I've taken my Honda Element here several times. I've always been very satisfied with the service friendly, professional, fair prices. They take the time to listen and then explain what's going on with the car. Then they work with you to prioritize the most important repairs. What more can you ask for in a garage?

Unfortunately I didn t have an acceptable experience at this auto repair shop. I was told that a diagnostic review would take 2 to 3 hours and it ended up taking 5 hours, while I was fortunate to find a wonderful coffee shop across the street for waiting. I was then told when they found the problem for which I took the car to them, that they didn t have the needed part and wouldn t be able to repair it until the next day. So my son left work to come and pick me up to drive me home. When we arrived at the auto shop to make arrangements for the next day, we were told that they actually did have the needed part after all and were repairing the car now. So my son and I drove back to the lovely coffee shop to await the repair being finished. So it actually turned out that my son didn t need to leave work after all to take me home since the car did get repaired.In addition, the shop tried to sell me on buying more repair work amounting to at least $1,000, that I didn t need. I checked with my former excellent auto repair shop in Sacramento that I used for years before moving to the Bay Area, and explained what these folks were saying and he affirmed that these new repairs were not needed.I do not trust this establishment now and would not recommend them to anyone.

Sol was very helpful, honest, polite, tentative and knowledgeable. The crew does excellent. I felt safe and I knew I was going to get quality work done on my car at a fair price. I recommend the Berkeley auto care to all those travelers that may break down and are in need of repair. They have excellent hours and open on holidays.

Had my car towed here after all the power steering fluid leaked out. They located the leak on a part that was recently replaced by another shop and gave me good information to relay to the other shop so I could get it towed there and repaired under warranty. The diagnostic price was quite reasonable. And a big shoutout to Ricky for being so friendly, attentive, and helpful! I would not hesitate to bring my car here for future work.

In summer of 2022, before a driving trip to LA, I took my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan in for an oil job, they suggested I also change the break pads, which I agreed to. On the trip down, the breaks seized up and it was as if I was driving with the parking break on. The car had never before had any problems like this. At some point later, the breaks un-seized and I was able to make the trip back to Berkeley. I took it back to Berkeley Auto Care and they said the breaks had melted down but weren't really able to understand why. Now, randomly during long trips, the breaks will seize up like before, causing the gas mileage to plummet and creating an awful smell. I'm very frustrated with the fact that they suggested doing the break job originally and now I am stuck with break problems on my car. Seems like amateurs over there.

It seems silly to recommend this place. If it becomes popular then I ll never be able to get in. But it is the best place to get your car fixed in Berkeley. So, you re welcome.

This shop has great service and reliable technicians. It's my go to for car needs. Hard to find a place you can trust, but they do a good job. Keep up the great work!

Berkeley Auto Care is a great auto repair shop. We have taken multiple cars here, over 15 years. They are reliable and reasonably priced.

I ve been here twice this month due to nails rudely squatting inside the SAME tire. Both times they took care of me immediately- most recent was this morning 12/27/22. Customer service is important to me and Berkeley Auto Care provided that. I recommend this place and it s definitely a go to spot for me

Car broke down a mile away randomly, battery was leaking. When I arrived without any knowledge of cars. They had ran out of batteries. Instead of having me go to another dealer on my scooter the guy drove to a nearby scooter, got the battery for me, charged a good price and showed me how to fix it. These guys are very friendly and super helpful!Service: Auto battery replacement

I made the mistake of being in a hurry and taking my car to dicey mechanic because they had an immediate opening.I should've just wanted a week for Berkeley Auto Care; they had to undo & redo the other shop's mistakes.When I picked up my car, it was in the best shape ever.Also, Art is wiling to take time and discuss all issues with the vehicle in general.

Had my brakes done here recently. The employees were very curteous and professional. They did my brakes in a timely manner and even replaced the battery in my car key for free. They were honest about what needed to be done now and what could be done in the future and how soon. Highly recommend!Service: BrakesService: Brakes

Got a nail in my tire - they checked the tire with water to find the hole patched it, retested the tire, and got me on my way in under 20m for just the cost of the tire patch. Definitely would recommend!Service: Auto tire replacementService: Auto tire replacement

Asked them to fix a tire. They insist that I have to pay $700 to change tires instead. I ended up fixing the tire myself for $7 instead of changing the tires like they asked for $700.Went to my dealership yesterday for check-up. They confirmed that my tires are fine and do not need to be replaced. TOTAL SCAM.

our van s check engine light went on after driving from orange county, we took it here to get an inspection and fix the problems. the staff was incredibly nice and very helpful, would stay late to ensure us be able to leave town on time. always answered the phone about questions, and were very fast. great auto repair, and brilliantly nice people. they deserve your business.

I took my truck to them because my daughter said they did good work and would be honest. My heck engine light keeps coming on as well as a light saying my transmission is overheating. I have owned the truck since 2012. These two lights have been coming on and going off since I first bought it. In the past I would put fuel injector fluid in the tank and the che k engine light would go off for a while. For the transmission I put fluids in and the same thing would happen.When I took the truck in I explained all this. They charged me $130 to diagnose the problems and kept the truck 4 days. (2 were over the weekend) I was told that the transmission would require $1200 worth of work or a new transmission if their first guess was not correct. They suggested I change the fluid and filter and see if it helped. I agreed. For the check engine light they said I need a tune up. I was charged, including the $130, $1000 and some change. I pi ked the truck up on Monday and Wednesday checked the transmission oil and it was 3 quarts low. I brought it in and they put transmission oil in the truck. By Friday the check engine light was back on. I called them and was told that they were like doctors. They run test and rule things out. If their 1st guess doesn't work they try something else. I was told to bring the truck back in. I don't have that kind of money to throw away. It makes more sense to beat it with a sledge hammer until it starts working properly.

Friendly and efficient service! Called for an appointment on Tuesday, was in by Wednesday at 8am, had the problem diagnosed by 10am, and my car was available by 11:30am. I was absolutely amazed by how quick they were in fixing my brakes and changing my oil. Many thanks!

I ve used this body shop a few times over the years. Always found willingness to take a look for small things like low tire pressure light and inflate my car tires for free. Consistently polite and helpful.

Apart from having to run off catalytic converter thieves who backed into my driveway and were about to jack up my Prius, I was very happy to find Berk. Auto Care. They installed a shield, which should help, and fixed another lingering issue. Efficiently, reasonably and pleasantly. Will return

Friendly people, fast service. I bring my car here for oil changes or whenever something comes up. I usually get an appointment right the next day. Last time they couldn't fix the part that was broken (had to be done by a dealer), and they didn't charge me for the time it took them to look at it. Then they gave me advice where I could get it fixes. I like these guys!

Ricky Chevron and his staff took great care of my son's older car for his four years at Cal. They have demonstrated a real regard for his safety and have been very fair with our family in delivering excellent service even after the sale. Highly recommended.

They are good (and know it) they gave me a quote then tried to save me some money every way they could. They also helped me one morning when my battery died (from,an unrelated matter) and I had to get to work . I walked to them and they were nice enough to loan me there charger. I returned it and made it to work on time.I continuously come back to them because even though it pains me to spend the money like anyone else. I also know that my problem will be fixed and on time. And that in turn gives me time to focus on my bussiness.So yes . I recommend these people. There professional, skilled, and will give you your money's worth.When I first went to them i noticed they were foreigners and was automatically suspicious. But after comparing the quote he gave me with other shops I saw and started to believe he was doing me a favor so I decided to try him out. On replacing my catillitic converter. Finished on time. And running good .Forieners ain't did me wrong (yet). I still stay aware though.They ain't American.

Came there 3 month ago to fix the brake pedal. They did the inspection for more than $200 and said there was nothing wrong with the brake.I had an accident partly due to the weak brake a month ago. I came to another auto shop, and they said someone did something incomplete to my brake around 3 month ago, made it even worse, and now they need to change it completely for $500 to make it work. Well.

I went to this place only because of the high rating but I think it's manipulated or something must be changed in recent past.They charged $120 for diagnosis which took 2 days and still gave me wrong result for a noise problem my car had. A competitor performed the diagnosis regarding the same problem only for $30 which solved the problem. The technicians were unprofessional and gave me an impression that they weren't interested in solving the problem.

Not having a used tire I needed may have been out of their hands, but refusing to help me figure out another shop that would is another. Obviously don't care about you unless they can make money.

Really friendly and kind people. I didn't pay for service, but they filled my tires up for free anyways.
