I was traveling from the Grand Canyon to my home in Sacramento area and my car just died as I was heading into Bakersfield. It was late Saturday and did not know what would happen. I called around and no one would answer but Jesse. He was busy but was willing to come into his shop at 8 pm and work on my van. I had my van towed to his shop and he replaced the alternator and had me back on the road by 10:15 pm. Jesse was a life saver. I had my wife and our 3 kids in the van with me and was truly in a bad way. Jesse will always be my hero for saving my family. We didn't get home until 3 am but at least we made it home. He was great to work with and happy I found him.

The car wouldn t start. Got a jump from the truck. The car still wouldn t start. Bought a new battery and installed it myself. The car still wouldn t start. Called Jesse Mobile Auto Repair & Roadside Assistance in Bakersfield. I m in Tehachapi and he came out the next day. It took Jesse less than 10 minutes to redo my faulty battery installation. The car works fine now. Totally satisfied with the service.

Had an unfortunate event revolving the kiaboys. Was looking online for a mechanic where i came across jesse autoshop, and what more can i tell you besides the fact that this man really cares about his customers and go out of his way to make sure you don't leave with any doubts or disappointments. Jesse was very knowledgeable and caring any made sure you understood what was wronf with your vheicle so thankful this man worked on my car 100% would come back for anything!!! 10 stars if i could recommend that

My family went on a trip to kern river this past weekend. On the way down the hill coming into Bakersfield my ac quit. I stopped at the local gas station and noticed oil all over my engine compartment. Being a Saturday afternoon not many places were open. My son stumbled upon Jesse's automotive repair through a quick search. Luckily he was open and ready to repair my Tacoma. He cleaned it up and found that the camshaft sensors were leaking and later found the crankshaft seal leaking possibly due to the serpentine belt failing. He undertook this large repair Saturday night and was finished by bedtime. It was costly as it was a large repair (took 5 hours) but me and my family are thankful that he was there for us in our time of need. He s very friendly and professional. We got back home the next day(Sunday) two hour drive with no issues. In April I had issues with my 4runner while in Joshua Tree. There were no shops available there to help so I called Jesse's shop in Bakersfield. He was amazing on the phone helping me plan how to safely get my vehicle to a shop that was close to my location. I was actually able to get the vehicle to his shop where he diagnosed the issue and got me safely on my way back to SF. Thank you Jesse for your kindness, expertise and professionalism!

My family and I were stranded at the Tejon outlets. We were able to tow our mini van to Jesse's shop. By the time we got there it was 6:45 pm his shop closes at 7 pm. He stayed and worked on our van until 11 pm. My daughter has type 1 diabetes and we didn't have much insulin to last any more days on our road trip back home to SF. Jesse's Mobile Auto Repair provided exceptional service when our car broke down on a late Saturday evening during our out of town trip. Despite other mechanic shops in the area being closed, Jesse was willing to stay late and assist with diagnosing the extensive issues that our car was facing. I highly recommend Jesse's Mobile Auto Repair for their excellent customer service for going above an beyond to help me out when I had not other options. Thanks again Jesse.

I just had to have my 2009 Prius towed from the highway because there seemed to be a major issue with the battery on a Saturday afternoon. Jesse was able to diagnose and fix my issue by Monday, even though it was a holiday weekend, and even allowed pick up after hours so I was able to head back home safely and without paying too much. I would definitely recommend them

Jesse and his son really helped me out a couple weeks ago. I was stranded and had to get towed to Bakersfield. Jesse was able to replace my starter and he and his son stayed almost 3 hours after closing to help get me back on the road. Really appreciated his help and so far the car has held up and working fine. Thanks Jesse!

Jesse was very professional. He took my truck after I broke down in the area while trying to drive home to Colorado. He explained the problems on my truck with much clarity and was able to get it fixed quickly. I got back on the road in 3 days. My son was driving our Honda Odyssey from San Diego to Sunnyvale when he broke down in Bakersfield. The owner towed the car to his shop, did major repairs costing over $4000, claiming that it was bad gas and replaced the gas filter. Said everything was under warranty for a year. by the time the van was driven back to San Diego it broke down again. I took it to my longtime auto repair place and they found that the oil filter that was put in was defective. The owner said in order to honor the warranty I would have to drive the van, which is, of course, now broken again, back up to Bakersfield. He refused to honor his warranty , or offered to pay anything to repair defective filter. This business is a scam. Do not use if you have any other alternative. My regular mechanic repaired the filter and we have not had any further problems with the van.Service: Engine repair

I highly recommended this mobile mechanic! Jesse came out within and hour of me calling about my BMW not starting. He replaced my battery fast and got my car to start and checked it for any further issues. My BMW needed reprogramming so he referred me to someone he trusts to do the job. He even called that shop right then and there and asked them to help me out. He even noticed my car was low on gas and gave me some on the house! He was very nice and very knowledgeable and explained to me every step of the way what was going on with my car. If I m ever in need of roadside assistance I will absolutely give him another call. Our 12 year old car suddenly lost power and started to misfire coming north on the Grapevine. We called from the road, then got to Bakersfield and to the shop. We thought the problem was no spark in one cylinder.Jesse read the diagnostic codes, which showed a cylinder was misfiring. He then checked the plug and coil and showed me that they were working correctly. The next thing to check was the fuel injection. That was also working correctly. He also found that the oil level was REALLY low. At this point it was about 5 pm on Saturday, after his closing time. We discussed the options and decided that an engine restoration treatment was as far as we were willing to go, hoping that it might get us back to home, which was 600 miles away.He drove us to our hotel before going home to his family. On Monday he did the treatment and cleared the codes, but the check engine light came on during the test drive and the cylinder was still misfiring.The trade in value of the car was going to be low, the chance of getting home with the car was very low, and we weren't willing to spend either the money or time required to guarantee that we could drive home because we were planning to get a new car soon anyway. We discussed this with Jesse and he arranged to dispose of the car in Bakersfield.I feel that we were dealt with fairly and honestly. After we first got there another customer came in and we heard him tell her she would be better off to have a different shop look at her car. He told her they had specialized diagnostic equipment and it would probably cost her half as much to take it to the other shop. That gave me a good feeling.If I'm ever in Bakersfield again and need a mechanic I would definitely go back to this shop.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

On a Saturday when Jess's business was only opened till 4PM, this man and his son stayed until 9:30pm to fix my car. MY situation was bad! Fixing another mechanics mess was just not right, and me having to learn I was ripped off didn't feel good. He got my 2004 Lincoln going, showed me the parts replaced, which you don't see anymore, further more showed me what caused my break down, evidence of the rip-off. Honesty and good work is definitely getting harder to find in this type of business. WARNING-WARNING Bakersfield of the BAD-BAD WORK done by E__te on Fruitvale Avenue . I just lucked out that Saturday and I got to my destination, Louisville Kentucky with NO problems. Thanks Jesse

Excellent service! Jesse took real good care of my Camry when my power steering wasn't working. He worked quickly and I could hear and feel the difference when I drove away. He even took the time to explain the process to me and show me the parts he replaced. And the price was very reasonable for the great quality of work that he did. I chose him because of the great reviews and he lived up to my expectations.

My family and I were Saved by Jesse at Mobile Mechanic of Bakersfield. We broke down on our way home and needed an Emergency Roadside Service Diagnoses. Jesse made time for us and came to our location with his fully equipped worktruck with all the tools needed. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem, we needed a new Fuel Pump. Jesse and his wife are a great team and worked quickly to find the correct parts and we got all the work done that afternoon in just a couple hours. Great Family Business. Jesse truely knows everything about vehicles and it was reasurring to be helped by someone who really knew their stuff! They have very good pricing and they are wonderful at explaining everything before starting the work.This was one of the greatest customer service experiences we have ever had and this business has been such a blessing during an extremely stressful situation with our vehicle issues. 100% Recommend! Been going to Jesse for years, and will probably never go anywhere else. Jesse is always able to get my vehicle in quick, and does quality work for great value. And did I mention how quick he is?!Brought my car in last week for an engine issue. He had it fixed in five hours flat (where I was expecting to have to leave the car overnight/ over the weekend at the least), and was able to fix both the engine issue AND a leaky oil valve for a fraction of what other mechanics in town would have charged.Jesse is more than fair with his pricing, and is always looking for your best interests. He's honest, knowledgable, and gives a full and complete breakdown of costs and what services he will be doing BEFORE you sign the work order- contrary to what these other comments may say.Do yourself a favor and trust Jesse. I would not go to these guys. I was on a road trip and my AC stopped working, they took advantage of the situation and quoted $200 to just diagnose the problem and $320 to fill the refrigerant in, estimated $500 FYI the refrigerant costs $60 and takes 2 minutes to fill. I would avoid going here unless you re really looking to be ripped off. Go to JB instead

Jesse did brake repairs, oil change, A/C recharge, transmission service and an inspection on my truck in preparation for a cross-country drive. Everything was well done and completed in less than 3 days. This was much more than an auto tire replacement. It was an auto wheel, struts hub, knuckle, stabilizer bar, etc. etc. etc. replacement.! If you re reading this because your car broke down passing through the Bakersfield area and you re trying to find an honest mechanic that won t take advantage of you like I was, congratulations you ve found them!!!Jesse took good care of me and my ford expedition with a bad alternator, he was very transparent with the diagnosis and my options which built trust very quickly. I checked with my brother-in-law (who is a mechanic) about his pricing for parts and labor and he confirmed it was more than reasonable. Thanks again Jesse wish you and your business much success.

I recently took my truck in because it would turn off on us everytime we would come to a stop. He said he would charge us $95 just to diagnose, all he did was tell me the check engine light codes. I could have had that done for free somewhere else. He explained the check engine light codes and what needed to be fixed. So we agreed, he charged us about $600 for the first fix. As I am driving the next day my truck turns off on me again and the check engine light is back on. So I call Jesse and let him know, he told me to take it in so he can take a look again. Second time he inspects it he says the part he fixed is working fine and he has no idea what could be causing the truck to turn off. The check engine light was reading the same code he had supposedly fixed the first time. He checked to see if anything else was leaking and could not see anything. As he was showing my husband that there was no leaks my husband pointed out to him the leak was coming from the fuel area. What kind of mechanic let's that slip? A customer telling him how to do his job. So he says the fuel pump need to be replaced, so then we agree to get it replaced. There goes $800 for the fuel pump. He then calls us later on that day saying the fuel tank is leaking and needs to be replaced. So again we agree to get the fuel tank replaced, there goes another $1300 for the fuel tank.�You were suppose to tell me the problems it had the first time I took it to you Jesse, not after you fix the only thing you said was wrong with it. So our original quote of $600 turned into almost $3000 by the time he was done with the repairs. Not only that but after paying him so much my truck still turns off, and he can not deny this because he backed the truck up out of his shop and it turned off on him. After all this trouble he could not tell me why my truck was turning off. I took it in wanting to get that problem fixed, instead I feel like I'm back at zero with the problem. I also reached out to him because there was some stuff missing from my glove compartment. He wrote back saying he put my owner's manual back in the glove compartment, and yes it's in there but as soon as I asked him about the missing items he never replied. Sorry for the long review, but just stay away from this man. He takes advantage of people willing to pay good money to get their cars fixed. And yes I have receipts to prove it!Update: Thank you for your response Jesse, but I still have not heard where my missing items have gone?

Had my 2004 Honda Accord worked on by Jesse at Bakersfield Mobile Auto Repair. Had a lock actuator replaced and reprogrammed a new key for me. Recently replaced my thermostat and water pump. Did a good job both times. I recommend this business if you need auto repairs. The most honest and reliable mechanic I know. I only trust Jesse to work on my car(s). I refer all of my friends to him as well and they all agree that he s honest, reliable and reasonable. Jesse is an outstanding, thorough, personable mechanic. I have used Jesse s mobile service and his shop service, respectively, and he gets the job done in a reasonable time frame. He details the cost of service to the last cent. If he finds more issues with your car while he is repairing the approved service, he calls first and does not perform additional service without consent. That s good business. After Jesse services our cars, we have peace of mind because he fixes the problem correctly the first time. Go see him and you ll be happy you did.

So my tags were due and I had to get a smog to renew them. I went to a smog shop they failed me and when he explained why he said I couldn t really administer the test because it s an automatic fail due to blue smoke so I brought my car to Jesse and he did two different diagnostic test and my truck came back clear, he even went under the hood and checked it himself! The truck is older it s a 1999 Ford F 150 it belonged to my now deceased father but he kept it in good condition. My point is Jesse told me the truth, did a thorough investigation to find a problem and there wasn t one. I recommend him 10/10 he s honest, price is always affordable and he works with your budget and schedule. I can t make this stuff up he even gave me a discount because of the $60 I had already spent on a bad test. I don t write reviews but I appreciate his honesty and the lengths he took to help me. I took my truck to get smogged the next day and it passed, why? Cause nothing was wrong with it!Service: General repairs & maintenance
