Brought my old 2000s Camry in because of a pretty serious oil leak. Joe and his team were kind enough to show me the problem up close, gave me options to help fit my budget, and worked hard to fix all the issues at the same price as the quote.Real nice guy, sweet dog, and very reliable service. Not the first time I ve brought my car in, and definitely not the last.Always feels good driving home from Joes.Thanks guys!

Last year my car would not start, Joe and his team worked hard to figure out the issues and get it working. Since then I have come back to get oil changes and new brake pads. They have good fair prices. And a lovely dog that you can pet and throw a ball for while you wait.

Seems like these folks don't know much about what they are doing. Long story short, don't go here. More detailed version:I went in to have them fix a GMC safari power steering box. I had previously gone to get an alignment with someone else and they told me it was broken. Joe's shop took it apart and then told me they didn't have the right part. I had to wait overnight when the job should have only taken a few hours. It wasn't a huge deal but was inconvenient because I live out of this van rn. Luckily I have friends. The thing that really irritates me are the next two things. Firstly, I picked up the van and the steering wheel is 45 degrees off center. They didn't have an explanation except a shrug of shoulders. They even said maybe it was like that already, insulting my intelligence. It was obviously not like that before. Then they offered to try an alignment but at that point I had lost faith in them and left. I will get it aligned with someone else and hope this fixes it. Secondly, I saw a day later that there was a note on the receipt that I couldn't read all the way. Turns out they had broken off an entire part of the shaft cover. They did not communicate that to me, except with an illegible note. When I called, his response again was super frustrating. He told me I probably don't need it anyways and that he didn't break it but that it just broke off. Super frustrating service and a really good reminder of why I usually do the work on my van myself.

Joe supervises a less experienced mechanic Ronnie they attempted to replace front axels on my Toyota did one side but couldn t disassemble the other Car vibration worsening daily feels like my car is on its last leg can t help but hold them responsible for this mess went ahead with $500. Brake job putting good money after bad on the same ticket I guess this happens to the best of mechanics perhaps they are not the best of mechanics?Service: General repairs & maintenance

Joe was very upfront and honest. I really appreciated that he was concerned about cleanliness. He sprayed down my car with Lysol before he worked. Also, he quoted me $400 for the job and it was done early and only ended up costing $225. I'll never go anywhere else. I am extremely satisfied.

Friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy and efficient service. I came in for an oil change and was very pleased. He also took the time to look my car over for obvious impending safety or mechanical concerns, but by no means appeared to be looking to 'sell' me on added services. Bonus points for a well mannered friendly shop dog. I will definitely return here if I need anything else done while I am in this area.

I am new to town, a single mother who relocated here from New York a few months ago. It is extremely valuable to have a mechanic I can trust. I swung by Joe Mello's shop when my car's check engine light had been on for a while and the car was doing some strange things. Joe promptly took the time to give me and the car careful attention and began to assess the problem. Joe and his staff did quality diagnostic work and have found some issues that need to be addressed. I am happy to begin a good relationship with a long-time, trusted provider in the community. Joe was so helpful with fixing my car. I was driving through town when my car started acted funny. Joe got me right in!! Fast, fair, and very good. I definitely recommend him! 5 stars!

I have used Joe's auto for over 10 years and have been extremely pleased. Joe does great work and stands behind it. He is honest as they come and won't take the job if he can't do it right. Highly recommend him.

My old Toyota Tacoma isn't pretty. But she's been paid for for almost 20 years and I'm going to keep driving her thanks to Joe. I'd always gone to the dealer in Eureka, but the last few times it was like they didn't want to work on a truck that old and kept hinting that I should go look at something newer on their lot. Then when my radiator hose failed while I was in Arcata, a friend suggested I call Joe. My Tacoma was a couple of mile from his shop (all the fluid had come out and I didn't want to drive it) and he came out to where I was parked, diagnosed the problem, went and got a new hose and came back with tools to fix it on the spot! That's service.Since then I always go to Joe. He's replaced my clutch (for way less than the dealer quoted), fixed my window crank, done my tune-ups and oil changes, fixed a leak in my differential. And best of all, I get to visit his precious dog Kazzi when I'm there. She's the best pooch and Joe is the best wrench.

VERY GREEDY!! Took my car in to get a new set of brakes and he wanted way to much money for them, so I told him I was going to go somewhere else. He then CHARGED ME 20$ for him putting my car up on the lift to look at my brakes. Money hungry smiley glad hand if you ask me. Oh and before we even talked about a price he explained to me that if the brakes or roaders malfunctioned, it's not his fault and that I would have to pay for everything to get redone myself. He definitely covers his hind on making sure he gets all of his money!p.s. the dog had NO water in water bowl.. gave the sweet pooch some of my own

Joe a little rough around the edges but awesome! Did my work for exactly what it was, unlike the people in Rio Dell that let me drive with a disabled vehicle! Trust these guys!

So this doesn t even deserve a 1 Star.... it deserves 0 stars.... I came in for an oil change, and my oil pan ended up becoming cracked, but it wasn t before... also, he was also very rude and when I went back to complain he didn t know what I was talking about. Also tried saying he didn t do an oil change on my type of car.. also didn t give a receipt either..

Absolute worst mechanic in town. Could not recall any details about the repairs he made to my vehicle, was actively rude to customers while at the shop. Seems like an amateur mechanic despite his age
