Poorly run business. I brought in my driveshaft for U-joint replacement. I specifically stated I wanted all my original parts back BEFORE the work order. I mentioned that twice more during phone calls. Sure enough I show up and they had discarded some of my original parts. I paid for balancing. I saw no evidence of balancing. The original 50 year old weight was in the exact same spot as when I brought it in and no new weights were added. I don't think it was balanced at all. There were impact strikes on the yoke. I've done that job before, I know it means they did not use a press. That's why I brought it in, to have them professionally installed using a press. I could have wacked them in with a hammer in my garage myself. They gave me a $100 discount but I didn't get what I ordered or paid for. Cheap nylon seals on the joints too. Counter lady tried to deflect blame back to me when I was very clear with my instructions that ALL original components be returned upon completion of the job. Say away from this place if you care about the work performed. It's sloppy work. I could have done better myself at home with a vise and an socket.

I bought one of their factory replacement driveshafts to replace my 400k mile driveshaft. The build quality is amazing, shipping was very fast, and customer service is awesome. I will definitely do business with them again

Highly recommend. Had a bad carrier bearing in my ram 3500. As you might know that's a non serviceable item, the entire driveshaft has to be replaced. 3 days after calling these guys they had it ready. All the parts in stock, excellent workmanship, awesome welds and perfectly balanced. It fits just right and I had it installed in about 10 minutes plus it's a major upgrade in comparison to the stock shaft so I'm expecting plenty of trouble free miles out of it. The staff is very friendly and knows their stuff. Thank you guys and gals for running a quality business!

Got a driveshaft for my 2015 ram 3500 about 7 months ago and 60k miles towing 30,000lbs 5 days a week, still looks brand new. Stronger and better quality than OEM. Also fast & great service & good people.

Shipped 1st shaft too short , 2nd shaft was haphazardly assembled causing front ujoint to come apart at 75mph only 4 miles into test drive. The cause was retaining c clip was not seated into groove holding ujoint cap into yoke , catastrophically shook transfer case and transmission to point of breaking both cases . Repair bill for it was 14k on Ram 2500 4x4. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE AT THIS LOCATION TO do Profesional work. Now after sending back defective damaged shaft I get no response or any compensation for the damage to my truck . You would have better odds on the lotto than doing business with this company , now legal action has to be taken to get compensation for dam

I had them build me a complete a two piecedrive line with a telescopic second half for my 63 Impala with hydraulics. They did a top quality job and price didn't break the bank!! Office staff very knowledgeable new exactly what I needed. And when they told me the turn around time I didn't believe them. They even called me day before they had said it would be ready. I'll most definitely be taking any future drive lines to them!!!

Not to satisfied with this company I ordered some extra installation parts for some driveshafts that my customers paid for and never received them. I took it upon myself to call and spoke to a woman to see if they could help get the parts to me ASAP . It s been over a month and still haven t received anything from them . Good product bad business ethics

Company scrapped my existing driveline for sitting too long when I explained to them beforehand the motor was being rebuilt and the excuse I got was the secretary was no longer working there that filed my paperwork with dimensions originally.... terrible business practice. Guess that's what you get with small local business without current logging systems I'm place. Pretty sure she took my info on a sticky note, should have been my first red flag. Price went from $175 for a rebuild to now $450 newEDIT back to owner. Wow! You're correct one year, but how do you know when it was dropped off but no other info?? So youre wrong about communication. Not my fault you have a revolving door of employees that don't relay messages or understand how to file paperwork accordingly. I'm sure a more reputable company will have company policies in place to protect customers, not just the business getting to throw out and charge for new. And of that year the last 4 months have been waiting on "well call you back when we find your info" with zero call backs

Had them build a 2 piece driveshaft for my crew cab Silverado, 6000lb truck that s far from stock. All I can say is the quality and pride that goes into the workmanship and the tech support is impeccable. This place is top notch and knows what they're doing, which is a rarity these days.Thank you Performance Driveline for making this so easy. It s perfect.

Well gave them a chance to make it right..got ignored. Bought a $800 dodge aluminum ds. Showed up to my door with no weights. Installed..horrible vibration at 50mph+. Called them, they said to ship it back that they would send a shipping label. Long story short they never got me a label after a week of calling...Idecided to take to a local ds shop. Put the shaft on the balancer, one side was out 70 grams and it looked like a jump rope when it was spinning. So learn from my mistake.. overall bad product and customer service.

Beautiful 1 piece aluminum drive shaft for a 2nd Gen Dodge to replace the vibrating 2 piece. 5" diameter and 7' long this thing is a beast and smooth sailing now. Ordered on a Tuesday and received on the following Monday. Great service and even better product. Talk about attention to detail, even the slip yoke is plated to prevent rust.

I wanted to like this company. I sincerely did. They are very nice on the phone when I have called with my problems. But have failed to deliver and end product. I bought what I believed to be a factory replacement driveshaft from them on eBay and received three different length ones. They kept telling me my dimensions were wrong. Yet they kept referencing their spec sheet measurements. How can I be the reason that they made me three different lengths if my input is ignored. They obviously never listened to what I was trying to explain as the problem. Very frustrating. I gave them the finished length I needed after the first one arrived almost two inches too short. People make mistakes. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I measured my original driveshaft and told them it needed to be a specific length. I was assured that the next one would come out that length and that someone would verify the length before it was shipped. Lo and behold the second one came back an inch too long. So I called again and was assured that the third one would come the correct light. The third one arrived and was now an inch too short. Several phone calls later and I was told that they would check into it and get back to me. Now I have the third drive shaft, which is too short and I am returning that for a refund. They are unable to understand what I believe to be simple measurements. I have supplied them with pictures of the original one next to multiple incorrect like once. And even given them their required links. Yet I continue to receive the wrong driveshaft for my vehicle. They blame me for the problem. They have been most helpful but no one can complete the necessary fabrication of a driveshaft which matches my original factory part. So frustrating. I would look elsewhere for your driveline needs. Unless you have plenty of time and money to waste.

Ordered a 2 piece drive shaft conversion for my 06 Silverado. The crossmember that was sent was wrong. The directions sent were for a 14-18. I sent in pics of the crossmember and was told it was right everyone here looked at it. I asked if they would send me measurements so I could confirm for myself and they wouldn t. I couldn t get past the girl who answers the phone to speak with someone who actually knew anything. Was the worst customer service I have had to deal with. They also sent the driveshaft to the wrong address and had to have fedex hold it so they didn t send it back to them. Ended up having a local shop modify the crossmember they sent me to work. I guess the only good thing that happened is they built the driveshaft to the right length I sent them. If you need a conversion to go to a 2 piece driveshaft I would look elsewhere.

During the initial phone call, I told them what I wanted. I was told that it shouldn't be a problem. I drove over an hr to drop off the drive line. 1 week later...I called for an update and was.told that they didn't want to shorten it 2 inches. They wanted to sell me a new one for $600.00. What pisses me off is that I had to call them to be told this and that it was 1 week later. So luckily inwas able to find a shop very close to me and they did it SAME DAY....for a very good price.

Carried my worn spline and driveline assembly in. (I had an appointment)A business this good doesn't have a lot of spare time. They kept me in the loop..."now it's being balanced. Now they need to paint it yet. "Technician carried it out to my vehicle. (F550 flatbed tow truck.)Does not vibrate and is great quality workmanship. Thank you very much.

My part arrived before I even expected it would have shipped. I ordered my yoke on Friday afternoon, and it arrived Monday morning. Beyond being quick, the part was excellent quality, and fit perfectly. They exceeded all of my expectations.

I really liked talking to these people, they were very friendly and seemed helpful, but BEWARE! I'm a mechanic and machinist. After changing a set of u-joints on my daughter's '05 Chevy 1500, a vibration developed. Knowing that it is common, I needed to rebalance the driveline, so I called Performance Driveline of Bakersfield. They said it would be a week before they could even look at it. Fast-forward, early Friday morning they called and said my driveline is dented and I need a new one. For $400. I say, WHAT?! I ll be right down. I asked two people there to show me this dent. The first lady, pointed to the smooth, even smudge mark made by my dirty leather gloves when I was inspecting the driveline with the rear end on stands. I told her that s not a dent! She said she s more than happy to try and balance it but, whether or not it balances, it will still cost $80. The second guy, who appeared to be one of their machinists, looked over the driveline and said it could be bent after the driveline tapers to the pinon yoke and can t be balanced. I told them I ll look into this further. I immediately took it to another shop, PTO Sales, and told them the whole ordeal. In 30 seconds, their machinist said he s 99% sure it s not bent and decided to throw it on a lathe really quick to confirm it. While in plain view, he inspected the driveline and soon presented me with a painted and balanced driveline for $66. So, Performance Driveline of Bakersfield, does not appear to be honest or worth their price of services as attested by me, Annette Carter, Mike And Ema, and Mark Cardwell reviews. I sure hope this review helps you make a decision that works best for you.

Purchased a drive shaft from them for a Ford F150 (original was throw away) in May 2013. I live in TN and had them ship it for a cost of $628. Initially they were very nice and the product seemed fine when delivered and installed. However, in less than 2 months and probably not even 100 miles the center support bearing which was a part of this new drive shaft failed and left us stranded at 2:30am requiring a tow truck and repair to a tune of $465. We tried to contact Damon at Performance Industries several times and he never would return our calls. We had phone contact once with Damon and he asked us to send pictures of the damaged bearing which we did. Every time we called back after than to inquire about it, he wasn't there and we left messages for him to return our call, I believe he may have called back 1 time as my husband had a call on his phone from them but no message and since then we have tried to contact them with no return response and leaving messages. When we purchased the driveshaft they had indicated there was a warranty of some type. I cannot in good faith recommend this company at this point due to their poor customer service and the apparently faulty product they manufacture and sell.

Excellent Customer service. Shelby answered all my questions about newer Silverados 2014-2017 and I had to buy their product. I installed the 2 piece Driveshaft conversion kit on my 2015 Silverado 5.3. I Also did Brand new high quality Aftermarket Axles. My Chevy SHAKE is Gone. Thank you Damon, Morgan and Performance Driveline for being a great Customer service focused company. If anyone needs more feedback find me on Facebook also

I built a long travel 2000 GMC Sierra prerunner, called these guys and asked about a new driveline and gears for the rear end. Damon was the one I talked to at first, he seemed a little busy but insisted on me telling him about the entire build and I m glad he did because I did some extra suspension work and that changed the overall measurement of the new driveline so once that was done they custom built an aluminum one piece shaft with a new set of 4.56 gears to go with my 35 inch tires. They told me to go easy on the first 500 miles to allow the gears to break in. I followed their instructions and the truck is doing great. One of the guys called a few days ago (not sure which one) just to check on the truck and see how it s doing, that call ultimately lead to this review. The differential tech stays pretty busy In the back so he can be hard to get ahold of but he s good about calling back In a reasonable time. All in all these guys are honest and are good at what they do.

Called in about a conversion kit to make a 4wd truck 2wd. Spoke with morgan who was more than helpful, cant say enough about that lady, very friendly and she knows her stuff! They had the complete kit in a heavy duty version. Driveshaft 2 pc steel, 1350 series spicer joints, cromoly slip yoke, crossmember for carrier bearing and it was a bolt on kit (no welding). Everything was less than local driveline repair company wanted for just the shaft. Thrilled i found you guys! Highly recommend!
