We took our Atlas to the Volkswagen dealership in Santa Maria, to fix a problem of the car shutting off at slow speeds and having to manually restart, they said they duplicated the problem, but could not fix anything because there were no codes showing. I then called Bavarian Auto Haus, and Ben was extremely helpful in researching my problem and concluded what the underlying cause may have been. We took the car to Bavarian Auto Haus, and they pulled out the part, and it didn't seem to look suspect, but, Ben suggested replacing it regardless, as all of the research was pointing to this problem. We had them replace the part, and the car is finally fixed and no longer showing that problem. The people who work at Bavarian Auto Haus were very professional, and dedicated to solving the problem with our car.

They seem to be very busy shop. I appreciate them responding and having an appointment relatively quick, I brought my g500 and told them to check everything and fix anything that they find. We haven't driven that car in months, so we definitely needed oil change, steering wheel fluid top off, etc.(this service not brought up and thus was not done). Told them there's definitely a battery problem (they address this) electrical issue with the front seats (they ordered the parts, but they still couldn't fix it), and told them the car sometimes acts up and won't drive even when its on "D", they had my car for a little over two weeks and they said they couldn't find anything wrong related to this issue. Unfortunately, we need to find some place else for our car.

World class customer service and repair work. The team stayed 5 minutes late to help facilitate my car pick up.

I have a car, a VW Jetta 2014 SportWagon and we had it serviced at Bavarian Auto Haus. My wife was planning to drive across the country to Ohio in that car with our two young kids. My wife took the car to the shop while I was working to make sure everything on it was ready before the trip and get an oil change. Three days after the service (1 day before the long trip) I found, by accident, a pond of motor oil in the garage on the floor. My wife was in town with the vehicle and the car spot was empty so I was able to notice the oil leak and I could not believe it. I called her and asked her to stop driving immediately because the pond of oil was that alarmingly large. Once I got the car back home I looked under it and found that a drain bolt was finger tight. It was Saturday evening and the next day early in the morning our car was driving to Ohio already.I do not have any words for this. I told them about the long trip. There is no excuse. I just imagine how my wife would have driven the car running out of oil if I have not caught it and ended up stranded somewhere with our two young kids. I am incredibly disappointed. I am sorry to write this review for Eric but I think I have to. I believe that just some young mechanic forgot to tighten the bolt but there should be some QA standard kind of a check list before they taking cars down from a car lift.

My experience here was phenomenal. Firstly, when I came in, there were 4 other ladies sitting in the waiting area as well as two cute dogs. That helped my anxiety lessen already. As I sat there, I chatted with the ladies and some shared with me how they came to be life long customers there. It was such a relief to hear their stories. From what I heard and experienced this shop has great customer service and goes the extra mile to work around their customers needs. After about 10 minutes of letting the car run the owner came in and said, yep, it's smoking bad. I think I know what the problem is and I have the part to fix it.I can't tell you the feeling of relief it was to hear that! This was the fourth repair shop I've been to, to fix a major smoking from the tailpipe issue.I even went to a VW specific dealership for their diagnosis and repairs that didn't fix the issue. (But the repairs were still necessary for general long-term maintenance, ((mass air flow sensor, decarb, spark plugs etc)) which I'm huge on, so I wasn't mad just really bummed and worried that it didn't fix it.)This shop had my car diagnosed, repaired and out on the road again within an hour!!!!I've been feeling bad about polluting the air and myself and just stressed about this for months, hoping it didn't break down and I could afford whatever the fix was when I finally found out.The problem turned out to be a worn seal. It was So much better than what some shops had me worried about it being. (Thousands of dollar repair guestimates, pending more expensive testing and time with no promises )I am amazed, eternally grateful and impressed at their knowledge. They really know cars! They also taught me some things specifically about my engine I had no clue about that is pretty important for it's maintenance. I'm so thankful. If you have a foreign car or a tricky problem, go see these guys.If you want to feel assured of good materials being used for general maintenance, you can feel good about going here as well because they're big on quality. (They're also ASE certified!)The owner is hands on with all repairs that come through. He's a quick thinker, good teacher and bluntly honest. I like that. Especially in a mechanic.I wholeheartedly recommend this place and their work. They're busy for a reason. Make an appointment, it will be worth the wait!

Sorry to say my experience wasn't good. They performed an unauthorized $250 test because my check engine light was on and then handed me a list of maintenance work that needed done. I guess they didn't hear me when, before I left, I told them that a record of maintenance was in the glove box. Most of the items they suggested be done were a part of that record and dome less then a year ago. They were great at the old location in Shell Beach. I guess integrity didn't move with them to their new location.

We were visiting from afar and had found that the AC on our MBZ had not performed as well as it should during our drive to the Central Coast. I called in the morning and was able to bring it in that afternoon. Eric diagnosed the problem accurately and got our AC system recharged at a reasonable cost. He also identified another potential problem which he suggested that I keep an eye on. Friendly service and fair prices seem to be the way that they operate here.

Had a check engine light on for awhile. Couldn't get it smogged because of this. Had our BMW sitting in the driveway for months.Called Bavarian Auto Haus, they said bring it in. Dropped the car off about noon or so. Had it back at 4:45. They had the part it needed in stock and where able to fix it immediately. When we picked it back up the check engine light popped back on in the parking lot when I started it.They immediately took it back in the shop and 5 minutes later we had our car back, sans check engine light! Idled beautifully (when the light popped on 8 months ago, it started to idle rough. Still ran and it was very mild, but we could tell something was wrong). We drove it around to a couple places in town, and then my wife took it to Bakersfield. Still no check engine light! They also diagnosed an oil leak, and although we haven't had them fix it (yet), we will be bringing our beloved Bimmer back to have them do the pan.You won't go wrong here. After the nightmares a coworker told me they experienced at the dealer, I was afraid to take it there. After my experience here, I won't take it anywhere else. Thanks Eric and crew!!!!!

Got me in and out, and then got they got my smog done right next door. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, perhaps the best staff member is the white German sheapered cruising the waiting area keeping everyone company.

I have been going here for over 15 years and my only regret is I didn't find them sooner. I hesitate to say how great they are because it might interfere with my ability to get future appointments. But... here goes... Never go to the San Luis Obispo dealer unless it's a recall thing and free. This place is honest, straight forward with no b.s., and if you're thinking of buying a BMW, have them check it out first. They know the issues with different things in different years. I trust them 100%.

Bavarian Auto is the absolute best for German cars in the Five Cities area. Eric and his employees are top notch. There is none better in Arroyo Grande and the rest of Five Cities when you need maintenance or repair work done to your German made automobile. Highly recommended by most anyone that has received service from them.

I took my car to another European car repair shop in the area for several years and they never solved my problem. Eric knew what to do with my BMW 633CSI and made the repair immediately. He knows his BMWs. Great mechanic and very reasonable.Ed J. Muraski, Ed.D.

Eric is the best BMW "Meister Breif" qualitymechanic I have had since I lived in Germany, fair and reasonable and will not pad your service bills as many dealers do. I know, I have imported or owned many Bimmers for 49 years now and Eric can be trusted without question.

Speedy service, professional, and priced competitively for European cars. My GF's CLA 250 needed an oil change and Service B. Barvarian did it for a third of the price of the MBZ dealer and did it quickly. Dropped it off in the morning (with little notice) and in a few hours it was ready. We will be getting all her service done here for now on. Highly recommend.
