I had a couple great experiences. Everyone was so friendly on the phone and on site to help me with my tire issues. Happy to have a reliable and trustworthy place in Big Bear to go to.

Halfway up the mountain on our drive from Joshua Tree to Big Bear, the car indicated the engine was at a high temperature and we needed to pull over for safety. Very quickly we realized we had a massive coolant leak and had to get a tow.Big Bear Auto popped up with a quick search as a highly rated auto shop. Unfortunately it was Sunday so we couldn't call to check if they had room in their yard or if there was a huge backlog of cars to be serviced ahead of us. Nothing to fear, the tow arrived at the shop and there was plenty of space. They have a voicemail to call into after hours and also accept texts.On Monday, we received a call from Tristan as soon as the shop opened and he got the ball rolling with a timeline of what he would be checking and how long it might take plus the pricing. He was amazing in giving us a call every step of the way as he performed his diagnostic and repairs. After two days, the car had a new coolant tank and water pump and he was happy to show the old parts and explain what had happened. As we let him know in the very first conversation that we were from out of town and would be driving straight back home to the Bay Area as soon as we got the car back, he also made sure to test the car and engine thoroughly.Great service. Prompt service. Fair pricing.

I was on vacation and needed some codes read. Travis was fabulous. So knowledgeable and explained everything to me about what was going on. He let me take pictures of the codes and was so professional. They seem very reliable and ho est. Would highly recommend!

Tristan ( I hope I am spelling that correctly) is awesome!! He fixed a problem I've had that no other shop was able to figure out. This guy is legit the best. My car is now working beautifully thanks to this guy.

Professional, fair, honest and quick!As an out of towner with some concerns before the long road trip home, the team at Big Bear Auto Repair and Tire took great care of me. They even fit me in on the 4th of july. They diagnosed the problem, gave fair recommendations, and were great to work with.

We had a tire that was low and stopped at the 7-Eleven down the road. Unfortunately the air compressor was not working. We drove a little further down to this auto repair shop and the guys were happy to fill up the tire. We tried to tip them and they refused. But as we were driving away, they hollered out after us. We were leaking fuel all over their parking lot. Danny Wheeler and his crew pulled us into the shop right then and there and were able to fix us and get us back on the road in no time. They were kind compassionate and professional. Highly highly highly recommend.

These guys know how to fix a German car. My Mini sat for over 2 years while no one on the mountain could fix it. Then I found Big Bear Auto and Tires. John knew exactly what to do.

Outstanding service and so helpful. Danny was busy, but dropped what he was doing to conduct a quick tire inspection and remove a nail today. Wouldn't take any money for the help either. Thanks for the assistance. I would recommend this business.

We were visiting from Phoenix and had problems with our Jeep not starting. The dash was reading several trouble issues and we luckily found this mechanic shop and towed our vehicle there. The owner Danny was gracious in squeezing us in his busy schedule and was able to get us back on the road the next day. We greatly appreciate him and his crew, including his wife Winter; they were all very nice and helpful!

We needed to replace the tires on our car rented in Palm Springs with rear tires worn down to the metal. Driving in the mountains, we were fearful of driving too quickly around curves. Danny Wheeler worked to get new tires into his store by the next day! Within 24 hours we were outfitted with new reasonably priced tires, with the other 2 inflated properly. We were treated efficiently with kindness and concern. I would highly recommend Big Bear Auto for all of your car s needs. I felt lucky to have landed in good hands.

Had a bit of car trouble on a weekend trip to Big Bear and needed a quick fix! The staff at Big Bear Auto Repair and Tires were so nice and happily helped us out. They were very generous with their time and helped fix my car so it was drivable for the rest of the trip. Thank you so much! Would recommend!

Extremely good service, upfront and honest pricing. Danny and his staff went above and beyond to ensure my BMW s secondary air system was running correctly. Even weeks after the initial repair, they continued to check the monitors for me, at no charge, to make sure I was able to get my vehicle smogged. I would give 6 stars if it were an option, these are the guys you want working on your vehicle in Big Bear.

Got my car checked out after all my warning lights came on. They kept to their hours even on MLK day. They charged by the half hour to check out the car and gave me good advice.

Took my STi in for overheating. They didn't have the ability to fix my car correctly, but Danny took the time to locate an A+ Subaru repair. Didn't charge me for any unnecessary tests or repairs.

Vacationed in Big Bear Lake area for a week. Arrived on Sunday. On Tuesday the Low Air Pressure indicator shows on my dash board. We stopped at Big Bear Auto & Truck Repair, explained the situation, thinking that one of our tires had a slow leak. After a very short wait, technicians performed a visual check of the tire, then checked the pressure on all four tires and saw that they were all near 35 PSI. No charge. They suggested that we drive around for a few hours and come back to re-check. We did. Same pressure all around. They suggested the Low Air Pressure sensor may be faulty. No Charge. They suggested that we stop by on Saturday before heading down the mountain going home. We did. Same situation. I offered, to a gentleman that I believe was the owner, to tip the technicians for how responsive they were with great customer service attitudes. He declined, saying, It s our pleasure . I kind of forced the tip/token on him, and I saw him distribute among the team. We received peace of mind, got home safely, and will address the sensor issue here. Great place. Great experience.

Battery died during our time in big bear. They were able to put in a new battery in about an hour. Service was good and quick but they charged $85 more for the battery then what they were selling down the street at Napa. I was happy with their service.

I needed a new local mechanic and I really lucked out! Danny has been great to work with, friendly, professional and on-point. Besides quality service, they stick to quotes and even passed on savings to me, for a part sourced for less $!! He replaced a faulty shock in my '97 Isuzu, but also repaired my Mini Cooper (BMW), which had been at another local shop for weeks without a diagnosis. Great experiences, thank you so much. I will return and refer often!

We came in for a nail in our tire while visiting Big Bear. These guys took care of us without hesitation and got us back on the road in minutes! Friendly service and honest fair pricing! So glad we stopped there and were able to get tire fixed!

I was visiting from San Diego and had a brake system failure in my truck. I had to leave the car for a week and rent a car to get home, then Uber back. It sounds miserable but not when you are working with Big Bear Auto. The mechanic(s) sorted out the truck's brake system. As a result, it drives better than before. Mechanic (s) is a pro. This is who I trust for basic maintenance as well as big stuff like struts, brakes and timing belts. They make me feel safe when I pull my trailer because they installed my brake controller and other helpful add-ons. They are always willing to give me a quote ahead of time so I know what to expect. I appreciate when they are honest if some repair "can wait".

Got stuck with a car that wouldn't start while camping on vacation. Roadside assistance towed my car to Big Bear Auto and though they were swamped that morning, they checked my car thoroughly to diagnose the problem and then quickly took care of it! The owner and his crew were very courteous, honest, and professional. Would not hesitate to use them again!

Truck broke down on me while coming up to Big Bear over labor day weekend. Had it towed to this shop and on a whim because everyone was already closed for the holiday. Spoke with Danny on Tuesday where he layed out a plan for me. After diagnosing the problem later that day, he informed me that my fuel pump had gone out. Fuel pump on my jeep is inside the tank so would be labor intensive plus he would need to order the pump. Yikes! After getting over the cost of repairs, I realized that the cost was fair plus Danny got my truck done by Thursday afternoon. I highly recommend this place!

These guys are straight shooters. I have dropped off my truck after several other shops could not figure out the trailer brake warning and these guys found it was a fuse in 20 minutes; from fabricated tractor parts to major service and diagnostic I trust this shop with my wallet and my keys any day. Best service on the mountain no doubt these guys are automotive rock stars!

My daughter's BMW would not start. They quickly root caused issue. Turned out to be a fuel pump that only needed to be reset. The technician provided a detailed explanation of why it happened and what to do if happens again in the future. Great work.

We were visitng and got a nail in our tire. We pulled up and were greeted right away. They took care of patching our tire very quickly and even let us use an umbrella to get back to our car when a thunderstorm popped up suddenly and brought down the rain.The waiting room was clean and pleasant as well as the bathroom. We vacation here regularly and this is where we will be coming back should future repairs come up.

Came here today to get my tires checked. Sensors kept going off. The guy that helped us was really friendly and honest. Made us feel comfortable and like we were family. Got us in and out in minutes. I defetnetly recommend this place.

We came in with our Volvo and wanted to get our engine coolant filled. They tried to charge us 50$ and broke our car they said they would have to take apart our engine and they ended up breaking the clip to close our hood. Definitely would not recommend ever coming there. They tried to rip us off and broke our car. They were very hostile towards us for asking for hot coco, which tasted terrible. If you have any car troubles pleas don t go here and let them destroy your car.
