Lost my key to my car, and it got broken into. Gabriel was phenomenal! Would definitely recommend. A 1A Preston lock shop to anyone who has a need!! Prompt and professional!

I have used this company successfully many times in the past. When I called this time I advised company that I needed a set screw on a lock to my back door. The service guy not only did not bring a set screw, he told me that it had a left and a right aspect and that he would need to get the correct-facing handle but that his brother was ordering one. [And, yet, door had worked with the absent setscrew for a couple of years.] A month later, still cannot use that door.To make matters worse I asked him to rekey the lock to my office door. It is a combination lock because my employee and I both use door and we usually have our arms full. The lock was not broken, all he had to do was rekey...now, the combination mechanism is ill-fitting and it is impossible to use as the entire lock is sunk in and no longer fits. It is easier to just purchase another lock than to deal with this company.The "old" guy [I'm 78 so I can say that without it being derogatory] who used to own this company and provide service knew exactly what he was doing. This serviceman, not so much.I started with two entrance doors which worked plus one door which was missing a set screw. Now only my front door works and it is a considerable distance from where I park my car and I still have a door missing a set screw!

Ever since this business changed hands, it has gone downhill. Not open, no excuses.... rude on the phone. My business will be taken elsewhere.... sad. The older owners left it to lazy people.

Honesty means a lot. I appreciate the team providing excellent customer service. I thought I needed to get a new push to start key programmed. Gabriel checked my current key and safely showed me how to open it and tested my battery with a tool that showed the battery life. After all that I just needed to change the battery. His honesty saved me money since I didn't need to get new key programmed. I definitely will be coming back to check my other key. Again, thanks for the honesty.

This is a hard working family owned business. They are super helpful and have the most amazing customer service. Quite a busy little place, but they make sure to help all customer as fast and as much as they can. We worked with Gabriel and his son's to get our key made fit for our ignition, and they have done super phenomenal job. Thank you so much! Satisfied customer. Totally recommend this locksmith here.

I needed a remote for my car.. But my car was being stubborn.. It didn't want to be programmed.. the owner and his two sons went out of their way to help me .. they tried everything ,and when they couldn't help me they sent me to somebody that did help me. The other business was United Auto Repair. I Just Want To Praise these two businesses for helping me in my time of need.. They are very kind and caring people. And I would definitely recommend both these businesses to anyone who needs any kind of Automotive work or keys made.. Thank you

Absolutely the worst hired to program a remote didn't fully program it and now it doesnt work at all , i was told i needed a key cut to fully program the fob so i had to get them a code gave them the code i had to get from Acura they cut the wrong key that wont fit the fob or come out of ignition now im stuck with a key stuck on acc 1 having to disconnect the battery every time i use my car to keep my new battery from draining all they can say is its my car that has issue and deny any faults on their part. Owner and son use same poor tactics of blaming the customer and their auto denying all or any fault or wrong doing on their part wouldn't trust them with a lost file cabinet key .. Father told son not to take my calls

I love this place! Good old fashion, friendly service. She made me a spare key for my car in five minutes and it didn't cost an arm and a leg like the dealership wanted to charge me. I am a customer for life.

Needed a key fob programmed for an Alfa Romeo. They weren't sure if they could but we're willing to try it. Service was outstanding and the price was very reasonable. Always great when we can get this service from a small local shop instead of the outrageously priced dealer. My new key fob works great!

Good place to go for all your key needs? ..to my mom there last week to get a knew key made for her suv, they came out to the house to bring her knew key, she was very pleased and so was I? ..I was tired of being the chauffeur? ...Lol.Anything for mom she's getting older and from time to time she in pops need a little help it's all love.

They replaced my ignition a couple of months ago and they came to my place in Merced to do it. They were on time and fixed it faster than I thought it would take. I recommend this shop to anyone who needs some help with their ignition. They charged me a lot less than the dealership (I bit more than 50% off the price that the dealership was charging).

Excellent people very friendly and their prices are just so affordable. Will recommend them to anyone and everyone I know, will definitely be business here in the future. There are no words I can think of to express how I feel about the OUTSTANDING Service from A-1-A to do it justice. She SAVED me. She was so sweet and wanted to help me from the moment I stepped in the door. Going here I SAVED $300. Not to mention Towing fees. I highly recommend this place if you have any key issues this is the place to go. Everyone else is just trying to get every dollar you have. To tell the truth I started to cry in the store because she was just so amazing. I hope you guys see this because I want to say from the bottom of my heart Thank You SOOOO Much.

I lost my car keys and needed someone to reprogram and cut a new key for me. The dealers was extremely expensive and as a college student I could not shell out that kind of money. Art was extremely kind and helpful and was able to make and program a a new set of keys for me the same day. He drove to where my car was parked and made me keys then and there. Lisa and Art were very understanding and I paid a fraction of what the dealer was asking for. I highly recommend to anyone!

This place provides great service. I had a very good experience with them and would recommend others if they have the same issue as I did. I had lost my car key and had to order new ones. I was looking around the area for anyone who could reprogram the new fob and I called a few places nearby. I called A-1-A and talked to Art over the phone. Great guy, he told me that they can reprogram the key and can do it the same day. He came over and within half hour or so he was able to reprogram the new key and get the car started. The new key works like original key.

A really nice lady helped me for a replacement key for my mailbox! She did a great job! They have a huge selection of keys. I highly recommend this Lock Shop. :) Location is also easy to find.

Hella of an excellent service and experience with Art. He was able to VIN match my lossed key and came out to my address to program and be able to drive off with it. No one else in merced has this service. I recommend this locksmith to anyone in the county of merced.
