I stayed across the street from Sam's General Store recently and popped in the first day to get a coffee. The cafe is very cute and Holly, the barista, was such a joy. She makes a great cup of coffee! The next two mornings we were back when the doors opened for coffee and delicious breakfast empanadas and shared an almond croissant. Everything was yummy. It was pretty cold the mornings we were there and one of the staff lit the fireplace for us in the front dining area. I loved having this sweet little place that was bright and cheery on a rainy morning so conveniently located to our cottage where we were staying. We will definitely go back the next time we're in town.

An ADORABLE local find. I wish I would have found this sooner. Although the online menu didn t list them, there was 5 customs lattes. Highly recommend the pumpkin spice, but there is also s mores and honey cbd. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outside there was a fire pit with 6 chairs around. Food service was fast and friendly.

Sam s General Store is a historic unique property with a ton of charm and great outdoor space to sit and eat. We ordered a few coffees, bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and then banana bread with Nutella . Everything was outstanding. This is a 100% must visit location in Calistoga.

Adorable lunch spot! Other lunch spots around had long waits but Sam's is off the main road and was super quiet. We really enjoyed the sandwiches, the bread was delicious. There's a full general store with snacks, coffee, drinks and wine. They have very cute and quaint outdoor seating (even have fire pits!) and really nice historic architecture. Would highly recommend

Really nicely restored 19th century cottage with a small store to order sandwiches and salads. They were out if the salad my wife wanted but kindly made up one while we waited a short time. Many places would just say they were out.

Best breakfast and brunch place in town. Your one stop shop for breakfast or brunch in Calistoga. They have great pastries, great sandwiches, great drinks. Can be a bit pricey but it is well worth it.

I try to get to Calistoga twice a month to hike, afterwards I come here to get a half guacamole half cream cheese everything bagel and a cup of coffee!!! I love this place (a little on the expensive side, but what isn t in Napa Valley). My 4 s reflect the fact that, often the person taking your order is the person delivering your order, making for a bit of a wait at the POS. I suggest getting one more body to help out, but other than that, I highly recommend Sam s General!

Literally best coffee I've ever had! My daughter said same thing. I've traveled to Italy - their espresso doesn't disappoint and beautiful atmosphere indoors and outdoors!

Beautiful setting, decent coffee, consistently rude/socially awkward folks working the front. Most recent experience we had the barista, older, heavy set fella who s rocking a beard slammed my girl s drink on the counter after adding a sassy, disingenuous have a great day . Caught em as they were closing so I m assuming that s where the attitude was coming from. But my lady was all smiles and greeted everyone and I even tipped these folks that seemed to be miserable with the idea of doing what they get paid to do. We come here all the time, even racked up a free coffee but I didn t want to order it because I could sense the stale attitude in the place. Don t really have many options out here in Calistoga, and unfortunately my lady likes the coffee here, but if it was up to me, I d redeem my points and never come back. Buy your coffee somewhere else and sit down in their seating area, that s the only decent thing about this place after this experience.

Do not be fooled by the inconspicuous name, this place is a must if you are stopping in the Calistoga area. The atmosphere is stellar. I loved the home-y / cozy B 'n B vibe from the place. Its super peaceful and slightly out of the downtown bustle. Perfect for bringing a book and letting it take you away for a bit.The coffee and baked goods were excellent, but what I was really impressed by were their overnight oats. They were delicious. Those paired with some iced coffee and a croissant were just what I needed after a day driving the canyons.I will be stopping here again the next time I am in the area.Thank you Aaron!

I had the best mocha there today. The perfect combination of a really flavorful dark-roast coffee, a good tasty chocolate, and just the right amount of sweetness. Yum!

We were in town on vacation and found this gem. We had breakfast here two days in a row, it was so good! The avocado toast is a must try! We loved the "everything but the bagel" seasoning on it! We also tried the egg cups.....so delish! The specialty coffee was perfectly prepared. The staff was super friendly and the place was so cute! We hope to visit Calistoga again and Sam's will definitely be on the list to stop by!

Today I was truly disappointed at my order. I order two large vanilla oat milk lattes and I received what seemed like a cappuccino, more foam than anything. If I'm paying for a large latte, I expect a latte, like we usually receive, it just didn't happen today :-(
