Purchased a Groupon for a full synthetic oil change. The place was fairly busy and they seemed very rushed. I waited about 10 minutes to be seen, then was told the oil change would take about 20 minutes. I came back and he was just finishing up filling the oil. I am hoping it was the full synthetic oil that I paid for, as the canister was unmarked. He asked me to sign the work order and present my Groupon and that it would be an extra $8 for fees. I paid the additional amount and was on my way. Not much for customer service here and honestly the fees should be included in the Groupon price. Likely won't return.

I ve been here twice - they re very fast, efficient, and kind. As a woman, I ve been to shops that make me feel uncomfortable, which is something you don t have to worry about here. Truly the best place to get your smog check. Inexpensive and fast. No wait. Maybe I just lucky on the wait, but I called ahead of time. The smog cert was $8.25. Some places included in price and some don't. BUT the other guys were charging $71.xx and I am unsure if they were including the smog cert. Anyways, most places charge $60 or $70... in the East LA area. And just happy I got this done so I can renew my license plates at the freaking DMV... now that is a wait time!!!! Some guy on here was complaining about a 10-15 minute wait time. Ridiculous. Perspective!!!! Expectations!!!!Most people will be happy with the service... then there's the 1%enters.... morrons!!!Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Came in today for a SMOG exam. Armen saw me waiting outside as the other two technicians were busy. Armen made eye contact with me and got my car pulled up right away for inspection. I literally waited 15 seconds to be serviced. Anyhow, the test took about 5-10min and passed. I got a certificate and they also sent the electronic copy to CA DMV. Armen was a cool guy and answered all my questions, honored my Groupon and had me on my way in no time. He even said hi to my dog and let her sniff his hand while we waited in the front waiting area (mmmm car oil! New smells for her! Haha) thanks guys see ya in 2 years! Service: Smog certification

Let me begin this review with a three letter word....WOW!! Armen is an amazing guy and mechanic. He knows his stuff and attacks the problem brought to him with confidence, knowledge, and heart. When you think about it we bring and lay our auto problems in his lap. He does not shrink away from them but speaks very frankly and honestly letting you know his initial thoughts and impressions and tells you his solutions and how he is going to do the repair and solve the problem or problems. He is very honest, does what he says he is going to do. He is very personable, and a gentleman and treats you like a friend from the get go. I am so happy with his work and results, I will be using Dr Smog and lube for ALL the future work on my car and highly recommend him and his people to everyone! My challenge was making my 42 year old Lincoln MK V pass smog, which he did. He explained what needed to be done and asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the work. I said yes and he took on my challenge and solved the problems to completion and my car passed smog with flying colors. Not only is he amazing with smog issues but does all other auto needs from oil changes to brakes to the issues we bring our cars to a shop for. I can't express how happy and satisfied I am and would like all of you reading this to experience the same satisfaction for yourselves. Thank you so much Dr. Armen for curing my ailing 1998 Ford F150!!!My truck failed at another smog shop, that are not equipped for repairing.Armen calmly analyzed, and fixed the problem in about 2 1/2 hours later!I though I'd have to put my 25 year old truckster to pasture. Armen saved my truck for a least 2 years...or until it's smog time again! He thought it might be a good time to sell it, while it's running very good now....maybe??? Thank you again, Armen, class act, true professional operation/shop! Initially found this facility through a Groupon deal for an oil change.Excellent service and proprietor was a straight shooter ! Going there again!2nd times another charm as my oil and rear brakes were changed in record time after making my appointment last week. I will continue to use Dr Smog N Lube as I m very satisfied!!

I went for a smog test and the result was Not Ready . They figured this out in one minute or less of connecting to my OBD port, so I don t understand why they still charged me when they didn t even run the whole test. I ve gone to other places that will not charge or charge just a small fee if you don t pass. Mine wasn t even a did not pass came to find out it s because I put a new battery in the week before so the car needed time to go through some driving cycles to update the data needed for this test. Anyway.. I didn t go back here for the next smog test and will never return. Went somewhere else and it passed fine a week later. Just noticed they did this SAME thing to another customer. They really should NOT charge when your car immediately shows NOT READY.IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: it actually took two more times after my visit at your location for my car to be ready and pass. You guys told me to come back after 50 more miles of driving, but guess what it still would not have been ready and it would have given you the opportunity to charge me yet again. The location I took it to did NOT charge me when it was still NOT READY and they explained how it s done . Which is how I know that you guys saw it was not ready on your device because the first thing you guys did is plug the OBD device just like they did. I did watch. Also, most people don t go around thinking that changing a battery is going to affect anything in a negative way so just like you want to say I could ve told you guys, you guys could ve actually asked. Very simple thing for you to do since you guys are supposed to be the ones that know about cars and are the professionals when it comes to doing a smog test. You don t look out for your clients. The other location earned my buisness and I will spread word about them to friends and family. Already started by writing them a great review.

Took my car in for an oil change and to replace windshield wiper blades today .Again Armen is absolutely fantastic..So professional and thorough along with being a very pleasant human being..his employees are great as well..couldn't have had a better experience

My experience with Armen and his crew has been nothing less than exceptional. Hard working, fast, and kind was my main takeaway. They understand that we re all just people dealing with a car situation and yes, in the end they re a business, but they still do their best to make sure that your problem is resolved in the best way possible, even going above and beyond that. If you re looking for a trusted mechanic than look no further. Armen actively showed good will towards me and tried his best to make sure my car left the shop in the best condition possible. In his words if it was my car I d want it to be this way. I 100% recommend this place for anyone needing help with a car issue or even just to get an oil change. Support local especially when these locals aren t screwing you over like how other mechanic shops sometimes are!

I'll never go anywhere else. I went in for a smog test while they were super busy. There was a bunch of people already there when I arrived and I only waited 10 minutes or so. They hustle and work to get you in and out quickly. I asked about getting the car serviced and he actually did it all today. By the time I went to Porto's and had lunch he had changed my oil, the filters, and my battery. I never expected to get so much done today!! Great prices.

Armen and his crew are marvelous! They always provide outstanding service and work. Any issues my vehicles have they explain the issue, the needs and service along with the cost so I always am in the know and I learn about my vehicle and the service it needs. I feel very comfortable every time I am at the shop because I feel valued and respected. This is the best place to go to in Burbank!

They're the best! Whether you need basic maintenance or advanced tweaks on your car, these are the guys. Super professional, nicest people ever, competent, honest and they actually care. I've done all my works with them for both my cars and I wouldn't go to anyone else

Dr. SMOG and Lube is my definite recommendation for an oil change. You need to call for an appointment and sometimes they can take you same day. These guys are so friendly and professional as well as extremely fast. Walk across the street for a Portos treat or to Rite Aid and by the time you're done shopping your car is ready to go. Very reasonable price, as well

This place is the best. I've been coming here for my last 3 smog checks. Armen was very helpful in getting my car to finally pass. Repairs done at his shop did the trick. Highly recommended.

I went here today for a smog check on my 1991. Most places I called only checked cars 2000 and newer (including my old smog place). They were fast, efficient, and polite. It was $60 altogether which is about average. Once they got my car in, it took around 15-20 minutes. Thanks George :) (PS. Love the signs)

Armen is the best! I've had several negative experiences in the past with male mechanics trying to take advantage of me. Armen always explains my services needed and doesn't try to sell me things that are unnecessary. The price is fair and he does the work fast. I found him by asking an Uber driver who he went to. I'm so glad he recommend Dr. Smog and Lube. I found my mechanic for life!Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Dr Smog and Lube is my go to mechanic. These gentlemen have fixed so very many of my car issues. Dead engine, destroyed axle, oil issues, air conditioner, tons of stuff with the shocks... etc.. and of course all my oil changes.They keep meticulous records, they are always courteous and professional. On top of all that, they are across the street from Porto's bakery so you have a great place to eat and wait if need be (never more than 20 min).I highly recommend these folks for anyone like me, too pretty to fix their car.art

I went here with a groupon and after the guy ran my test he told me that my Groupon was invalid because I visited their location already. I looked into my history to see if I had gone there because I no memory that I did. Turns out I had visited their other location two years ago and didn't realize it was the same brand. After explaining this he basically said he didn't' care and was extremely rude about it for no reason. Then he forced me to pay despite already having purchased the Groupon. I asked if he could refund my groupon on his end and he said that's not his problem and to deal with it myself. I found it very unnecessary how defensive and rude he responded to my simple request. Later groupon ended up refunding me after I explained my situation which was lucky because there was a chance they wouldn't have. Dr. Smog and Lube likely got double paid. On top of all of this, he said that my smog certification was sent through electronically to the DMV. A few months later I got mail from the DMV that they never received my certification from them. Now I have to go and get another smog test done since smog tests expire after 90 days. This simple thing that shouldn't have been a big deal has now turned into an entire headache because Dr. Smog and Lube's associates do not care about their customers and if theyre having a bad day they will even go out of their way to screw you as they did to me. They just want your money and for you to go away as quickly as possible. Don't go here unless you want to deal with guys who are rude and thankless for no reason. There are nicer people and plenty of other businesses that are worth giving your business to.UPDATE:The Shop owner has since responded to my review. As you can see this guy really doesn't care about his customers. The apology doesn't seem sincere when it is followed up with a defense and he didn't even address the over the top rudeness. By the way when I bought this Groupon it said nothing about 1 time use for the brand - Dr. Smog and Lube REGARDLESS of the location. There was another location that I had used years ago and hadn't remembered that, probably because getting a smog check is such an insignificant event - Yet somehow I will never forget how terrible this most recent experience was.Also, if you scroll down you can see that others have also experienced how rude this guy is and how bad their customer service is. Trust me, just go somewhere else and save yourself an unnecessary headache. To the shop owner- We are people, not just numbers on your balance sheet and you should learn to treat us as such.Service: Smog certification

Be aware - that the team working here is absolutely un professional,they don t value your time,if you are coming in for any service other than smog check, in my case I came for oil change..Before coming in I called for an appointment,I was asked to walk-in and no appointment needed,when I was here ..I literally had to wait for more than 2.5 hours having nobody to acknowledge,nor anyone getting into action and provide a service .Never again will consider this place for any service,nor I recommend to anyone.

Armen is great... he got me in and out in less than 30 minutes for my oil change... the pricing was great... they went the extra mile for me... very impressive family owned business.... I will never use any other business but these guy from now on... I highly recommend Dr. Smog n Lube

I don't know what kind of Smog Service they give here, because I just stopped by to get some gasoline. This is one of the station's said usually has very good prices on their Arco gas, but they only have three islands so sometimes it gets a little crowded and the corner is quite busy as it's across from the popular Porto's Bakery. I've never had a problem here, and the thymus I've needed the key to the restroom, the help was always accommodating

Found this place via Groupon. I'd go back here for smog without a Groupon too. The guy was super nice. And the powers that be, smiled down upon my Chrysler product and deemed it fit once more for operation in the great state of California! Whats not to love?
