my car broke down in Mammoth and I was looking for a shop in the area that would help with a Subaru transmission. Nicole took my call and was able to provide helpful assistance and guidance over the phone, without even seeing my car! She was really knowledgeable and helpful during a very stressful situation.

I needed to get a smog check done on a newly purchased car which had been sitting for over a year. New battery and reset computer makes it hard to smog without driving in a certain prescribed manner.Nicole was extremely helpful telling me to come by and they'll run a check of the codes. Found 2 codes needing attention. I did the driving as she outlined. Came back and the car passed the first time.Robert was very professional and helpful.I highly recommend this business.

Had the check engine light pop up on my Subaru and while they didn't have enough time in their schedule to work on my car, they helped me do a brief assessment based on the error codes my car presented and it's behavior to help me determine if I needed to get the car towed to another shop or if it'd be fine to drive it over to another one. Even though I wasn't going to be a customer, they spent 20-30 minutes with me just to help out. This shop is run by great people and I would definitely bring my car to them in the future.

Best Mechanic in BishopHe checks everything and I mean everything!Been my go to guy since he opened. Super smart, friendly and informative. Fixed everything on my 2005 Chevy Malibu, then I took it on a 3500 mile road trip, 18 days, not one thing went wrong with the car. He s great and his wife is as sweet as can be. These folks are awesome. There we were, stranded in Bishop and every mechanic in town was booked up and couldn't fix my van. Even though they had a full schedule for the day Shorty's took the time to diagnose the problem and get me back on the road. They were a real life-saver since there is no nearby town where I could find a mechanic. Very professional, understanding, and helpful. I needed my front brake pads and rotors replaced and they got me a quote and a date for repair within a week. They even gave me a call once I had dropped off my car letting me know that they had a customer with an emergency so my repair may be a bit delayed. Once I picked up my vehicle, Robert pointed out a few minor things that will likely need replacement down the line. I appreciate a mechanic who not only is prompt, but communicates with me about my vehicles needs. My truck is my livelihood, so having someone who is keeping an eye out for things before they become a major problem is a huge bonus.Service: Brakes

My car broke down on a recent trip. Shorty's was willing to take my vehicle and run diagnostics as well as hold the car until my vacation was complete. He was honest and fair and very personable. They did a great job.

Broke down coming into town and couldn't find a shop that would even look at my car for about a week. Explained my situation when I called Shorty's and the owner immediately drove out to my car to try to see what was up with it. Turns out my alternator seized but the shop was able to find a replacement for my early 2000's Outback within about a week. The owners know Subarus and and my car is running great!

Shorty s got me in quickly, performed a full inspection with my oil change, and helped me easily understand priorities for upcoming maintenance needed on my car so that I won t be caught off guard when the time comes.
