Awesome shop. I was just passing through on my way to Tahoe when a cloud of white smoke showed up in my rear view mirror. I could not have gotten an luckier with where this happend. I limped it into the Shop and Zack had the issue diagnosed, repaired, and me back on the road within 90min.

The only garage I trust for 25 years. Now and again we get an estimate from a tire store or from our car s dealership for work that needs to be done. I bring the estimate to Applegate Garage and Zack tells me the truth! Oh the money I have saved! Just today Les Schwab told me I needed $1000 worth of parts and labor. Zack showed me how I can get the parts online for $30. he said it s such an easy job he ll install it in five minutes for free.

We were visiting from Wyoming and our check engine light come on. Zach was able to do a quick diagnostic on our truck and explained what the problem was. We didn't need any repairs at that time, but he encouraged us that our trip back to Wyoming in our truck would be safe. He was very professional and if we lived in California we would definitely go to their shop for service.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I highly recommend this business. Everyone was so nice and professional. Zach did my smog/emission test even thou I didn t have an appointment and almost closing time. After that he even clean my battery terminals, pointed out leaks on my radiator hoses and my bad tires that need to be replace. I appreciate your concern. Such a nice guy!Services: Auto emissions testing, Smog certification

This is a great, friendly, helpful garage that you can trust. Zach and Brian explained all the details of my Jeep's problems in detail and took time with me to explore all my options. When my trailer had an issue leaving, they ran out to help and got me going again. I really appreciate and most highly recommend them!

If I could give more than five stars, I would definitely give Applegate garage a million stars. They have saved me money; when other Auto mechanics said I needed to replace parts, that didn't need replacing. I 100% trust Zach and his crew.

I have taken my car here a number of times over the last few years and overall it s one of the best mechanic shops around. They don t charge outlandish rates, are always upfront about the work they re doing, and never try to sell unnecessary work.Their most standout quality is their exceptional customer service. All the employees are kind and welcoming, and always willing to help you out regardless of what work you vehicle needs.I will definitely be back if my vehicle needs more work!

Great place for car repairs. You know that anxiety you get, wondering whether your mechanic is being honest or just trying to get a bunch of $ from you? Well, you can check that off the list. Honest, thoroughly knowledgeable, reasonable rates (better than many in the Auburn area) - it's the trifecta that is so necessary and so hard to find!

Was traveling to Tahoe and had a blowout on my boat trailer. I showed up at their place before they were even open and they helped me get my spare off my trailer and replaced the blown out tire. Then they called Plaza tire for me in Colfax and got me lined up with the right size tires. Ended up replacing all of them made it to Tahoe for my boat inspection on time. After Applegate Garage did all that for me they would not even except cash from me or any payment. It was an absolutely unbelievable experience and was super appreciative of their help. Would also like to think the guy that saw me on the freeway and told me to go to Applegate Garage.Service: Tires

Zach and the crew are fantastic! Finally found a great honest mechanic. They are worth the 40 minute drive. I ve had them tackle small projects like smog and brakes to larger projects like transmission and full motor swaps. Best shop I ve ever worked with!

Honest,Reliable, Knowledgeable staff. Very detail oriented and they take the time to SHOW you as well as explain what needs repair and why. Labor very reasonable. You will leave this garage feeling secure about repairs and know you were not ripped off! Zack Brian & Sharron are all awesome people!

Zach, Sharon, Brian and all the rest of the employees are AWESOME!! Can't believe I didn't start taking my vehicles to them sooner!!!! I have always heard nothing but wonderful things about them since moving to the Foothills and they are all true! Won't take my vehicles anywhere else as long as I am in this area.

Zach and his crew saved my skin! Honest shop that truly cares about their customers. Had a wheel bearing go out on my way back to Utah and was lucky enough to stop by their shop. Did NOT overcharge me and got me back on the road as quickly as possible! They kept me involved in the repair and provided great explanation of the root cause of my repeat failure. I really appreciate the way they run their business and would recommend them to everyone! Thank you again Zach, you guys rock!

Zach and his crew are top-notch. Very contentious and always make sure to do their best to get the job done right. We are very lucky to have them take care of our 4 older vehicles, (our 2 sons are in college and we have to squeeze as many miles as we can out of these cars). The best moment was when they fixed my Nissan about a year ago. I'm always looking for the least expensive way to go, so they used a rebuilt part. When the re-built part they used failed just a few months later, Zach insisted that "that repair should have lasted at least a year to 2 years minimum!" and then proceeded to fix it again free-of-charge, which included using a newer part. I did not ask for or expect him to do that. (And it was kinda cute how indignant he got, he really takes pride in getting it right.) I've had rebuilt parts from other mechanics fail before, but they certainly never took it personal and certainly never insisted on fixing it again for free. After that I told Zach he had a customer for life, (He already did, but that sealed the deal). If there's such thing as karma, they have a lot of good karma coming their way.

Zach and the rest of the team are fantastic at Applegate Garage! I was traveling up the hill, at just the beginning of my multi-state move. My truck overheated and I consider myself lucky it happened right around the corner from Applegate Garage. I checked the things I knew to check but wanted a second opinion, so I took it over to Applegate Garage to get looked at. I was from out of town and being charged an arm and a leg was something that I was definitely afraid of but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry. Zach checked it out himself and topped off my coolant with some water- No charge! It may sound silly to some but It really meant a lot to me. Later, when the radiator finally kicked the bucket (about 10 more miles down the road, heading up I-80) I was able to limp my truck back to Applegate, they checked that there weren't any bigger problems like a blown head gasket or something else and verified that it was the radiator. Despite wanting to give Applegate the reward for their work and be able to pay them something I was candidly told that they were so booked they wouldn't be able to get for a coupe of days. They could have easily told me "Oh yeah we'll get to it as soon as we can" and strung me along but they didn't. They were honest and valued my time as well as theirs so they got me going enough to get back to Sacramento to get to a shop. I still wish I lived closer so that I could have more repairs and services to be done so that I could support their business but unfortunately this is the best I can do- If you need a repair and you're in the area, go to Applegate, they'll treat you right.

I have a 1st Gen Toyota 4Runner, fully restored; somewhat of a "classic vehicle." Applegate garage is the only shop it will ever set a wheel in. The knowledge and expertise of their techs is unparalleled, and they have my absolute trust. My family has been coming to Applegate garage for over a decade and have always trusted and respected the mechanics. Zach is so knowledgeable and has a good kind way with people and cars. Applegate Garage is a great place to take your car or truck. I just got an oil change and it was done quick and no hidden fees or charges. Thank you Zach!

Went in late afternoon and told Beau I had a nail in my tire...he not only dropped what he was doing..fixed it and charged me nothing. You just don t expect that these days and I have high regards for their integrity.I ll recommend them in a heartbeat.

When I didn't pass smog I was forced to go to a Smog Certified mechanic. A friend of mine's regular mechanic recommended Applegate garage. Save for me that I needed a new catalytic converter. After $650 I got the car back, but suddenly none of my locks Works automatically anymore, and neither of my windows on the right side. Neither of my key fobs worked. As expected, they denied culpability and reluctantly gave me a free diagnosis in which they claimed it wasn't their fault. Their answer was that two separate door modules went out at the same time. they claimed that there was nothing they could do till late into December and would cost me $450 a piece. I found them at an auto dismantler 10 minutes later for $75 a piece. Also, my monitors are still not working so I'm still at square one from the day that I didn't pass smog. For all I know they didn't help me at all. I have called the dealer since and they are telling me it is probably something else and that I should bring it in for a $350 diagnosis. As far as I can tell bringing my Jeep there only hurt me! I am in the process of calling the Better Business Bureau and reporting to Yelp. Hopefully this will get them to do the right thing, but I doubt it. Please stay away!

My truck was misfiring on 180 and I pulled into their garage without an appointment around 10:30 am on a Friday might I add. They knew I was stranded and they were completely slammed but they took me in anyway. This business not only excels in their profession, but there is a definite personal side that is so rare to find these days. My problem was diagnosed and I was back on the road that afternoon. Every detail of the repair was explained to me and this was not an easy job, I was amazed at how quickly they fixed my truck.These guys know what there doing can't recommend them enough. Thank you Applegate Garage for a stress free Friday!
