I didn't give 5 stars because who can really say they LOVE the DMV! In my case, everything was smooth and efficient. Employees were friendly and helpful.

Fine, the employees moved the line along very well and we're friendly and efficient... Though making an appointment is kind of pointless, still somewhat 1st come 1st served.

I came on a Wednesday around 11 am. and only had a 30-minute waiting time. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Greeter is pushy, talks over people, and does not let customers talk. Online does not make it easy or intuitive to schedule an appointment.

Very quiet but I still had to bring the paper work home to fill out what happened to the good old days where you take care of everything there at once. But it doesn't matter I'll do it at home with my coffee.

It's a small and not very busy place which is great. Yesterday l was there. I saw a young man had come for a driver test, A young man driver candidate said he came from a road 2 hours away for the test and was 20 minutes late due to traffic, asked for help but the blonde woman with glasses, who was probably the supervisor or manager at window 8, did not even listen to the man. Although the young man said that he came here because he could not find an earlier appointment elsewhere, the woman said, "There is nothing to do," and sent the man away. Even though there were only a few cars outside for the test, the woman said there's a long lines, so there's nothing that she can do for him. But the truth is that appointments are already given according to the number of tests and no examiner waits for the candidates, candidate always wait for the examiner for minutes. Have you ever seen someone took the test on time? The woman seemed like a very unhappy person, I hope she stays in that way. I don't understand why someone hires those types of people who don't enjoy helping people. If it was private institution she could not stay there for a week.

Really nice instructors. Had a good experience overall, came in for my driving test for a 9:40 appointment, and I started the test at 9:45 since there were three instructors taking tests at once. Was not crowded as well. Kind work staff.

I got an appointment and it took 20 minutes to get in and out. Make sure to bring all your documents (passport birth certificate SSID) if you are getting the real I.D.

On the one hand, the system and the wait times were great. The employees are fair to good. I think that normally for me this would be a three point five or a four, but a) the second person I saw induced several seizures in me over the course of the afternoon b) I realise that my aura and seizures were making me act funny, but responding with dirty looks and yelling at me didn't help me. I understand my medical issues are my problem, but the customer service was slightly entitled, that's all. c) I had hoped for clearer signage.

Service was friendly and reasonably quick. I had to transfer title on vehicle, no problem. I was in and out in 20 minutes without an appointment.

RUDE! The employees here have the rudest customer service. Don t work here if you get bothered by people not my fault you re miserable. The guy at the front is also very rude and sassy! Ironic how it s the dmv office and you would think they would have good customer service. Just in general the employees feel some type of entitlement like calm down it s a 9-5.

I just had to write a review to counter the low 3.5 average score that this DMV has. I can't understand why the current score is so bad. This DMV is sooooo much better than any I have been to. The people there greet you at the door to help improve the efficiency of your appointment. Every employee there is working to help you and...with a great positive attitude. I think anyone who is dissatisfied with this DMV should try the one in Santa Clara; that DMV is a nightmare!!! Thanks to all the good people at Capitola DMV, I will be coming in for an appointment tomorrow,.

Surprisingly quick. Staff generally competent with sense of humor. Best experience at a dmv ever. (I lost my wallet four times in 2016)

Had a 2nd visit today to renew my license and get the real ID. I didn t have to wait. Everyone was friendly and professional. I ve filled up the application form, took the test and did all paperwork in less than 30m. Highly recommend!

Lovely office, especially if you make an appointment and get there early. Friendly staff, organized layout. They were able to keep going through a computer system outage that prevented the queuing system from working, nice work!

I am here to ease your DMV anxiety. This DMV is the best DMV. They still have to do allllll the annoying things that come along with running a DMV, but they do it with the BEST attitudes. Someone is running that place great and has fostered a friendly and upbeat environment.I ve never had to wait more than 20 minutes, which is ~dreamy~ compared to other DMVs.Just go with some time and a good attitude and you ll be just fine!

Went in to get a 'Real Id', was greeted as soon as I walked in and was helped. With an appointment (that didn't really matter)I was in and out in 10 minutes.The staff was all over it, and worked quickly to get myself and others who were there in and out quickly.

Wonderful, helpful, AWESOME people!They made the hour & a half long process for a new resident more than tolerable, & actually pleasant!Short waits, powered disability doors, plenty of seating, & touch screen testing made this DMV visit accessible enough to be physically possible for me to complete, too.The only thing I'd change is the height of those testing screens - they're WAY too high.

DMV has finally got it together. I was met at the front door by a nice gentleman who gave me a number, checked the progress for me and told me there was one number before me and it would only be few minutes wait. That never happened before. He was correct! I only waited a few minutes and I was called to the counter where a nice lady helped me. Not only 5 minutes later I was walking out the door with a smile on my face. Thank you for your help!

I needed to complete license renewal/REAL ID upgrade; website had several appts open so I chose 12:50, arrived at 12:48. Plenty of easy parking, some shaded (dog says thanks!) and no line at all ... I checked in, was directed to a window right away. Very pleasant people working there, they accommodated my hearing glitch (dead battery in one aid) and got me straightened out when I misunderstood directions and got into wrong line. They got my paperwork done and my vision tested and my photo taken all in about 15 minutes!

Much better system. Went to register a car my son just bought and even though the line was out the door, it ran smoothly and quick.

Best DMV experience I've ever had.I filled out the Real ID application online and uploaded my identity documents, they were approved and then I printed them all out and went to the Capitol DMV.It took me less than 15 to go in, have my application approved and take a new photo. I highly recommend submitting applications online before going in in-person, no one was stressed because they had everything they needed ahead of time and just needed to confirm with the physical documents. 10/10!Also, it was decorated festively and they have paintings of the beach on the wood walls, it was really homey and less like the grey hellscape of other DMVs I've been to!

Refused to honor the verified documents I uploaded in order to obtain my license. Stated I "shouldn't trust the website."What's the point of it, then?
