A true gem! Chris and Alex were amazing. From the beginning of our service to the end, the environment was super friendly and welcoming. All service details were explained in complete detail and in a timely manner. The attention to detail and customer focus on service details, has hands down made the decision to have GAS become our premium service shop an easy one! This shop operates with integrity, customer service as the primary focus and that shows from Chris all the way through whole team. With the detailed inspection from GAS I was able to take that back to my dealership and utilize our warranty to have some repairs covered at no cost to us. Trust me you will not be disappointed!

Been coming here for a few years now and always know my cars are being well taken care of. Their thorough inspections also gave me great peace of mind before I purchase my two current vehicles. Chris and Alex are very friendly and transparent. Highly recommend taking your German vehicles here!

Crooks! Charge twice the amount of anyone else in the area. More than the dealer. They break other things while making repairs so you have to come back at pay another 2k. Terrible people pretending to be nice guys.I am a nurse and a trusting person. They had good reviews so I had my car towed to their shop. I was told it cost $2600 to replace an alternator for a mini and they advised that if I fix it, it should run for another year or two. I have done all the repairs, 100k maintenance and had the oil changed a week prior with no issues. As soon as I drove the car home it started to smell and eventually smoke. I called and left a VM and when I brought it in they diagnosed it with another issue costing $2100. I spoke with three different mechanics and all three were shocked at how much they charged for the alternator. Over 1k+ then any other place. Their bill isn t itemized with hours just $1580 for labor. The other mechanic shows that the cap on alternators is 3.2hrs but they said they charge $225 but decided to charge me $258 for 5.8hr which still doesn t equate to the total shady!!Currently having the new issue that WAS NOT there prior fixed for less then HALF of what they quoted when they are the ones responsible for causing the problem that was nonexistent before I brought it in. It s been a horrendous week.Trying to charge me an extra $225 for diagnosing the new problem (that they caused). The 3 mechanics I spoke to said what they are doing is illegal! I will be following up with the owner and holding them accountable. Just because I m a trusting girl doesn t mean you get to take advantage of me. Shame on you!

Justin assisted with repairs on an older BMW with high mileage. Though spending money on car repairs is never fun, Justin and the team at German Auto Sport had great communication and provided a thorough breakdown of what the car needed and why. The use of technology with pictures further made me feel confident that all recommendations were warranted and I wasn t being gouged for money. I own 2 BMWs and besides the dealership this is the only establishment I would feel comfortable taking my vehicle to.

Really impressed with their skill, attention to detail, transparency, responsiveness, and web acumen. They showed me the parts that they replaced, without me having to ask.They use an online service to provide interactive quotes that let us pick and choose which services we want -- no more old-school triplicate forms from the 1950s.Nice waiting area, convenient location. My new garage!

Very odd experience.Pros: super easy to book online; and I like that they provide free lyfts/ubersCons: had a family friend (who is also a master technician) review the diagnosis and ask followup questions. When our friend called, Chris wouldn't have a discussion and then refused to continue working on our car. This family friend is from out of town and was our way of trying to assess what was mandatory since we really didn't want to drop $4k.So not sure what happened here, but figured I'd flag the facts for others for them to make their own decision.No hard feelings; left more confused than anything else...Edit after owner's response: I didn't ask to replace a single spark plug; that would only be part of the diagnosis (and not recommended by me, but by another master technician). The owner wouldn't explain his diagnostic approach to our family friend; and wouldn't even have a conversation. For me, this eliminated any trust so we didn't want to move forward.Finally, we were able to go elsewhere, get the car fixed, and it was <50% the price quoted by GAS.Again, I'm only highlighting the facts and am not trying to launch a personal attack. I'd encourage folks reading the reviews to see how the owner responds to customers who have a poor experience with German Auto Sport. I wish I had done that before taking my car in.

Had my cayenne serviced at German Auto Sport recently. Had an amazing experience. Chris and the crew are top notch. From diagnosis to repair I was kept up to date with all info and pricing. They really go the extra mile to make customers happy. Would 100% recommend them to anyone.

Everyone at German Auto sport is so kind and helpful and patient! I've had the absolutely best experience here! I always feel that they go above and beyond and go out of their way to explain the situation and give me the best service possible. They are so patient when explaining complicated mechanical stuff to me and I really appreciate that! I had a problem with my car key/remote. Alex instructed me on how to use the blade on my remote. This would open my car door. I had a problem getting it to work, so Alex said I can come to the shop and he will help me. I also asked him to check my oil level. They did and in fact, they changed my oil without making an appointment. I appreciate their great customer service.

Very impressive experience from start to finish. A few months back, I was given an astronomical quote and a great deal of pressure at the BMW dealership in Berkeley. I did some research, and when my dash light came on, I came here. Not only was the cost significantly less, I actually felt more confident in the work being done. The team was transparent, gracious, and not once pushy. It s clear this is their passion, and it shows.

The most professional mechanics that I ve worked with. This shop is a little pricey, but they have excellent customer service and are experts at repairs.During inspection, they take clear photos showing the problem, give you digestible descriptions of the issues, and are happy to answer questions. While my car was in the shop they gave clear and fast communication about status and new issues; and all of the issues I came in with have been resolved.Thanks guys!

I have recently purchased a BMW and have had to get multiple repairs and German Auto Sport is who you want to trust with your german car. They know what they are talking about and share pictures of what is wrong with your car and what is the best procedure to go on from there. Even with big repairs, they are the quickest and efficient at fixing your vehicle and getting you back on the road to enjoy your car. 10/10 would recommend and would always take my car here for anything that goes wrong with my car. I m so happy I found German auto sport!When they did the first overhaul inspection of my car, they found several big problems that they recommended I try to get fixed under an extended warranty with my dealership. I didn t even know I still had any warranty. So I took my car in with the meticulous paperwork and pictures from German auto spot and my dealership got on it like I ve never witnessed before. They fixed almost everything ! GAS saved me so much money. I have so much gratitude for this place and I m so happy to have an auto shop that I feel confident going to.Thank you so much!Katrina

This team is the definition of integrity and you can tell they love what they do. From the start, they took the time to explain in great detail what the issues were, the procedures, the pros and cons, etc. They did not rush us or pressure us at any time to make a decision, and provided excellent service and communication the entire time. We felt extremely well taken care of and will be back for regular maintenance. Thank you, German Auto Sport, for getting us back on the road!

It was my first time taking my car for service to German Auto Sport. I typically take my car to the Dealer for service but recently heard a loud noise while parking after a 50 minute freeway drive. The team at German Auto Sport was friendly, professional, punctual, and did a very thorough inspection and service on my vehicle. Seeing the pictures take during the service and having their mechanics take the time to explain the results makes a world of difference. Most importantly, their work put my mind at ease and at a very reasonable price. Will I take my car there again? I recently got a gently used but poorly maintained 2005 Boxster and I was looking for a shop who could competently go through everything and get the car into top shape. Jonathan and the guys at GAS were exactly the gear heads I was looking for. Beyond experienced with these cars, patient and very sensible. They understood my concerns and made sure I got the car back in the shape I was hoping. I'm thrilled with the state of the car now... it feels new! I was really looking forward to taking my car to this shop. I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and to diagnose a rattling noise coming from the passenger rear wheel area. Upon pickup I paid and was handed the keys with no explanation of the rattling until I asked. Chris mentioned it was the gas tank moving around so they shimmed it with some rubber to tighten it up and the noise had mostly gone away. I confirmed with him that it was nothing suspension related and I was safe to drive. Driving the car away the noise was exactly the same. I called twice asking to speak to Chris but was never able to get ahold of him or receive a call back. I emailed and never received a response. I was also told I would get a digital inspection report via text but never received that. Over the weekend I jacked up the car and crawled under it and could clearly see the rear trailing arm bushing was failing and when rocking the wheel it made the exact noise. Just a bummer all around. Two stars for what likely is a successful oil change.

Been coming here since i had my mini and i always valued the customer service and skill craft, but this last time will be my last time; my Mini left worse then it came in with. Dropped Mini off at 8:30 on Friday for a diagnosis for a engine reduction, was recommended a engine flush and oil change, thats good but i couldn't get my car until tuesday, on top of the flush my rear left brake lamp was out and they changed the bulb but it didnt work, took it back in the following wednesday because i was having battery issues i never had before and the brake lamp was still out, i communicated that my battery was drained by the shop and not my own doing and was quoted for a new battery with labor, Since its not my fault i would expect at the labor to be waived and i just pay for the battery but that wasn't a option, and now instead of a broken brake lamp, my WHOLE lamp is out , im aware fixing minis arent cheap but i expect accountability from a shop that charges $200 for labor on a battery replacement and replace the socket back in tail lamp so it can be how it was when I came. But I do thank them for the hospitable attitude.Service: General repairs & maintenance

An absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end. They fully inspected my car and gave me honest details on what we need to do now, soon, and in the future. I really appreciated being walked through everything, explained everything in plain terms, and how thorough they were in keeping me updated on the car while they worked on it. Jonathan was a true gem!! I loved talking to him, he is absolutely going to keep me coming back (give him a raise). I was worried about finding an auto shop out here because we just moved to the area. I think me and my car found a home. Three folks you don't want cheap are sushi chefs, tattoo artists and car mechanics. The work I get done at German Auto is no exception - pricey, but worth every cent. The attention to detail and shop integrity is top notch. Could I get a better "deal" on broadway auto row? Sure. Would my vehicle run problem free for the next four years? Probably not. When all is said and done, the quality and peace of mind here speaks for itself.

I just bought my 2011 Mini Cooper and the previous owner used this repair shop and it just made since to go with the shop that already knew the car. What a nice group of humans! I just got an oil change, and from my initial phone call from making the appointment to dropping off the car and picking up after the work was completed was the best experience I've ever had at a auto repair spot. Unfortunately, I'm moving out of state and they shared how to find a good mechanic in my new town. If I wasn't moving this crew would be my forever car repair peeps. Thank you Jonathan and Alex for being great front of house peeps and to Ben who did the work on my car. I appreciate you so much and even though I've only experienced you all one time, my new mechanic has big shoes to fill.Service: Oil change

UPDATE: I returned here to have my "other" car worked on, as I had such a positive experience with my MINI JCW. I was super excited that Chris told me they were willing to take on my Chrylser Crossfire SRT-6. This car is new to me. I purchsed it online. When it arrived, there was a check engine light, which is an automatic fail for smog. Oh Boy. I was sure I had been hosed and bought a lemon.This car gave the guys a run for their money (and time). Still, although Chris and Alex could not get much help from Chrysler OR Mercedes, they stuck with it. I really don't believe other shops would have spent the amount of time and brain power on my new baby. Now, it is rolling like the sweet babe she is, and with shiny new plates :)I am lucky to have found GAS and will always bring my vehicles here. I completely agree with other on these reviews with regard to the passion Chris has for automobiles. I can't wait to join them at the track one day!This was my first post:This was my first time at GAS. My MINI Cooper S JCW (that is out of warranty) told me it needed brake pads. My warning light is gone and my calipers are all shiny :)I can't speak to cost or quality of work because I have no way to compare cost and can't see the work that was done. AFTER HAVING DRIVEN IT A WHILE NOW, I really feel the differnece in the braking. AWESOME.However, Chris says they use all genuine parts and I have a 3 year warranty on the work.I want to say that Chris, the owner, is a very friendly and warm person who really seems to care about what he does.I will be visiting them again very soon, because one of my other vehicles is not having issues! This auto shop and all of the guys who work there are ABSOLUTE GEMS! Never have I ever experienced such professional, kind and honest people at an auto repair shop. The trepidation I usually feel as a woman when I have to visit a mechanic evaporated immediately upon speaking with their team about my car. They are incredibly knowledgeable about German made cars, and their thorough inspection of my vehicle completely debunked what I feared was happening. Furthermore, they were able to pinpoint and solve the issue my car was having in a couple of hours. They really know what they re doing! Such a pleasant experience!
