This may be an odd review because it happened years ago, I d say maybe 2015 or more. I STILL think about the type of experience I encountered. Maybe because I just came from the dealer I go to for a minor service. A bit of facts, I no longer live in Covina I live out of state.I went to Raul s Auto Repair because the light on my dashboard appeared with a maintenance required didn t want to spend a lot of money at dealer (lol). Raul s mechanic ran a diagnostic test, came back that it was my catalytic converter (I could be wrong). Mechanic relayed that info to Raul, he came back to counter where I was, took out this large/long piece of metal from under desk (how convenient to have it there) and stated this is what needed replacement, per diagnostic. It would be over $500.I said I d think about it and I left.Went to Toyota dealership in Glendora. Their diagnostic said it was the FUEL CAP! Problem solved. How Raul and his mechanics sleep at night is beyond my understanding. Worse he has a poster or framed pic of the Virgin of Guadalupe by counter, or had.Just writing this review makes me so angry, makes me wonder how many of his customers he has cheated. I can t be the only one who has walked away. BTW I did leave a review back then, with no reply or apology. I guess I must have had a giant S orI on my forehead for stupid or ignorant.

I am extremely disappointed at how corrupt this place is. I took my car for coolant issues 5 months ago, the problem came back again and they did not honored their "warranty"! They did more work again and charged me again only for them to mess up my AC this time. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my AC when I took the car, once again they wanted to charge for something that they messed up on. DO NOT GO THIS PLACE!!Responding to your response:-I never spoke to anyone about the thermostat being "too much"- sounds a bit prejudice of you to make such a claim! I took my car to BMW and another shop and they never made that recommendation- happy to show you the receipts.-The car was not overheated, you did not mentioned that when we took the car and we added coolant to the car the night before. We drove for 2 miles to your shop, hard to believe what you are saying. Then again, I can show you receipts of this.Nevertheless, you will be hearing from me and the BBB.

I don't recommend this place to anyone. They overcharge you for anything. I'm pretty sure they get a small commission if they can get the customers to pay what they ask for. They were charging me 145 just to replace the brake pads on my car, something that is only a 30 minute job. I know many other shops that will charge between 80 and 100 dollars just to replace the pads. No turning of rotors needed and they wanted to charge 145, and to make matters worse, I was bringing my own pads. 145 is what I get charged at other places for pads that they provide. Don't go here if you can prevent it. Bunch of scammers and dishonest mechanics.

These person charge me a lot of money to fix my car and he did not do a good job. I took it to him 2 time and still did not get fix. I had another mechanic check it and I show him the receipt and what he charge me and the things he did not put on my car. That is what the mechanic said. He put the same parts. since I'm a female he took advange of me. never go there.

I brought in my 2017 Honda Civic to Raul s Auto Repair shop on 8/3/2022 to have the air conditioner diagnosed as it was not cooling properly. They diagnosed the issue and informed me there was some type of a coupling which had a leak and that it would cost $529 to have it replaced and Freon recharged. I inquired if they offered military discount, which they did not but agreed to completing the repairs for $475 if I paid full in cash.I picked up my car after they apparently had completed the required repairs, fixed the leak and recharged the unit and the air conditioner appears to work for about two weeks before it stopped cooking again.This time I took my car to Pasadena Honda and they properly diagnosed the problem as a leak in the compressor. I authorized Pasadena Honda to complete the repairs as appropriate and it has been working efficiently ever since.I normally don t write bad reviews, but I was cheated into paying for unnecessary work performed on my car and the shop owner has not responded to my several attempted contacts. Take your car elsewhere this shop will cheat you as well.Service: Air conditioning

Have been going to Raul's Auto repair both this one and the other one in Covina for about 3 years now. After having been scammed by a mechanic that we had trusted for years we were very put off and we're looking for an honest and decently priced repair shop for our bmw. Can't express how happy we are to have found Raul's Auto repair. It's the only place we go for any of our cars now BMW or not. The staff is friendly and while the staff in the arrow location is very efficient so they don't have time for much to chat lol they are still efficient and do excellent work. The other shop in Covina is smaller but again great staff wonderful service. I would highly recommend in fact I always do

Before you go to Raul s Mickey-mouse shop make sure you look at the low star reviews with detailed horrible experiences, and his bought 5 star reviews that have 1 sentence saying good work . Its a trend that can t be made up. Make sure you re ready to get the most expensive solution for something that s not needed on your Engine. I m actually surprised this place is still open with all the fraud that goes on in this company, they should be in jail for what they do. I got a brand new car since then after they jacked up my previous vehicle and will not even dare to bring it around Raul as he is known to charge you for stuff that s not needed on your vehicle! It won t get fixed and you ll be pouring money into his pocket before you know it. Simple thing to do is ask him to fix your car, it won t be fixed I PROMISE you.

This place over charges you so much. Better just getting the part yourself and going to a better mechanic. I would not recommend coming here ever again they bs so much I have called 2x and they said they will call back and never did so I went in myself. Too over priced when you can get so much better somewhere else. OVERPRICED AND OVER CHARGING.Service: Auto engine tuning

I turned to Raul's Auto Repair for one reason and one reason alone: It's outstanding customer service reviews and testimonials, since I didn't know their shop, nor did I know anyone who had experience with them. I was not disappointed. First of all I got a response to my email question within hours if not less. That's already remarkable. Steven, offered a free tow if I did repairs with them. They picked up my Jaguar on time and emailed me with first impression within the same day. I was quoted on necessary work and got reports as work progressed and related engine problems surfaced. Their diagnostics were sound and further quotes were reasonable. I had to leave the job unsatisfactory since further needed repairs exceeded my budget momentarily, but I would recommend anyone to try Raul's as their expertise and communication with the client is outstanding which gives a real peace of mind, while quotes are fair. I'd definitely come back and recommend you to give'm a try.

I went to a shop to get my transmission fixed because it was leaking. I had taken it to other shops to see if they could help but they all turned me down. Looked on google and found this shop. So happy I did. Kevin, the nicest dude, told me not to worry and, said that he would do his best to stop the leak. He took his time, took care of my car as his own and, not only help me fix that leak but, also help me resolve my other problems as well. He gave me a great price on all the repairs! I would give this place 6 stars!

The first thing is that they are so incredibly professional! The service is great. Raul and Steve are very easy to talk to and are very clear in telling me what they have to do in repairs, making them a trustworthy company I can rely on. This is especially important to me being someone who has been taken advantage of in past automobile dealings. They are always going the extra steps to actually show me on my troublesome vehicle what I might need repairs on in the future. They are quick, helpful to particular situations, and the pricing is very fair.

Raul has always been a mechanic you can trust and his crew is quick too. He knows that most of us need our cars and tries to make sure we re not stranded without it for very long. Even if your car has a list of things that it needs. He will tell you what has to be done now and what can wait till payday. I m happy to call him my mechanic

First things first, check the Yelp Review of this place and you'll find that it's 2/5 stars (for good reason) and I suspect many of these positive reviews are fake.Mike, the son of Raul (the business owner), mainly handles this place. As the son, I suspect that he has no incentive to provide quality service or work (he's not going to get fired) and it shows.I tried work with them for THREE weeks, every single day either leaving it at the shop to get it fixed or testing driving it, and the problem still is not solved. Here are things I noticed in my long experience with them:1) Mike genuinely could not care less about your car. I literally brought it in with a check engine light, and two days later when he told me to come pick up the car, I start my car and check engine light is STILL THERE. He didn't even check.Went I asked him, he just shrugged "Meh, I don't know. They said it was ready." I suspect that didn't even work on it for those two days.2) Mike is too lazy to care about customers. They have a "shuttle service" where they drop you off at home (which I initially thought was very considerate) has a drawback. You see, after they drop you off, they're supposed pick you back up. This is something the owner confirmed.But Mike doesn't want to do that. That's work. So he pestered me EVERY TIME (all five out of five times) to get myself an Uber. "Can you just get an Uber? Maybe you should get an Uber. Yeah, I think getting an Uber would be best."Raul, the dad, the owner, is even worse, but you can read my review at the other location for more on that. TL;DR Fake positive reviews, check Yelp, lazy son, horrible service, find a better place on Yelp.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, A/C installation & repair

Quality and Fast service and their trustworthy. I am a girl and no nothing about cars and they don't rip me off. I like the coupons we got in the mail, it saved me 20.00 and they work with your budget what's priority. If something doesn't work right, when I have brought it back with their work done they fixed correctly if I had a problem. I have been going for years now.

I came here to replace my intake manifold runner control that was stuck open! They returned my truck with two codes on and truck idealing bad my truck didn't have any of those issues! They supposedly checked and replace the previous installed part little did they know i live in front and never moved my truck for repair, after i told them how much to fix the new issue they said 980, turns out after i was inspecting they never connected the vacuum hose and Raul told me it was a whole other issue be careful with this money hungry guys they are theifs and will try to take you for everything i will be in touch with the better business bureau and with a lawyer . GO ELSE WHERE THEY MAKE MECHANIC LOOK BAD WITH THERE WORK.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I've been a long term customer at Raul's auto repair and have always had an excellent experience. They're always friendly, professional and very helpful. I don't know much about cars but they have always taken the time to explain everything in detail and I have never had to return because of a problem so I highly recommend Raul's Auto Repair to anyone.

No matter how far I move, I still choose Raul's Auto as my go to mechanic. I've gotten numerous cars serviced here, and each time they've have the most competitive prices and had the car back in my possession in faster time than any other mechanic I've worked with. I wouldn't trust my cars with anyone else.

To say the service I have acquired here has been good is an understatement. Excellence Of service has been astonishing from routinely tune up, oilChanges, break repair to engine repair has been amazing Raul serves with excellence. Highly recommend this auto shop if you are in the area and away I continue to recommend friends and family toThis shop execellent!

I called around before going to Raul's and no one else could replace the ignition in my VW Beetle. They Idid a great job and were fast. I would have given them 5 stars but I didn't because whoever worked on my car left grease hand prints all over the interior drivers door and seat. Other than that they did a great job!!

I had a disappointing experience with Raul, after he smog checked my car and ran diagnostics on everything, and charged me fully for this, his recommendations to pass smog check was to rebuild my engine and replace my catalicit for a cost around $3000.00 for a $2000 old car. I went to different auto repair, he replaced my punctured gas tank, then I passed Smog check smoothly for a fraction of RAUL'S estimated cost.

On September 28, 2016 I a G35 in for clicking noises probably originating from the suspension. I was told the cost would be $45 just to diagnose the problem but the amount could be used as a future credit if work was to be authorized. I agreed if I was allowed to bring in my own OEM parts online. Raul agreed hesitantly because the previous receptionist on the Saturday before said I could bring in parts that I could find for a better price.In today's day and age, I find it hard to believe someone like Raul still does not recognize the internet and the pricing available to customers. I have a business myself and I am frequently questioned if I will match prices. Initially my answer was no but I eventually changed my stance and agreed to match prices. I could do that to get the best value for my money and from the standpoint of the customers, they want the best value for their money too if they so request it. Raul's attitude completely changed from friendly to you're wasting my time because I'm not able to make money off of you for the parts that I can't charge at full price . He didn't say those words but you could read it all over his face and his tone and attitude.I should have known better to walk right out but I went through with it believing in the reviews of past customers. Big mistake, after leaving the car most of the day, I was called in to told that all the shocks had to be replaced as well as the control arms. I said to him, some of the control arms are brand new. Whats wrong with them? He then changed his story and said the upper control arms. I asked what was wrong with the uppers? Are they bent? Are the bushings bad? The answer was an evasive one, they're making noise, they need to be replaced . At the end of the day , I am confident Raul did not even do a thorough diagnosis and took the lazy easy way out by saying replace everything and still ended up charging me $45 for that lazy test drive.I took it to another mechanic about a week later and was told that the suspension bolts needed tightening. He tightened them and the noises disappeared. The shocks were in good condition, the arms were in good condition. What a lazy and greedy man for the half butt effort he gave for his wrong and inaccurate diagnosis. There was a definite breach of due care and a presence of negligence if not outright fraud.

I was well pleased with the service that I received and also on my car. The employees were very polite n knew what they were doing. Also I appreciate the respect they showed their employer as their boss. I felt at peace and comfortable with the workers. The Lord Bless them. Amen!

This place is Bad took my 2009 BMW cause it was making A squeaky noise. Raul told me the alternator had to be replace!! He use Napa brand all the time he told me he uses top of the line BMW parts had so many issues till I took it BMW Monrovia had to pay extra to Raul to get an exchange for the old alternator he installed. Now my car runs perfect!! He lies an use cheap parts an charges Dealers prices!! NEVER TRUST THIS GUY...

Rail and Steve were quite nice, forthright with what needed to be done and quick to service the issues to get me back on the road. The customer service in taking me to work and picking me up to get my car was truly appreciated. If I lived in this area, they would be my go to mechanic. For the time I am working in this area, I will count on them should the need arise

Rip off and stole money , they don t even work on the cars properly . They didn t even change the part that needed to be charged and made me pay over 2k . And they didn t even repair the car once I brought it back again , never do business here , they are scammers they don t even deserve 1 star

My parents and I have been going here for years. The employees always do a great job and are very nice. They always give good deals and don t rush their work. Quality has always been good from my experiences with them.
