I rode down from Los Angeles and I broke down with my motorcycle getting stuck in Big Bear, Every motorcycle shop was closed and even though it's a hot rod shop Jim was able to custom modify me a clutch cable from a 1982 goldwing and was then to retrofit it to my Honda shadow so I could back on my way. Thanks to Jim and his wife for being so kind to offer me help.

My experience at Conklin Hot Rods was definitely rewarding. The owner Jim Conklin told me he would fix the dent in my passenger rear and he did a professional job and had it done promptly. I was very pleased with the service as well as the moral character I saw being reflected through the owner and thus the business in general. :)

Super professional car guys. Whether it's a little thing or a complicated rebuild, you can count on Conklin's.They found a solution to a large brake problem with my van. And did a rebuild on a rusted out part. Serious work, done with honestly, decency, and a little humor. Took my sons truck here for some body work. Not only was the quote reasonable, but they got it done on schedule and the quality of work was flawless.That same truck has some new damage (young drivers... ughhh), and of course we're taking it back to Conklin!

The experience was fine until I expected the owner, Jim, to follow through on his word. Over months he's continually jerked me around to screw me out of money and has continually strung me along on the promise that "it will get taken care of next week". On top of that, half of the time that I call, his receptionist won't even let me speak with him. I just want to wash my hands of this experience so I can go elsewhere next time.

I had my car fixed just to only end up almost killing myself due to the accident that happened due to his repairs, when i called jim he said he would fix the car again, if i paid for the tow from san diego where i was just a day after i got my car fixed by him. I met one of the mechanics years later who joked about what they did to my car and then i told him that was my car that they did that to and he stopped laughing real quick. He then cried and said he was sorry.

If you value anything on your vehicle do not send it to Conklin Hot Rods, when I got my PWC back it was missing expensive parts. I have asked several times for my parts, he refused saying he knew nothing about them. When I got my PWC home from his shop, took off the cover tarp he had on it, saw the missing parts & called him right away. This was about 20 minutes after leaving his shop.I have complained to BBB where his reply was he worked on my PWC but refuses to take responsibility for the missing parts. But on the Consumer site he states he knows nothing about it and didnt work on my PWC. This proves he does not tell truths.Plus he has his friend go around where I leave a review stating what a great place this is, great employess. They are game players to say the least.

Do not use Conklin Hot Rods took my watercraft to have him remove my motor. He removed more than my motor! Have not seen my stolen parts since.
