular four-door sedan and would not have the courtesy to tell us know that the nationwide liaison has talk to them, they just command my wife and I to sit in the lobby without informing us of anything.They both have no customer relations quality.
