Reading reviews of many local car repair shops, it seemed everyone scams more or less. This one seemed to have better reviews so i decided to try it... Unfortunately they are just as bad. They will get you in the door with a low price, then makes sure something else is wrong w your car so u have to come back. Like your AC. Then, they will blame you or the car for the problem and charge you more to fix it. They will say, i dont have that part...that's a special order and charge you for overnight delivery. Make you come back... for a part that might not even be needed! Thats how they make more money off you. In the end you waste your time and money. I bet they have been doing these scams on hundreds of customers. Be careful. And i know why they get so many good reviews. He gives you a discount if you give them a good review!!

Honest place that does great work and charges fairly - always a pleasure dealing with anyone here in any capacity - everyone is pleasant and professional and knowledgeable - would recommend for any and all cars, not just Japanese makes

I was trying to find reliable mechanical shop for a long period of time and it appears this is the one. Prompt, explicit, quality service makes a huge difference. The courtesy shuttle service that delivers customers from/to the shop and not letting you waist any minute of your time makes this place unique.I really appreciate Kenny who made an awesome job by putting everything together in order to make great service happen!

Worst experience with a mechanic ever. Took my car in for steering rack and power steering issue. Mechanic confirmed that these parts needed to be replaced.Repair shop used cheap parts, and the problem was not fixed, however they gladly charged me $2,000 for the repair. From starting the car to simply backing it out of a parking space I could tell the problem persisted. The power steering unit whined constantly whether, sitting still wheels pointed straight forward, when driving, all the time there was nonstop whirring like a feral cat in heat. And the steering shuddered at any use of steering as well, regardless of speed.I immediately took the car back, and asked about the continuing issues. The response was disturbing, and no mention of the repair shop having problems fixing my car were stated to me until I came back to the repair shop with a still broken steering unit.Guy at the front desk said we ve gone the rough several steering racks and swapped out several power steering units trying to fix you car. We don t use cheap Chinese parts Your car is under warranty for 2 years for the [repair] so if it breaks again we ll replace the power steering unit or steering rack .When I asked why they didn t resort to OEM parts when having issues with the aftermarket parts they used, the response I received was no way we would use OEM that s too expensive .This is beyond usual customer service. The way I was treated as a returning customer left me completely shocked. They used cheaper parts. The power steering unit used is in fact Chinese and not worth the $300 charged. And the steering rack used was remanufactured and charged $660 for the part. (Brand new is $950, and for a vehicle such as a Subaru, any reputable mechanic knows to use OEM for this repair). I m not even sure that they used the right steering rack because it could have been that they ordered the wrong part. But instead of trying to fix my car they returned it to me broken but we re saying it was fixed.I took my car to a more reputable repair shop, where the same exact parts were replaced with OEM parts and my issue has been completely resolved.

Until you have a regular mechanic you trust, any car repair brings with it the anxiety of "Can I trust this shop? Will I be overcharged? Is this going to be an unpleasant experience?".I can say this about Japanese Auto Center - they will relieve you of those concerns. From my initial greeting from Ken, til I picked up my car later that day, it was an excellent experience.I was informed of the repair my car needed, as well as a repair that was suggested while my car was already 'open'. No push, no hard sell. The extra work seemed reasonable and the price was agreeable, so I move forward with the recommendation. My cost came to within $20 of the estimate, prior to taxes.I rarely give a 5 star rating because there is usually some detail that requires improvement. I have no hestitation in giving JAC 5 stars based on my experience.

Today, I had the oil, air filter and wiper blades changed, but had another mechanic tell me some other issues that needed to be addressed ASAP. So, I had Matthew check these issues, and unlike the other mechanic who used "scare tactics" Matthew assured me my 06' Honda Ridgeline was safe to drive a 300 Mile R/T I need to make next week. "HONESTY" was what brought me here on their Google and Yelp reviews. I will bring my truck back when I return and have them do the work. I think I found my new mechanic.

I have been a customer for over 10 years. I recommend them to my friends because they are honest and reasonable. They once helped me get a dishonest Dodge dealer to fix my car while it was under warranty. When you find a good place to take your car, you are very lucky.

My husband and I were looking for a reputable repair shop and felt like this was the place to go after reading the reviews. The service and prices were decent and it took less time than quoted for an oil change and new brakes. We will continue to take our car there in the future.

This review is based on my experience several years ago...PROGood service and they know what they are doing. They are honest and only do the repairs that is required. They also have good prices.CONWe have a disagreement on the type of oil they are using. They don't use the oil that is recommended by the car nor do they use a good brand of oil. He feels that the oil he is using for the cars are good and make the car last longer even though it's not recommended by the car manufacture. If you are a regular customer there and been using his oil, than just continue using it since your car is already got used to to the oil.Otherwise, bring your own oil for him to use.OVERALLI will recommend him and I will continue using him but I switched cars. Now I am back using a Japanese car but I am no longer in the area. But if I live in the area again, I will go back to him.

Myself and the rest of my family has always trusted Japanese Auto Center with all of our repair and services needs. It is hard to find a good and trust worthy auto shop and I am so glad to have found this place. I have been brining my own car here for over 15 years, back when they were at their old location behind the Fallbrook Mall. Every time I go in I never have to worry because I know they will not take advantage of me and preform excellent work on my car. There is also quite the variety of magazines to read while you wait or if it is a major repair, they always give me a ride to home or work in their shuttle van. Love this place and will continue to there until I can no longer able to drive.

They were willing to check my car of course for a few, fair enough, but when it came to repairing my car they said we might not even able to find parts, on other words they give up too easily...
