I would drive near and far to use Bishop Radiator & Auto Repair for my car repair needs. The mechanic, Jose, goes above and beyond to support his customers, clearly communicates all aspects of the repair process, is flexible to work with, and even offered his time to help answer my questions after I picked up my car. I wholeheartedly trust him and the quality of his work. If you're in need of car repair anywhere on the 395, I strongly recommend towing/driving to Bishop to work with Jose; he's the best of the best.

Jose is a good man and a great mechanic. He helped me get back on the road quickly when I needed it the most after my radiator cracked. Can t say enough good things, highly recommend his service!

Awesome awesome awesome! We were on a trip hauling the trailer with our two small kids when we blew a radiator hose T fitting. Called a bunch of places who were too busy. Someone told me to call Jose. He found the problem, repaired it, and got us back on the road in less than two hours and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. Definitely saved our trip from disaster. I wish he was my local mechanic!

Radiator cracked in my truck on 4th of July weekend. Bishop Radiator were the only company to answer the phone on a Sunday night. They replaced the radiator for a great price had me fixed and on the road my Monday 11am.

Jose is an expert at what he does and a super nice guy too! He saved the whole weekend for us by spotting and fixing the issue with the radiator. We were on our way into the mountains and would ve had to cancel the whole thing without the quick repair this shop provided. Leave him a big tip because he deserves it.

The radiator of my 2005 Sienna started leaking after a tough uphill drive on Tioga Rd and it had to be completely replaced. I got the car towed from Lee Vining to Bishop and Jose fixed my car while I was back in the Bay. He called me and texted me to give me updates which I greatly appreciated. The car looked great when I went to go pick it up and he charged a very reasonable price. I was able to drive it back to the bay with no issues. Again, this place is awesome and if you ever need help with your car, Jose is your man!

Great place to bring your car!!! My daughters car broke down while on vacation. We had to have it towed off the mountain on a Sunday and had no idea where to go. The tow truck driver said this is the place to go and Jose is probably working on Sunday, he was.Fair price and great work.

We thank Jose very much for his help during our vacation over Memorial weekend when we were stuck with a radiator problem, that apparently also damaged the engine due to overheating.On late Sunday afternoon, when everywhere else was closed, Jose took the time to inspect our towed vehicle and explained us that engine is damaged and we should not spend money fixing the radiator.As we were under a lot of confusion and stress of being stranded, he stayed late at his shop for us, calmly explained to us the problem and arranged a friend to take us to our hotel and let our car sit on his parking lot until we figure things out.

Jose is the best. My truck blew a radiator on Sherwin Grade and when I called him he said he could fix it if I got it there by 3pm. When I arrived at 330 he still did it even though I believe his wife wanted him home soon. He was awesome and an honest man. Glad to have come across him and he had me back on the road in a short time. He had a radiator in stock for my old truck, unlike the Ford dealer in town who I shouldn t have called in the first place. This is the place to go if you have any radiator issues. I would highly recommend Bishop Radiator.

My 19 year old son was coming home from a solo backpacking trip when his car started overheating. Fortunately he was close to Bishop and Bishop Radiator came highly recommended from the first shop he stopped at but they were too busy to get him for a couple of days. My son arrived at Bishop Radiator where Jose helped him immediately. My son said that the entire time that Jose was working on his car he would explain what he was doing and made sure my son understood. Jose not only fixed my son's radiator problem but looked around to make sure there weren't any other problems and fixed a few other small issues. As my son was leaving Jose asked him to call him in about an hour and half to make sure his car wasn't overheating. Jose said he wanted my son to call because then he would have "peace of mind." You would have thought he was sending his own child off. Gosh! As a mom of a kid stranded 4 hours from home you wouldn't want them in better hands! My husband and I said that if our cars need work and can make it the 4 hours to Bishop to see Jose we'd consider making the trip because you just don't find honest, skilled, professional, conscientious and FAIR PRICED mechanics like Jose very much these days.

Jose was very accommodating when the radiator fins on our motor home s diesel engine needed cleaning. We scheduled an appointment and he promptly met us when we arrived and explained the work he would do, all without removing the radiator. Ninety minutes later he had completely steam cleaned the radiator fins from the back, the front, and from underneath. Afterwards the air circulation through the radiator had improved tremendously, and now when traveling long uphill grades, the engine temperature gauge stays below the half-way mark. Such an improvement! Kudos to Jose @ Bishop Radiator!

Local to Bishop. I take all of my oil change and radiator business to Jose who is fair, personable, reasonable, and honest. Lucky to have him in this small town.

Jose is amazing! He went above and beyond to help us when our car overheated passing through town. He quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it within an hour, took it for a test drive and told us to call if we had any problems. Very trustworthy mechanic. Highly recommend!

We hit a mystery animal about 10 mi s of bishop and waterfall of engine coolant began leaving car. Limped back up to Bishop and called Bishop Radiator the next morning (Saturday). Accidentally woke Jose up, but he agreed (in spite of the fact that he had gotten teeth pulled the night before!) to meet us at his shop and check it out. Unfortunately, we were unable to find the correct part in town, but we had a friend's car and were able to drive north and pick it up. Jose agreed to come in on Sunday morning (before church!) to install the new radiator so we could make it home. Thanks, Jose! You're the man. We did not deserve to take so much of your weekend, but you were so gracious as to help us out. I learned so much about the repair from you and I appreciate your honesty, reasonable pricing, and good humor.

I was visiting Bishop for the first time this oast weekend. My boyfriend and I met Jose, the owner, by chance on Saturday. My car overheated on our way to hike the Bristlecone Pine forest trails. He saw us struggling to figure out what was wrong with my car and did not hesitate to walk over and help us. He determined my radiator was the problem and temporarily fixed it...all while we were almost at the top of the mountain! Sunday morning i stopped by his shop to fix everything and was able to drive safely home to San Diego. His generosity was beyond amazing. Like I mentioned to him, I felt truly blessed to have run into him and am truly grateful for his help and great work.

I d like to commend Jose and his workmanship. He helped me in my time on need to get me back on the road while on vacation. He took the time while he was in Northern California to arrange service for me and my family! My radiator failed completely coming over the pass. I arrived at the shop at 430. Jose was willing to stay late and replace my radiator. Same price as regular hours. Nice guy speedy service.

I had a car breakdown , my car overheated & the Owner convince me right away its considered a JUNK. He told me to send him the car registration paper & mark it as Junk. Towing it back home is not a good idea because of distance & not covered by my insurance anymore. I trusted him to leave my car in his hand & assume he can have the payment from the junk company in return if his good deed.Now i receive a Metro express violation that my car was in LA area overspeeding & not paying toll road. Was shock that Bishop radiator convince me its a JUNK but my car is running now without my knowledge. Be careful Folks leaving your car in their hands.i wish he paid taxes for selling my Car.

Very helpful. My car overheated on the way to Mammoth, but I was able to nurse it down the grade to get to Bishop Radiator and Auto Repair. The mechanic was home with an ailing back, but he still came in on a Sunday morning to help us. Thankfully, he quickly diagnosed our problem, fixed it, and got us back on the road. Thank you!

Thank you Jose! My fiance and I noticed our radiator was leaking during our long trip. We were passing by and decided to stop at an auto store where we were given jose number and he very nicely took us into his shop. Before we knew it our radiator was fixed and we were back on the road. Thank you Jose

My car broke down around 4 pm near Lee Vining, called Jose at Bishop Radiator and he agreed to look at my car first thing the next morning. Came in at 8 even though he was sick and had me fixed and out of town by 10:45. Nice guy and great service.

Car broke down: overheating . Jose worked on it right away on overtime and it was ready the next day. He charges very reasonable prices and is really there to get you back on the road. He is very friendly and super knowledgeable.

Very quick and professional. Jose is the best. I live in OC and was visiting creekside RV. My radiator busted. He fixed it on a Sunday. Father's day no less. Very happy with their service!!

Stopped in after my crummy plastic-topped radiator cracked and this guy hooked me up with an all metal radiator installed for a reasonable price. The owner is super nice and is totally open with what he is doing, no shady business or price gouging going on here; just good honest work. I highly recommend this place for anyone who might run into radiator problems.

Fantastic service, took a call on Sunday while he was off, offered troubleshooting, ended up coming in to help us out with alternator issue. We were on a road trip so we greatly appriciated Jose's help. Reasonably priced and uncommon service, highly recommended.

Really amazing service! I was in Bishop from out of town, and my radiator went out. They opened on the 4th of July to help me out and get it repaired so I could get back home to Utah. I was so impressed with how helpful they were, how well they explained everything to me, and what a great job they did. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Fixed two different car problem on two different days ( radiator and alternator) THOSE DAYS WERE SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. Charge me decently.=} What you should know about the guy:He doesn't joke about mask during the quarantine.When he says I ll help you, it mean try to fix the problem but also will you his address book to make sure to find a guy to fix your problem.The only cons is that he doesn t have a car elevator (sorry don t know the name of it) so if he can fix it he will send you to one of he s friend.He honestIf I had another problem around bishop that is the first person I would go to.Hope that helps

Was the best service I have ever gotten with dealing with any car service before. Stayed later than his usual hours to look at my car as well as work on my car during Christmas Eve. If you re not from town and need help. Go here!
