Mark and Dave at Five Star Auto were extremely helpful. They helped me out with a tow and were great at updating me on the status of my car. They are quick, attentive and they obviously care a great deal about their customers. Highly recommend and will be back for future auto needs.

These guys at five star are fantastic. Great bunch of people they took me in when my vehicle was broke down got me right in and everything worked out just fine. They did a good job. If I could give you a 10 star I would, but it s only a five here so I ll have to settle with that

I've been with this company for many years and they've always treated me like family I take my car and get the oil checked on it quite a bit and Sam comes out and checks with no problem I'm very I'm very comfortable with them and they take time to let you know what's going on with your vehicle or my vehicle that's awesome and I will continue to take my vehicle there. This shop was so amazing and helpful. Purchased a used vehicle and had some unknown issues right from the start, they got me back on the streets in no time. Going to Five Star Auto for over 10 years at least once a year is like seeing an old friend. Always very friendly, reasonably priced, honest and the good job they do keeps my old vehicle on the road. Never any judgment on my not so neat interior and on occasion they have helped me get get to and from the shop. I always recommend 5 Star Auto. Taco Tree and Tractor Supply close by so if I decide to wait there, there's something to do, and something to eat

My Check engine light came on and my car was running rough. I Brought it to five star and they informed me that it was a bad coil. My current warranty was trying to say that the part was not covered due to it being a wearable part, however with the many thanks to Samantha she was able to get the to cover the part and all I had to do was pay for the labor of another part that was not covered. In all I am glad to know there are honest and fair auto shops like Five Star. I now have a new shop I will take my cars to knowing that they have my best interest.Thanks again Sam & Team!Service: Auto maintenance

What went well:- Got me in for a same-day appointment- Did the oil change at a very reasonable price- Checked belts, caught an oil leak issue, advised on next steps- Gave me a written estimate up front, and stuck to itWhat didn't go so well:- Asked for a code scan related to my prius's red "exclamation mark of death". This nearly turned into a $150 charge. When I asked about it, they told me that a basic code scan would be free, but that figuring out if the battery was the issue would cost that much. They didn't think that the difference was something worth discussing, they just handed me the bill and expected me to sign it. We scratched the charge off and they scanned the codes.- Told me the rear brake pads were low and needed replacing. Called another mechanic about this for a follow-up appointment, and they just laughed and told me, with how slowly prius brakes wear, that much pad would last a long long time. I both trust the latter mechanic more and this meshes better with what other mechanics have told me.- Rushed me through the appointment setup, didn't ask any questions (including about the $150 charge for what I thought would be a basic code check). I would've been fine punting to another day if they were squeezing me in and didn't really have time for me, but instead I felt ignored like they didn't think I'd care how much they charged. I did actually have some other minor things I wanted done, but given how they were treating me in the office, I didn't want to deal with asking them for anything extra.- Used conventional oil instead of synthetic, and didn't bother asking me. Previous oil was synthetic, and every mechanic I've talked to has recommended that. I can only take this as an effort to keep price down (they pass the oil cost straight through on the bill, I don't feel ripped off), but I wish they would've asked or at least stuck with the superior product... it's only a few bucks different overall.- Online appointment setup didn't work. That's fine, no other shop I saw had online appointments as an option... but if you're going to offer it, it'd be nice if it worked.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Had the control arm replaced in record time of any shop ever. Dropped my car off on a Monday late morning, and it was ready by 5 the same day! Excellent service & a fair price.

Terrible after $2000 they did nothing to fix the brake problem, when we left there was no change, still a fading brake pedal , they said oh replace the master cylinder if it's not right. After they were supposed to flush master cylinder which was never done but we were charged $97.00. Now we have had to take it to a reputable repair shop to fix the problem. I was a master repair mech, and a smog test and repairman for over 25 years but am now physically unable to do many repairs. If you don't care if you get ripped off go ahead and use them. We are now going to file a complaint to B.A.R.. I will NEVER use them and will be sure as many as possible are made aware of this shop.. I blame the unqualified mechanics they have hired, not the front office.. So disappointed. All they had to do was fix the problem, and they failed..Service: Brakes

I'm new in the area and have been trying various services. Five star is near my house. I took two vehicles in and have been entirely satisfied with the services. Fair, honest, friendly, and fast.

These people are amazing, they almost feel like family, and that's no joke. They're extremely honest, and they go out of their way to make their customers happy. I feel absolutely blessed to have them in our community. If you're short on money, they will tell you how to temporarily fix the problem with your car to get you by for a month. (If that's possible) they never upsell, and their turnaround time's incredible. I'm a fan, you can tell. Ask for Samantha when you call.

My two daughters and I were driving through the area and the alternator on my daughters car went out. We stopped and got a price from one place and it was outrageous and they said they would take more than a day! We called Five Star and they quoted us less than the other guy. We nursed the card down to Five Star and even though it was quitting time, the mechanic stayed late and got it done for us. They were very friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.

They are phenomenal.i took it in for a tune-up plus I was smelling burning oil when I arrived they embraced me in there shop right away. Strictly business there Sam in front was awesome. They will pick up drop you off there prices are fair. Totally would recommend my family and friends to 5 star

This auto repair shop makes you feel like family. Samantha in the front office welcomes you and makes sure that all your car needs are taken care of. The auto staff are reliable and trustworthy. Their process are very reasonable. This is the only place we take our cars.

This is the best ever to take your vehicle to get fixed . They are so talented in what they do and how they treat their customer me, like they are family they took care and looked for all Ways to see what the problem was and fixed it Five Stars is a big Blessing and they made me feel Blessed so what I'm trying to say is go to Five Star Auto care Auburn ca thank you, you all are for real I'll be back if I have any other fixes.

Jay at Five Star Auto Care took great care of our car when it broke down onHighway 80. We were traveling through the area and needed major engine repairin a hurry. He ordered a rental car for our trip to Lake Tahoe and completed thenecessary repairs within two days. His staff even drove to the dealership inRoseville to pick up the parts so that our car would be ready when we needed it.Thanks again for your great service!Carolyn and David

Overcharged my air conditioner on a 60k mile service... It s been ruined since. I wasn t positive that they were directly responsible until talking to a local elementary school teacher at the end of the school year who was complaining about her AC going out after a similar basic service. I wasn t surprised when hearing where she had taken her car. Basically, I paid $780 for a service I could have done on my own, and as a bonus, countless commute hours in a hot, sweaty hell.

I booked a appointment over the phone for a smog check. Had a apt a half hour later. 1st time. Nice warm office hot coffee. Fast smog check test time. Nice people thank you for the test passed an was able to register my car.

5 Star is simply the best! Mark and Jay are stand up guys and run one of the last,completely honest auto repair businesses. I have been using 5 Star since 2004 and they have done nothing but take care of me and my family.They have my highest recommendation.Cheers!

I had a very good experience today (03-27-13) at 5 star. The manager Jay was very helpful, he checked my engine light for free!! and gave me some advice on how to self solve the problem and also gave me a best & worse case on the problem and price. And refered me to another shop that fixed my stereo problem for free(bad fuse lol) as well. I was very impressed with his attitude and his willingness to help.

Have been coming here for 3 years now for all my cars. Service is great. They always share options and cost before scheduling service. Zero stars. Travelling through that area and my engine threw a code. Right before christmas. Didn't have time to research and fix myself. It was the Massive Air Flow sensor and they charged my over 300$ to fix a 50 dollar part and about half hour of labor. I'd pass this shop if I were you.
