I scheduled an appointment with this body shop because it was one of the options my insurance gave me after a hit and run accident. First of all, they sent a quote with an estimated wait time of 7 days which ended up being 14 days, they called me to pick up my car on a Thursday afternoon and when I got there they said that it wasn't ready, notice that by that time I had already returned my rented car so I had to make a new rent and pay for it from my pocket. The next day, I finally picked up my car, they did all the paper work first, they charge me and handle me the car key. No one inspected the car with me. When I got home I checked my car and found new scratches all over the area they worked on and the paint work was horrible! small bumps in the paint + drained paint. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!Services: Painting, Body & Trim

I took my car in for MINOR damage repair. I was backed into by another driver, which resulted in a few cracks to the paint on the left side of my rear bumper. Her insurance, Geico, gave me a choice of body shops. Because of its close proximity to my home & Enterprise car rental, I chose Berkeley Wright s Automotive.I took my car in 2 weeks ago and STILL don t have my car back! When I took the car in, they had me fill out paperwork on which I requested to be notified when the car was ready for pick up, but it never occurred to me that it would take this long for those minor repairs! I called after the car was in for a week and was told it would be ready this week because they had to order a bumper. I waited this entire week, and still heard nothing so I called again, and now they say it ll be next week! When I questioned this they said the supplier keeps delaying the delivery of the bumper. Really? Why didn t they give me a call to let me know?I m unable to comment in the quality of their repairs because I still don t have my car, but their customer service leaves something to be desired.

DON T EVER TAKE YOUR CAR HERE !!! I had a terrible experienced with this place , they are liars , dishonest, make excuses why your car is not ready , they tell you your car it s going to be ready at a certain time and when you go to get it it s not ready that happens daily , my car was supposed to be done in two days and over than 2 weeks passed and finally after so many complains they did the work , but they didn t do everything they said they were going to do . They initially didn t the job correctly, they put the wrong bumper and that bumper was defective!!! I have no words to explained how horrible they are , and the most frustrating part is that they don t care about anything . Too bad there are business like these . GEICO needs to removed them from being a vendor .

I ve been going to Wright s Automotive for years and could not be happier. They have fixed everything from broken air conditioners and faulty alternators, to overheating and collision damage. What I can t overstate is that I appreciate their honesty the most. I know that when I bring a car in that they find and fix the actual problem and don t inflate the issue to jack up the price of repair. That to me is very important. I have never felt taken advantage of or left wondering if the repair even needed to be done in the first place. I trust them enough to not only bring my cars to Dave, but also those of my wife, kids and even my Mom. That s because I know that I m going to get good service, skilled repairs and a fair price. Twice, I brought my son s car in for collision damage, they worked seamlessly with the insurance company to get the job done which meant I didn t need to waste my time arguing with my insurance.My only complaint is that the shop is located in Berkeley and not closer to where I live. The fact that I m willing to have my cars towed to their shop or drive it all the way in for routine maintenance is a testament to just how much I value their honesty. I have referred them to numerous friends and coworkers because of my absolute faith in their service. A big thanks to Dave, Manuel and everyone a Berkeley Wright s Automotive, I sincerely appreciate all your help over the years!Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim

More like wrong, wrong wrong, not wright. Even though this is a Geico recommended place please don't take your car here. It was supposed to be 2 weeks for my car to be ready, but it took 2 months, with constant lies of it will be ready tomorrow, no Friday, no Tuesday, no Friday, no Friday and so on an on. Constant lying. And then the work was shabby, came a loose the first day, then fixed it and it and it's still not right. These people have no regard for human beings. My worst experience ever. I would never ever recommend this shop to any one . It suppose to be a geico shop , fast and professional work and it s not even close to it they should be ashamed with their work . Charge $7,000 to fix the front end of my new Mercedes and charge for new parts and ended just using the damage parts again to keep more money for them selfs

These guys are on par with Cooks collision which is saying a lot. I have several old classics, and took a couple to Cooks for work. They were very good, but they were expensive. On a friend's advice, I brought my third collector to Wrights Auto. Dave, the owner meticulously went over the car and explained what he would do, and what he recommended. He even recommended a higher quality clear coat for my car, stating that it would be shinier and more durable, all for the same price. One of the body guys there was "old school" and was able to straighten one of my fenders without bondo! Now that's talent! Manuel, the foreman, called me in a week to tell me the car was ready (it was a "complete" with minor body work, so it took some time). When I got there, it was buffed, washed and ready to go. Manuel then greeted me and told me to let the finish cure and bring it back in 60 days so he would "detail" it to give it a final gloss, all included (no extra charge).I have since brought my last car to them for some additional work. Again, same service and same quality! Wrights is a fantastic find... a hidden gem!Thanks Dave and Manuel for a great job on both my cars! I had an appointment to get service in this bodyshop after i had an accident. But it's been almost 8 months. I still need to go several times to talk about the defects and not proper work so that I am having issues all the time with my car. And they are just not gonna make it easy. They take a lot of time to fix the things. I call several times and they make excuses. I went to them and they say that come this day that day. Not a good work. They don't care about nothing. Stop, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THEY TAKE WEEKS TO RETURN YOUR CAR AND ARE FULL OF LIES ON WHY NOT READY. AGAIN , WORST COMPANY EVER. I DONT KNOW HOW THEY ARE STILL OPERATING. ! Awful awful service. They deserve -0!!!!

Nicole the air head at the front desk is always giving the wrong information about your car. I returned my rental cause she said my car was ready turns out a week later my car still isn t ready and I m carless. Go to a shop that is more organized and honest about your repairs.

The owner/operator is as honest as they come. He didn't make any promises he couldn't keep and he didn't suggest any work that didn't need to be done. The shop is clean and the staff is friendly. Going without your car is hard. It's easy to be angry, so this place made the experience a little easier to deal with. It'll get my business again.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

One hundred percent no!!!!!Hold my car for 1 month without doing anything.And then after one month, they started doing thing. Finished 50% of what they promised and returned the car to me with scratches everywhere

I ve taken all my vehicles here for over 10 years. From oil changes to body work. Always reliable, trustworthy and well priced, plus easy/clear communication. This is the only place I recommend to all my friends. Delayed repairs by 2 days, not a big deal. Didn't paint one of my bumper replacement parts, didn't check to see if bumper sensors and heat sensors worked before returning it. 2 of my lug nuts on my tire were extremely loose, found a giant screw in my tire, and the brand new undercarriage and bumper were scratched. Thanks geico, a truly trustworthy authorized repair shop.

Dropped car off after a accident. I was told car would be ready to in three days and I would be notified of updates on repair ( which I never received). I called a week later and was told my car would be ready that evening. I waited and picked up car the next day. I arrived and no was in the office. I waited a few minutes and called to let them know I was picking up my car. I told the guy I was returning the rental car and needed to drop off items in my car. He walked in the office and sat down and began texting on his phone. I told him again I needed my car . Once it arrived I opened my trunk and noticed the cover had been removed and my belongings had been rummaged through. I was missing medical supply and medicine. I notified the guy of the problem he mentioned he had pictures that he never showed me nor apologized. I looked inside the car and noticed a jug of motor oil on the back floor which had nothing to do with my car. Coffee cups in the cup holder which wasn t mine and a picture removed from a sacred place in my car. I DO NOT RECOMMEND leaving or taking your car to this business. A complete violation and disrespect for property. Poor customer service and awful business.Service: Body & Trim

This is my 2nd time getting my car repaired with this autobody/mechanic shop after ANOTHER collision this year- less than 3 months Smh But my experience both times have been quite satisfying, actually. The car looks better than it did coming off the used car lot! Lol.. It did take a while for everything but they were able to communicate with Geico , Enterpise, and the Lien-holder to work things out smoothly and I eventually got what I wanted (expected) after waiting oh- so patiently. I am a satisfied customer & I have no bars when it comes to driving, but I will try not to crash the car again.. Services: Painting, Electrical, Body & Trim

This place is the worst. After they repaired my door, the handle fell off the next week. They never put the trim back on the top of the car either. I tried to work with them but they kept telling me to come back the next week, or they didn't have any body in the shop that could help. The next week I would come back and it was the same thing. When I finally said that I was going to contact GEICO because I was fed up with this back and forth, he told me to go ahead that it was my fault the door handle broke off because I must ve pulled it too hard. I found this pretty laughable given it was the exact same door he repaired, and somehow coincidentally I hulked the door handle off? I just finally reopened my claim and send a complaint to GEICO. This place should be shut down, they do not care about customers or their time, the quality of the job or customer experience.

DONOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. this place was suggested by insurance.They are very unresponsive.They take forever to repair and make excuses.They donot properly repair your damage. They basically do the bare minimum and paints over the damage without completely fixing it.NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE.

To start off, two of our cars were hit in a hit and run. Our insurance company booked an appointment for us with this autoshop as it was close and convenient. I would HIGHLY advise anyone interested in this auto shop to look elsewhere. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this shop under any circumstances. To begin, it took both of our cars a total of 6 weeks to fix. While we have sympathy for delays in shipping due to COVID, the service was still unacceptable. We were told many different timelines and even went into the shop 3-4 times because they told us it would be done. When we came to the shop, each time we were told it would be another few days and sent back home without our cars. We had to be proactive in asking when our cars would be done and they would give us a rough estimate and say they would call us back. When they wouldn t call us back, we would call them and they would respond angrily saying it still isn t done. The customer service was awful and they treated us horribly. When we finally got our cars back after 6 weeks of them working on it, there were still so many things wrong with the engine and interior. Because of their horrible service, we had to take our cars to a 2nd shop to fix the interior issues. I had a 4 month old 2020 Honda Accord and they managed to burn various holes in the back seat interior all the way through the cushion, which was most likely due to welding. They did a horrible paint job on both of the cars with air bubbles showing, the Honda s back window was broken, the rubber surrounding the windows were not properly glued down, the alignment was incredibly off centered and this was something they said was supposedly fixed, they even managed to leave off the badges on my Accord that say Accord and Sport . They had to reimburse us for our car rentals and could not even pay us the correct amount despite us showing them the receipts and amount shown. They gave us our cars back as if they were back to brand new when this was not the case at all and the second shop even stated that both cars were extremely unsafe to drive and were shocked that the auto shop gave our cars back to us in this condition. They even managed to get a parking ticket on one of our cars and did not disclose this to us. We received the ticket in the mail and had to go to the shop to find out what happened. We attempted to reach the owner, but was never able to be put in contact with him as they told us he wasn t there or he would call us. However, it has been over a month and we still have not received any call from them. Exhausted with dealing with their service, we gave up trying to contact the owner. While I could go on and on of the horrible quality of service, I want to reiterate how strongly I feel about this recommendation TO NOT EVER GO TO THIS SHOP.Services: Exhaust, Tires, Painting, Body & Trim, Welding

I would not bring my vehicle here ever again. I was better off bring it straight to the factory mechanic.After picking up my car, I noticed a sound coming from the driver's side, a sound that was not there before my accident. I brought it back in. After a whole week, they couldn't find the problem. I insisted that they needed to fix it. Geico told me I could take it anywhere and get a second opinion. If the second mechanic said it was accident/repair related, they'd pay for it. And that was exactly the case. The first mechanic apparently forgot to connect the ABS sensor. Not only that, the mechanic at Berkeley Wright's recommended that I replace all my engine mounts. The factory mechanic stated they're perfectly fine.If you have body work, sure, take it to Berkeley Wright's (it's body, work, how hard can it be). But if you have mechanical problems from your accident, go somewhere else. I actually came out with a mechanical problem that i didn't go in with. That, and a few original bolts were switched with random bolts from the undercarriage.In regards to body work, my door and fender look ok, but my door now squeaks and has never again stayed open.

Took my car here to get repaired from a minor accident and it turns out that one of the employees took my car home over the 4th of July holiday. When I picked my car up it reeked of cigarettes and the passenger side door wasn't fixed properly. There were over 100 extra miles put on my car since the time I initially brought it in. Now every time someone gets in on the passenger side, my car makes a really loud squeaking noise. When I addressed the issues with the manager Manuel, he first acted as if he couldn't understand what I was saying and then never returned any more of my phone calls. Horrible horrible experience. Never bring your vehicle here.

I was sent to Berkeley Wright s automotive by Geico insurance . They kept my car for 9 days for a repair they said would only take 3 days because they didn t repair everything they put into the estimate. They didn t order the parts they said they would replace. I took my car back three times. After I noticed they didn t make all the agreed on repairs. I took the car back a second time for them to make the needed repairs, when I picked my car up and noticed that my windshield was broken. They dropped something on it and cracked it. Then when they had the windshield replaced, they put the wrong windshield in. My original windshield was tinted at the top reflecting glare. They put in a totally clear glass. There is a glare that is in the windshield anytime I drive towards the sun. I m still trying to find a body shop that can locate and put the right windshield in. That was in June , today I received a bill from the car rental company saying they sent the business the bill, it hasn t been paid. This has been an ongoing frustrating mess. I question their integrity. I wouldn t have thought of going there if Geico hadn t recommended them. Geico made everything appear to be seem less and professional. My experience is a nightmare. And after everything, I called Geico for help and they tell me that there s nothing they can do. So I m going to have to go this ordeal alone. I was rear ended by a Geico customer to begin all of this. I m going to post on yelp and the better business bureau. I wouldn t do business with either one of these business . Night mare!!!

My Car's been there for over 2 weeks. No updates, nothing. Any update I've gotten has been ME calling to find out where my car is. I called on Saturday, was told my car would be ready Monday, "at anytime, we open at 8." Today is Monday. Went in, no car, they had no idea where it was. Something is not right here. I hope my car is still drivable when I finally pick it up (if it still exists).So...update: finally got car...only to discover...THEY FORGOT TO PUT THE BOLTS BACK in the part they fixed!!!!

Very poor communication. Car in worse condition after bringing it here. I finally got my car back after 1.5 months. Car was making weird sounds on the driver s side that wasn t there before the accident and as of today, the car won t even start.Update: I took my car to another repair shop, and the mechanic said, "This has to be the worst repair I've ever seen." My car got totaled after being repaired at Berkeley Wright's.

I took my car in after an accident where the driver's door, bumper, and fender were crushed. First, they communicated terribly with me about what was wrong and when it would be ready again. When I got the car back, the driver's side lock didn't work. I had medical procedures coming up and couldn't resolve this right away. When I was finally able to get a hold of someone there, I took my car in. They told me that they'd talk to my insurance to cover this and replace it and call me when the part was in.They never called me. I called a few times. Once again, would not communicate directly with me. The guy I talked to wanted to argue about the fender for some reason. I finally got someone on the phone who would talk to me. She said the door lock wasn't their fault even though they worked on the door.All I know is that my car lock worked when I took it in despite the door damage and when I got it back, it didn't work. They refuse to take any responsibility and told me it would cost $900 to fix.I asked some friends about this place. Apparently, this is the usual for them.

I took my vehicle to Wright's after being referred by Geico and they had our vehicle for over a month. They called on multiple occasions stating that our vehicle was ready for pick up. Each time we arrived we found the vehicle in worse condition than we'd brought it in. They damaged another area of our vehicle and lied. But pictures taken upon arrival proved there was no previous damage ro that area of our vehicle. The manager fessed up that he'd never worked on our model vehicle and had no idea how to repair it. In the end they were unable to put the vehicle back together resulting in a trip to the dealership. DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE.
