Guy said car would not pass before he even did a thing. Told me I had wrong cat converter installed in my car and recommended me to a muffler shop to have it replaced. Technician told me to not come back. Went elsewhere, car passed with no problem.

I had a good visit on a Thursday at noon. No wait, no issues with my test. $45 all in, with online coupon. 15 minutes. Large, comfortable waiting room.

Reason for 2 starsIf your car is not literally Brand new just rolled off the assembly line this technician will fail you.Regardless if you fixed everything he recommended spend 2500.00 plus dollars and even the computer says everything emissions wise passes this tech "Mario" will fail you. I'm sorry they're a hose with tape on it. I'm sorry my car is 2008 with over 218k miles on it it's not perfect to this man.Yes you read that right here failed me cause of tape on a hose. That tape didn't hinder the computer test what's so ever. It was all this man and his ego.Oh and don't forget your paper work when you go to retest - cause it's too much work for them to back literally 7 days to pull out their copies of prior results. Try to get you to pay again -The owner was nice only reason I gave 2 stars though he tried to play that good cop bad cop role and try to calm down the situation. Even recommended going to his other shop.But regardless won't return ever nor recommend this place. Long as that tech Mario that thinks he's god stands above the California emissions is there you all lost any future business from me or my peoples.Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Took my truck to this place for the 1st time. About 15 minutes after pulling my truck into the bay the mechanic pulled my truck out, left it running and without walked away from me. As he was walking away he hand gestured to me to leave and yelling he couldnt do it without any explanation. The Technician is completely unprofessional. To make matters worst i was standing next to the owner and owner said nothing to him. I refused to leave without an explanation as to what happened. According to owner, Reason he refused to complete smog check is because technician is unfamiliar with California emissions approved headers. Headers are 100% legal and California emissions approved. Had he asked me, i couldve pointed out the plaque in the engine bay.After this i went to another random shop and completed my check in about 1 hour.Service: Emissions testing

I visited the location on Lambert, so I can t give 100% true review for the Brea location, but seeing as its the same operator at both locations, I give it an A+ also.

Very comfortable! Unquestionably professional in operation, homey in comfort. No other automotive service shop comes close to offering what I found here, it was like going to dad's to get the work done. Totally 5 stars with 2 thumbs up and a smile! I wouldn't hesitate to advertise or recommend DownTown Smog again and again! Be prepared, they have awesome sculptures, art and a clothing line by Proton showing in there from locals that is worth a view and is available for purchase.

I went to do a smog check in a Thursday morning. The service is completed quickly. Staff was nice. The online coupon was honored. No complaints. I won't say it is a very clean and neat place with nice furniture, but it is acceptable. Most of all, if a maintenance shop looks nice or not doesn't matter to me as long as they do the job in an efficient way.

Can not recommend this place enough! I moved to the area and didn't know where to go and trust for a quick Smog Check to register my vehicle. Smog was a breeze, quick and easy. I also brought my 2nd vehicle today (11/10/22) for another smog check and was in and out in 30 minutes! during peak hours too. 5 authentic stars from me.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

This is THE BEST smog experience I have had. First of all; Ray is such a friendly and efficient owner. He gets the job done quick while I hang out in an inviting waiting room. He got the job done right quickly the first time and for bare bottom prices too. 5/5 stars on this establishment.

Always in and out pretty quick. Prices are reasonable. Kind of a weird vibe with the random cat and a very unusual collection of furniture and house accessories, but the owner is pretty cool. We bring all our cars here every time it's time to get a smog check on each of them. They must be doing something right because we keep coming back.

The guys are all very nice here and they take great care of you. Quick service and they let you know of any recalls on your vehicle and if it s worth taking it in. Been coming here for a few years and figure I should leave a good word for them!Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

The most friendliest gentleman that work there. They really helped me during my lunch shower help me get in and out. I even got a free water bottle. I recommend everybody EXCELLENT customer service

Best smog place ever The service was quick and efficient... price was very good. Nice, clean,cool waiting room and we were given a bottle of water while we were waiting. Customer service was very friendly and helpful!

Have taken two cars to him within the last year or so, & my experience has been great both times. Nadeem is awesome at what he does, and has you in and out in a matter of 15-20 min. max. AND this place is STAR certified.Highly recommend Downtown Smog for any needs you have regarding getting your car smog checked.

Nadeem is really polite and welcoming, service was done within 10 minutes. Interesting collection of furniture, funky smell in the building, but friendly and quick service.

This is the only place to go in the area, if not, in all of SoCal! Always friendly, always quick service, and always a straight talker. Amazing price with amazing service and personnel, you can't ask for more!

Quick, honest and professional would be the 3 best words to describe this place. Arrived at the shop around 2pm and was already on my way by 2:20! I had recommended this place to a few of my buddies and they were amazied on the level of knowledge this place had about getting your car to pass Smog (VERY HELPFUL)! Thank you Down Town Smog for the great service and helping me pass SMOG!!

Place reeked of Marijuana! Lighting was low lit and uninviting. I had an older model car; they said their EVAP wasn't working and referred me to another location. Couldn't be more happy to take my business elsewhere. Very unprofessional.On the plus side, Lambert Smog Station was wonderful. Ray did an excellent job and was very friendly.

Quick, easy, and inexpensive, just how I like my smog tests to go. The interior of the place is a little odd, but wasn't there very long for it to make much of a difference. Would recommend to anyone!
