This was our first time in Bodega Bay and at the Lodge. I had done thorough research beforehand and had high expectations going into our stay. Long story short, our expectations were thoroughly met.We were celebrating my girlfriend's birthday and they courteously welcomed us with a small gift and note, which I thought was a nice gesture. We booked a Pacific Coast Upper and the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We did have some TV trouble on the first night, but the staff was very accommodating and helped us fix the issue right away.We also took advantage of the pool and spa. The area was well maintained, clean and very relaxing. I also booked a spa session for my girlfriend, which she enjoyed. The sauna was a bit difficult to use - I had trouble increasing the temperature. Nevertheless, the pool and spa was comfortable and had a great view of the Bay.The amenities are where the Lodge really stood out for us. We enjoyed complimentary wine tastings at the lobby both afternoons and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We also spent some time at the Fireside Lounge where there was a great folk performer playing and some excellent service.Of course, the property itself was absolutely beautiful and elevated an already great experience.Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing weekend getaway or looking to celebrate a milestone or anniversary. This spot is definitely not cheap, but the excellent service, staff and amenities make the cost well-worth it.I hope to be back sometime in the future.

Beautiful location with views of the bay and Doran beach just up the road from the Lodge. Our room had a fireplace and a patio perfect for sipping coffee while looking at the ocean that was sheltered from the rain. Restaurant was spacious and while the food was pricey, it was delicious! Hoping to take advantage of the spa services on our next trip!Nearby activities: The Lodge had yoga classes and bird watches included with your stay! Doran beach is just down the road a minute or two.Food & drinks: Sit down restaurant on site and a lounge when the restaurant is closed. Meals can be to go or even through room service if staying on property.

I can t say enough good things about The Lodge!! The front desk staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I would honestly come back just to wear the robe in the room again. The comfiest, coziest robe ever, which paired well with the in room fire place. Logs included. Very spacious room and bathroom, and large windows to see the gorgeous view of the water. Serene and relaxing I can t wait to come back!!If it s not too cold, you could walk to the beach in under 10 minutes.I was here for a short trip, mostly just passing through so I didn t get to take advantage of the pool or hot tub, but the views from them weee phenomenal. In the morning you could see the steam rising from the pool on the horizon. Magical!

We were visiting from the Boise area. The lodge at Bodega Bay was a wonderful get-away! The area is beautiful and the service was the best I ve seen. They loaned us games and beach activities, and binoculars for whale watching. They ve included access to everything we might want on our vacation. We loved the pool and the hot tub and the sauna and the robes and slippers and the bikes and the fruit and cheese board and the fireplace in our room! A wonderful and relaxing trip for us! Thanks for all your helpful and accommodating employees.

Stayed here many times over the last 15 years. It's always fantastic. They make us feel so welcome like family. The staff is always friendly and warm. The restaurant is top notch dining, cocktails and wine. Views are breathtaking from the rooms and the property. Lots of places to sir and enjoy. They have an oversized spa behind glass barrier to take in the view of the bay and ocean as well.

The Lodge is situated with one of the most beautiful views of Bodega Bay and the grounds are landscaped with care. The staff are just wonderful ... always ready to assist with whatever one needs. Some reviews make issue with the foghorn (when turned on in season as it was for us) but honestly, you would have to be the lightest of sleepers for it to even be noticeable beyond a calming background tone. Heavy sliding glass room doors and even the sound machine provided mitigate 95%. We hit perfect October weather, sun and blue skies that made sunsets gorgeous. The food at Drake's is very good, especially the local oysters. And the property is full of amenities from a spa, hot tub, bikes to use and more. We hosted a family get together in the "Den" and outside patio and the event contact made everything perfect for the occasion. This place and the surrounding coastal spots like Jenner, the Russian River, dinner at River's End, Occidental (eat breakfast at Howard's Station!), The Grove of Old Trees and surrounding wineries, all easy day drives, are a "true getaway" to relax and refresh.

Can't speak highly enough for this wonderful, restful and beautiful place. It's been a couple of years since we were there but property is still perfectly kept, manicured yet natural environment with fantastic staff and amenities. I went solo for a short sabatical and enjoyed the seclusion, nature walks and of course, the service and food. Drakes is still a wonderful place to enjoy creative dishes and very professional staff/services. 5 stars doesn't say enough for the Lodge!

We booked a night here. When I checked in, I asked if they would give a complimentary upgrade since it was our anniversary but they were booked out. Not long after we settled in our room, one of the staffs knocked our door and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine with a card. What a good hospitality! Our room was spacious and clean. The balcony overlooked a garden with the view of water in the distance. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom looked nice. The swimming pool was nice but it was pretty crowded as there were lots of families using it. The hotel was quiet and good for relaxing vacation. It was a short drive to restaurants around the area.Food & drinks: Restaurants are short drive away to the town

I've stayed at hotels all around the world and would rarely say that I am especially impressed, but The Lodge at Bodega Bay never ceases to amaze. Located right near Doran Beach, the hotel offers close proximity to nature and is the perfect spot for an intimate weekend getaway. The beach is in walkable distance. Wine is served complimentary between 3pm and 4pm and is some of the best that I have been served. The customer service is amazing, and the rooms are spacious. We love that there are fireplafe refills available at the reception. The toiletries in the room are aromatherapy products and smell great. This is our favorite spot for weekend trips in all of California.

We decided to spend the weekend here at the end of our northern California road trip. The reason I am giving 5 stars is because the service was exceptional. The staff at this resort is extremely professional and kind. We heard some noises coming from our fireplace and the front desk relocated us to a new room and gave us a bottle of wine with chocolate. The view from both rooms was so beautiful, The restaurant was delicious, and the pool/hot tub was absolutely amazing.

This is a pricey hotel but, the views and facilities are beautiful. We stayed in a Pacific Coast lower room and our view was wonderful. I would suggest doing the upper level if you can spend a little more. We ate breakfast on site and pricing was aligned with other places in the area and food was good. I will be returning and taking advantage of the spa on site. It's a wonderful place for a quick, relaxing weekend. As a heads up, a number of the restaurants were closed on Monday/Tuesday so if you want more options in town, I would stick to weekend dates.

6/5! Spectacular stay. Resort is nicely sited at the ocean. Have not experienced staff as good as this in a long time. Clean expansive room, romantic fire pits and view from the restaurant and smores in the (real!) fireplace. So accomodating and warm - wish we lived closer. p.s. drive the Highway #1 north for 20 minutes to Goat Head Rock - for the most scenic of all California coasts. Blown away trip!

We visited recently for our 10th wedding anniversary and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Everyone was super nice and helpful. I casually mentioned why we were there at check in and they surprised us with champagne in our room about 30 minutes later which was very unexpected and kind of them. The views are awesome, rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is beautiful. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a top place to stay in the region.

Stayed here on my trip up to the Redwoods and was so pleased with it I cancelled my different plans on the way back to San Francisco so that I could stay here again. Spacious and clean rooms with complementary slippers and cozy robes. Beautiful views from the balconies overlooking the bay. The second stay I received a free, upgraded room that had a DEEP, luxurious bathtub that I soaked in, and a little better view of the bay. They made sure the room was warm since we arrived on a cold evening and had a bottle of wine ready to pour. The restaurant Drakes is good and super convenient as it is less than a minute walk from the rooms - never had to wait for a seat. The restaurant and the lodge also have several fire pits with cushioned seating and pillows to relax and enjoy the view/food (breakfast as well, which was delicious). A gated area surrounds the inviting hot tub and pool which are open until 11 and have towels - overall 10/10.

My husband and I were planning on staying one night at the hotel on our way to Northern California. Two days prior to our stay we were notified that there were fires and evacuations in Humboldt & Del Norte County where we were supposed to be staying. I contacted the hotel two days prior to our stay and explained the situation and asked to cancel our reservations. They said they would but would NOT refund our deposit ($535.00) because you need to call three days before. I asked if they would at least do a parcel refund and they said NO. The hotel was not understanding or sympathetic to our situation. Poor customer service! Beware, if you have extenuating circumstances this hotel will not refund your money or be understanding.

This was one of the most beautiful places I ve stayed at. The views are incredible and the service was great. The room was large ( we stayed in a one bedroom). The shower wasn t a tub & shower combined it was like a shower you d have in a house with nice tiles. They have a nice updated pool, hot tub, gym, & spa. Luxurious stay! Only problem I experienced was that the air conditioning did not work (it was on but I couldn t change it) and the TV wouldn t let me log on or even access the streaming apps, which was a service they offered. But that is no big deal, still a great place!

This is such a special place, if I had more $ I'd be a regular. Even though it's only an hour from our home it feels like a complete vacation. Beautiful views of unspoiled nature, fantastic hot tub, fire pits, nice restaurant/bar, and a wonderfully cozy robe - what could be more perfect on a cool December day. Staff is so friendly and welcoming. We borrowed their fat tire bikes and had a great time riding on the beach just down the road - so fun!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We had an incredible stay here. Our room and the amenities (pool, hot tub, bocce, fire pits) were excellent. The restaurant, Drake's, had great food, wine, and cocktails. Location itself was very convenient to the coast and other points of interest.Above all, what makes this place so great is the staff - they were incredibly attentive and prompt. I remember we called to ask for silverware and there was someone at our door with it in less than 2 minutes. We were stunned! We will surely be back!

I thought this place was absolutely fabulous! From the time we checked in to the time we checked out.Every staff member was helpful, polite & courteous from the receptionist to the groundskeeper.I stayed in room 212 which had a fabulous view overlooking the bay.Everything was clean & well kept, from the rooms to the grounds. Including the Spa, weight room, jacuzzi, sauna, pool & restaurant. To the management and staff of The Lodge at Bodega Bay, congratulations to a job well done.Highly recommended and I would LOVE to come back and stay again.

I chose this resort for my 3 week bike trip for its location on the bay and the distance between Point Arena and San Francisco. Right from the start, I was very impressed by the spacious grounds with the buildings arranged like terraces. The reception was friendly and courteous, I found my apartment quickly. This was very spacious with a wide window front facing the bay, extremely cozy beds and a very comfortable seating area. The property also has a fitness center and swimming pool, which I didn't use. I was particularly pleased with the excellent, rich and freshly prepared breakfast. All this has its price, but the relaxation on the trip is absolutely worth it. I would come back anytime.

Stunning location on cypress studded hill overlooking Bodega Bay marshes and Doran Beach.Beautiful and comfortable rooms with generous decks in separate wood shingled buildings.Refrigerators and coffee makers in each room. Popular restaurant on site.Only downside is no microwaves in rooms (We had an infant with us who needed a bottle heated up).

Rooms were nice but the sundries were unknown brands which didn t have any fragrances at all. Would have been nice if they were name brands that had some nice smell to it. Spa and gym facilities had nice equipment except for the peleton bike had expired subscription thus you couldn t use it. Never seen a big jacuzzi which was infinity like. Pool was heated but was dirty at the bottom thus I changed my mind about taking a dip. Wish they had restaurant service for the pool and jacuzzi. Parking lot is in dire need of resurfacing and restriping since there were old lines that overlapped with the new ones. Facility could use more lighting especially since the there are no lights along the roads in Bodega Bay. Staff were super nice and friendly!
