Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We drove from SF looking for an affordable one night stay out of the city. Bodega Harbor Inn was perfect for just that due to the location and accommodations. The room we stayed in had access to a private hot tub overlooking the bay (shares with 1 other room). It also has private access to the bay with a patio and charcoal grill. The room was clean, minimal with everything you need and quiet. Couldn t hear the road at all. There s a smart TV so you can login to your streaming platforms and watch a movie.Location is perfect, on the water and near all the restaurants and coffee shops. The gas station is a quick walk away to get any extra drinks or snacks. The guests staying next to us, said they ed been coming here every year for over 30+ years. And I get it, it s truly peaceful, quaint and refreshing. We had such a wonderful quick stay here. Will be back!

Let s start with the obvious: I think a 5-star overall review is warranted. But I also thing a 3-star review for the rooms themselves is also appropriate.I have stayed at this place for years now. I stayed in the small rooms with slanted floors and barely enough room to share with your thoughts (though enough room, in one case, to share with a colony of ants that had made it their home). I stayed in the slightly larger rooms, still small, though with a stoop, or for a bit more, a deck and some chairs that look out over the bay. I ve gone from paying not so much to paying double that (case in point: with tax, my room this visit was north of $200). That isn t a complaint. I urge someone to find a place with this sort of location and atmosphere for a lower price. I would wait, but I can cut to the chase: you won t.Over the years, the front desk staff have been uniformly wonderful (even the one person who wore enough Patchouli oil to kill a mid-sized elephant). The location is, again, unbeatable (esp. after a long drive down 101/1). There is a certain charm to the scruffy nature of this place, esp. once you know its history and have taken a gander at the old photos in the lobby. You pull into the gravel lot and instantly feel like you are not staying at a chain or an over-priced boutique where you have to walk around on egg (or abalone) shells. But, again, the rooms reflect the nature of the place itself, if occasionally being more (or less) than just quirky. Internet, since I have stayed here, has always had a mind of its own. Same, too, the heat (or lack thereof, or slooooowly increasing in degrees) of the water flowing from the spigots and nozzles. There are scuffs and dents in the walls. There are also gaps both large and small around the doors (which is a thing to consider in colder months with just a rudimentary baseboard electric heater). Over the years, improvements have been made. Case in point? The interesting lights that now exist over the beds. Another case in point? Better TVs. Again, this is a retrospective review. But there is always coffee (meh) in the room and in the lobby, enough towels, some toiletries, and a comfy bed on which to rest your head. You might have to get creative with plugging in things. But you could do worse. And again, the location and the vibe which are the real draws have not changed. Beautiful location. Great staff (including those doing the housekeeping when you wake up). It is well worth what I used to pay and still worth what I am paying now. I guess I am a sucker for this sort of place and want to support it so that it never closes and leaves me with no place to stay in Bodega Bay. Jenner? You think I want to stay in Jenner? Come on!-------------------------------------------------------[One small sidebar: if you have a complaint about something beyond the place s control, like the neighbors, then you don t debit the place. Common sense. And this is a coastal town not named Mendocino or Bandon. You are going to get some townie types doing what they do; after all, they live here and you are just visiting. So, go easy on the inn (which makes me laugh, as I don t consider the Bodega Harbor Inn an inn, even if they do provide amenities that many places of this sort don t even consider offering).]

This place is awesome. George runs this place and works the front counter. Proves are good runs are clean and consistent. Walking distance to restaurants and Lottie grocery store and south shack. The lawn area is lined with Adirondack chairs that overlook the bay. This last time I was there the weather was clear and calm and the bay was unusually calm. This is a bit rare for Bodega so this was very nice. Perfect weather for hiking around the heads and from the hills behind Bodega I bushwhacked up the tallest hill I could see. From up there there was a beautiful clear view of Bodega Bay, Tomales Bay, and you could also see Point Reyes. Check out the panoramic photo.

The fog horns and marine lifecould be heard off in the distance as the fog covered the town. Nice, quiet, the nearby store wasopen until 8pm.Wonderful place to drive or walk to many stores, restaurants, gift stores. The artists have their merchandiseat different shops. Some held classesto share with anyoneinterested. The Farmers market hada variety of foods, textiles & items to taste, buy, and places to sit, eat, relax and enjoy the music. Local chickens laid eggs.Colorful, double yolks 1 doz./$12.

Cozy small but very clean rooms with peaceful outdoor seating areas to read and have a nice glass of wine. Check in was easy and the host was very friendly and helpful with recommendations for local beaches. Babe the welcome dog was the highlight of my check in experience. The inn was walking distances to several restaurants (get the clam chowder at Boat House) and markets for quick bites (I got canned wine and charcuterie at Diekmann s Market. Great spot for a weekend getaway like mine.Nearby activities: Short drive to many great beaches (my favorites were Salmon Creek and Goat Rock beaches). Great to watch the sunsets

The rooms are comfortable byt quite small. The windows need screens because that's the only way to cool the room.It was a bit noisy on one of our nights, with the neighbors, (not in customers), having drunk karaoke night.

Steve was awesome! We stayed in the handicap room, {9} it was small but cozy. Also want folks to know it is not wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp but you would not be able to navigate a wheelchair in the room. The Harbor Inn is a great location and the chairs looking at the view were definitely a highlight! The cleaning staff was also very friendly.

Cute little mom & pop motel with an old time seaside motor inn vibe. We stayed in a tiny room that was no-frills but spotlessly clean. The room decor is beachy and unique. Clearly this place is maintained with caring. We arrived late due to an unexpected road closure, but the manager came and opened up the office for us so that we could check in. He was very nice and gave us really interesting information about the history of this cute little village. We would

This Inn pre dates WWII and you can rent a room or a house or half a house on the premises. The owner George and his staff are all very friendly and customer service has always been good. This is an annual trip for our group and the owner has been making major remodel updates to the house and rooms including updates designed to improve handicap accessibility. Yes the floors are tile in rooms and uneven as a reviewer noted, but not a surprise for the age of the buildings. Even the house floors (vinyl plank) have some slope. Its very clean, and our room had a mini fridge & Table and chairs. The heaters work well and the water heater is great - price point is a good deal for the location and more improvements are scheduled. Some rooms have a deck. It has old school charm, is close to good dining & has a grocery/deli next door. It s quiet at night, and I never hear the foghorn inside the rooms or house.

Amazing place! I have stayed here twice and every time is wonderful. Was in the area over Memorial Day weekend and told everything was sold out. 10 mins later George calls back with a cancellation. George is an a great host as well. Thank you so much.

The rooms are clean, comfortable and also quite small. But that was not unexpected. The views are amazingly beautiful and the inn is close to loads of great food, shops, and of course scenery. Will note the fridge in our room was tiny, far smaller than most mini fridges. Had trouble putting anything inside, so plan for that. But it was a nice place with a good feel, central to most everything one would want to do.

My dad and I spent Christmas here. We loved this place. It might be a little rustic and our room may have been a little bit crooked but we had so much fun. The owners of this property are amazing. And we had the best time. It's in basically throwing Stone distance to everything and you get the "birds" experience. This will be a place that we return to. Thank you so much for hosting us over Christmas and letting us have our dogs!

We stayed at the Bodega Harbor Inn for our first trip to Bodega with our young family. We have 3 young kids and we were a little anxious to do two night overnight trip. We loved the Bodega Harbor Inn so much! The location was incredible and central to so many activities in Bodega. The adirondack chairs on the lawn were a hit with our kids and the beds were comfortable! We rented a two bedroom and it was perfect. We had a mini kitchen as well which was great for keeping baby milk and snacks. The only thing I would say is that the street adjacent to the Inn is busy so bring ear plugs. Enjoy!

Situated on a hill with an overlook of the harbor. No more than a five minute drive from anything of interest in the area; right off Highway 1. This is not a Westin, so set expectations accordingly. Rooms are clean and basic - shower and bathroom was recently redone. Great hot water heater. This is a motor lodge kind of place, with your car parking literally in front of the room door. Didn t hear a thing all night. Some reviews mention the foghorn noise, which sounds off about once every 7 seconds. I could hear it outside the room, faintly, but not inside. Front desk service was excellent, quickly accommodating a few requests that we had.

No blankets. It was a cold evening and I saw how to turn on the heater the next day. The door of the armoire didn't open all the way due to lack of space. The TV had only 1 channel in Spanish. Breakfast not included. The floor is tilted, probably the bungalow is sliding down the hill, so walking in the room was a bit of a challenge. Otherwise, the water was hot, the WiFi strong, and certainly in the summer it could be quite charming.

The room was $230. It advertised a view but the bay was really far away, and from a small side window and had power lines from a busy street so very unimpressive. I wish I could attach pictures to show you how dirty, dated and in disprepair this place was. Even the toilet paper holder was broken. They only had flavored coffee mate which is gross. But that s not all. Although I informed the front desk, there was no internet connection the entire time. That s so unacceptable for a hote these days. My kids were so upset and it made planning our trip a big pain. I can t believe what businesses get away with just because they are in a touristy area. There goes $230 down the tubes. I am glad we only stayed one night. I will never go back there.
