Keeping an 80s/90s era Volkswagen Vanagon in good "daily driver" condition is neither easy nor cheap. Buslab has been vital in allowing me to do just that, averaging around 15,000 miles annually.Even with several full-time mechanics, Buslab is booked out anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. They're very good at what they do and because of that, you may have to wait. Make an appointment. It's not hard. If it's actual emergency, they will do their best to accommodate you. They I really appreciate both the work they've done as well as the education they've provided about my VW. I can't stress enough how happy I am with Buslab. I simply don't trust anyone else to work on my VW.

Brett and Adrian keep the trains running on time up at Buslab. Friendly and knowledgeable, they explain the work and run things by you. The techs out on the floor, like Brian and the rest of the crew, are upbeat and positive. The techs at Buslab work slow and methodical, taking great care and pride in their craft. To name a few, they've installed an L.P heatng system and auxiliary battery, and also mechanical work like a steering rack, trans shift rod seal and vehicle speed sensor on our 1991 Multivan. There arent many shops that run this well and this organized. Owner Marco has some solid employees behind him and hes built a great resource for the Bus and Vanagon community.

As a car enthusiast that does most of my own work, I have a great deal of respect for what it means to work on old cars, diagnose & repair problems, and send them on their way trouble free. It ain't easy! Buslab knows their trade and does their work with passion. It's great to have a local parts supplier too.

I stopped by Bus Lab totally unannounced with a concerning gas leak problem. This problem popped up while camping and I was several miles from home. Even though they were super busy, they welcomed me in and fixed the problem fast, getting me back on the road and saving me from being stranded far from home. They even gave me a coupon for a free coffee down the street! The whole experience was easy and everyone was really friendly and welcoming.

Wow! We were looking to purchase a '76 bus off Craigslist, but were a little worried about the problems the owner described. We called into the shop to get an opinion on the scope of the work and the man we spoke to was spectacular (EDIT: Thank you Adrian!!!). Thank you so much! He walked us through multiple scenarios and the cost breakdown. So thorough and helpful! If this is the level of service provided over the phone to a would-be customer then they have all of our future business!!

Buslab is awesome! I own a VW repair shop in Bellingham WA and am so impressed by their team. They often have hard to find parts, things that are out of stock everywhere else, and are always top quality. They are extremely dedicated to the VW craft just like us at Reference Automotive. Thank you for keeping the VW spirit alive! Buslab will always be our go to! Thank you thank you!

Helpful on the phone . Adjusted postage for a tiny package. Included a treat! Was nice to not feel rushed and be treated as a valuable customer even though it was my first purchase.

The only place we will take our Westie, we have been to all of the bay area shops n this one is my choice of the best. Why might you ask, no long strung out conversation unless you're getting educated by Dan, no BS from Marco or Adrian the service writers who have no problem sliding under a bus and getting their hands dirty.Theres more than a few shops to choose from and all have some good reviews but if you try here I'm gonna bet you'll stay. With this noted they get booked up a couple weeks in advance alot so plan ahead if you can.

They did great work, so the five stars. I was tempted to take one off, because I had to call twice and both times they said "yeah, it's ready" I was annoyed they hadn't called me. But the with they did was excellent.

Extremely professional and courteous! Great at diagnosing big or small problems with your VW Bus. BusLab found out was causing flapping noises on the highway and repaired the seal around the pop-up camper shell to my '87 Vanagon. They also found out what caused my instrument lights to not work when I could not find a fix.

I met Marco on holliday's camping while I had some trouble with my VW . Without a second thought he was over at my campsite testing and diagnosing my troubles. He even started pulling parts from his van to test on mine, sure enough he honed in on the problem in short order . He refused any pay and I totally appreciate his efforts. If you have a VW in the Berkeley area I highly recommend you take it to a great guy like Marco.

I have invested a large sum of money in a Subaru engine replacement and am very disappointed in its reliability. I have been back several times, and my Synchro runs no better now than it did before the replacement. Repairs apart from the rebuild were shoddy as well. I hope we can still work it out....Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Very over priced. And the people that work here are very full of themselves. Great if you want to pay double for the same service you could get somewhere else. Also there's nowhere to park and it's in a terrible neighborhood.

Wizards! My 1990 Vanagon power windows were haunted by a malevolent unfathomable force. When it was clear that science would not bring the demon under foot, BusLab did not waiver, they faced the challenge with arcane and blasphemous techniques, and subdued the unclean wind demon. They never gave up, did the mystical work for free, and exorcised the mighty Pazuzu! I can still hear the windows quietly chant Pazuzu as they rise to face the wind but now he is completely in my thrall! I am now master of the wind thanks to BusLab!
