We highly recommend this business for expert repair of Ford diesel trucks. Mechanics at Hoven s are knowledgeable, friendly and honest. We had our Ford deisel truck towed to their shop after the check engine light lighted up and the truck started losing power. They ran diagnostics and began to trouble the problem. They discovered that the fuel filter was not completely sealed. They tightened the filter and got the truck running again. We are so grateful that they were able to help us.

Grade A. I called a day ahead to schedule an oil change. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Brian, the owner, was very attentive and apologized for the so-called long wait.

I strongly recommend Hoven's Automotive for your light diesel truck repair. My check engine light recently came on in my 2019 F250 truck. After taking it to an oil change place to see what the code indicated, I called Brian at Hoven's Automotive to see if he could diagnose the problem. He got me in on short notice and quickly found the issue. Since the truck is still under warranty, he advised me to get my truck fixed at Ford. Even after spending some time explaining what was wrong, he refused to charge me for the diagnostic work. In the future, Hoven's Automotive will be my choice for future repairs to my truck.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Hoven s Automotive is always trustworthy. I have a 2004 Ford Excursion 6.0L and he has done some amazing work to it as needed. Very knowledgeable when it comes to Ford's. He has worked on my 7.3 for different reasons and his work is very thorough. Getting it done right the first time is very important as diesels can be expensive to repair. He came highly recommended and I also recommend him to others as well. Definitely trustworthy when it comes to diagnosis.

One of the best experiences I've had with a mechanic while traveling. Finding a mechanic on the road can be scary. Brian is very fair with his labor, pricing, and the entire staff is very generous with their time. They are extremely knowledgeable and were a welcome surprise after having recently dealt with a pretty lousy mechanic in another town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, nor would I hesitate to go back if I find myself in need of their services anywhere within a day's drive.

Had another shop her in town tell me I had a blown or cracked head gasket. I was referred by another mechanic who said these guys are the 7.3 powerstroke guru. He said I had a clogged radiator. This saved me thousands of dollars. 2000 miles later and my Excursion is running perfect!

They deserve as many stars as are in the galaxy. The best people, best service, fair price. I have taken more then 30 diesel trucks to them evertime they exceed our expectation, fixed issues in one shot at fair price. They are not expensive at all. Very honest guy. I wish more businesses follow their steps. Great Job

I had my injector cups, injectors and glow plugs replaced here. They were done when they said they would be for the price they quoted me and I haven't had any problems with the repairs they did. That was 4 years ago. I would definitely recommend this shop for ford diesels. I will bring my truck back here if I need another repair.

Brian has done a lot of exceptional work on my truck over the years. I was leaving the state in 24 hours when my truck developed a leak that covered my driveway. I called him in a panic, and he said to bring it down. He diagnosed a fixed the problem quickly and got me to my cross country destination without issue. Thanks Brian, you're the best.

My 2007 6.0 had a difficult-to-diagnose issue that had been eluding me for months. Took it to Hoven's Automotive based on reviews that I saw online. Totally worth it!! Very professional and communicative, unlike most independent shops these days. These guys took the time to figure out what was going on and fixed it right. The price was VERY reasonable; I know that they spent more time diagnosing and testing than what they charged me for. Thanks Brian and crew, I will be back.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Brian and his staff were quick diagnosing the problem when my check engine light came on. They were professional and provided outstanding service. Best place to take a Ford diesel in Bakersfield. Highly recommended.

I had a problem with my f350 coming into Bakersfield. I found Hovens And I will say they are possibly the best shop I have entered. They diagnosed the fix as a wire that had rubbed over the valve cover causing injector issues. He could have easily told me I needed an injector for 900.00 but he didn't. A really fair place with quality techs.Service: Electrical repair

Hoven s is the place to take your Ford diesels! I call them the Ford Doctor s. I ve had my truck in there on 3 different occasions, each time the problem was corrected the first time. Fair pricing, great communication, and completed on time. I couldn t image going anywhere else. FYI - don t be put off by the location, or the office decor.Service: Engine repair

Our F250 6.0 L diesel died south of Bakersfield, and we were towed into Hoven's. They quickly scanned our Ford, replaced the fuel injection control module and the EGR valve, and we were back on the road again. The total event took 5 hours, including waiting for the tow. Brian Hoven and his staff were prompt and courteous. The bill was not cheap (nothing is anymore), but it was significantly less than a dealer's cost. We recommend Hoven's to any Ford diesel owner.

Brian Hoven is quite an expert on Ford diesels. He and his staff also know the competitive technology. He really well analyzes the situation and expedites the repair process. This is the first place I would choose for nearly any repair or maintenance service

Experienced a couple warning lights with 2009 Chevy Silverado 4x4 1500 (ABS and traction control) while on a month long hunting trip around the West with my son. Brakes weren't working great so pulled in to Bakersfield. Looked up a few places and settled on Hoven's Automotive.EXTREMELY HAPPY that I did. Brian gave me a time to come in and upon arrival he had a mechanic looking at our issue. Diagnosed issue within 5 minutes, gave me a quote, and ordered the part. The mechanic took things apart while he waited for the car part to arrive. As soon as the part arrived they went straight to installing it.During the process the mechanic explained what he was looking for and why. He showed us the issue and explained it to us, while ensuring the issue didn't cause further damage (thankfully it did non). He allowed my son to watch (my son is in autotech classes in high school, so he has an interest) and continually explained things along the way.Brian's shop specializes in light duty diesel but they are happy to help. Bakersfield wasn't a planned stop sho we wanted to get back on the road. This place is great, makes you feel good about getting your car fixed. Brian also gave me a veteran discount. Brian has a good shop and the mechanic that worked on our truck was awesome. If you find yourself in need of auto assistance, call Hoven's Automotive.

Had a couple of issues fixed at Hoven's. Went as expected, pricing was fair, and there was good communication about issues and options to maintain my older truck. Brian is always willing to answer questions about issues with the truck, concerns I have, and help me try to take care of my 3rd owner, 15 year old 7.3!

This is absolutely the only place to take your 6.0 diesel!! Or any Ford diesel for that matter..Brian and his team are Awesome! Skilled! and upfront Honest!I live in Las Vegas and last month while traveling through Bakersfield my truck fried its EGR cooler! After calling a couple other shops late in the day, and getting the usual run around, I called and talked with Brian (the owner). Even though his mechanics had already left for the day, he waited for me to limp my truck and Airstream trailer to his shop to have a look at it. Talk about customer service!!I ended up camping out in front of his shop over night. (with all the comforts of my little trailer). First thing the next morning, Even tho his shop was somewhat busy, they had my truck in the shop, accurately diagnosed, and being repaired. The costs were also very reasonable as well. Mind you an EGR cooler and oil cooler repair is exhaustive and doesn t happen quickly. The skilled mechanics there had me back on the road by the end of the day!These guys really care about their clients. Lol When they took there lunch break, they even stopped by my trailer to see if I was hungry and offered to get me a lunch while they were out! Great bunch of guys!If I ever need major work done on this truck again, I ll be taking it back to Hovens!

Awesome shop! Honest, Fair, Knowledgeable. We were traveling and our diesel truck broke down. Hoven's was the only shop (we called 3 other shops) that was willing to work on the truck the same day. Thank you Hoven's Automotive for getting us back on the road!

Hoven s is the best Diesel shop in the valley. They ve kept my Duramax running great, very reasonable pricing and do done right everytime I ve brought it in. Their aftermarket suggestions were also were spot on. They told me I needed a lift kit (fuel pump) before hauling was 100% right on.

Unbelievablly great people. Incredible prices and they stand by their work. They saved me from several nightmares. Use them. Holy smokes.I didn't think people like this existed anymore. They took out and dropped an engine in my desiel truck and explained everything in layman terms to me. They blew the competitions price out of the water which really saved my hiney to begin with. All the while they communicated with the parts store I had bought the engine from. When the turbo failed (luckily under warranty), they put a new one in from the parts place...which didn't work. So they communicated with the parts place and got another one, which was the wrong model. They finally convinced the parts place to get me a new one, ordered it and are going to drop it in essentially for free because the parts place won't pay them to do it twice even though it wasn't at all Hoven's fault. These guys are saints. They didn't charge me a cent for the extra FOURTEEN HOURS of labor to remove and install the new turbo. I don't know how these wonderful men did this but I am forever grateful.

They did everything they could to help me. They answered all of my questions and went that extra mile to assist me with extra manpower when they clearly had other things to do. I believe the crew can figure out what's wrong with your rig. I know they did mine when no one else had a clue. Lastly they will get it done.

I had a fuel pump go out on my '02 7.3L Diesel Ford, they had it fixed in a couple days, it was a little expensive $1,000 to be exact, but they did a good job and they had it done quick, and when it comes to these Ford Diesel trucks, you don't want to cut cost corners. Nothing's worse than dropping 44 gallons of diesel on the highway.
