I do not have access to a car and have been practicing driving only with driving schools. Before taking lessons with ADVAN driving school, I had taken ~10 hours of lessons with a different driving school, and then another 18 hours with ADVAN before passing the test. I enjoyed my lessons with ADVAN driving school because Dereck is the only instructor so there is consistency in what I am practicing across all lessons. Dereck is also very clear in pointing out my mistakes and what I should have done instead and I could feel my improvement and increase in confidence across the lessons, with zero practice outside of driving lessons. The communication with the school was also very clear and smooth in scheduling lessons and the driving test.

I started looking up different driving schools in the area. I found ADVAN Driving School had a lot of good reviews. I had a few friends who took Derick as there driving instructor. They recommend him along with going on reviews. Derick is an amazing instructor. He tells you what you are doing wrong and how to fix the mistake next time. He was so patient with me. I ask a million questions and even repeated I'm an overthinker. Thank you so much Derick for teaching and being so patient with me!! Carly is amazing with scheduling appointments she is very accommodating. Everything is done thru text group. I recommend this driving school to everyone now!

With no driving experience under my belt, I applied to this driving school with the goal of obtaining my driver's license. This driving school, accompanied with my instructor, Derek, were more than enough for me to pass my driving test. With a couple of lessons here and there throughout a few months, I was able to completely grasp the concept of driving. Derek was very instructive and able to easily explain all the rules of the road along with tips and tricks for a better driving experience. Overall, I highly recommend driving with this school and I can guarantee that you will be able to pass the driving test if coupled with hard work and dedication.

I had no prior driving experience going into the lessons and was unable to practice at home, but after a few sessions, I was able to pass the driving test first try. Instructor Derek is a great option for people near Alhambra.

I got my driving license in California within a month .. Instructor Dereck is very knowledgeable when it comes to driving. His friendly attitude makes me feel comfortable and learning experience enjoyable. We chose Advan Driving School based on the google review and we were very happy that we chose the right driving school.

I got my license in just 3 lessons with Derek!!! He is very clear on instructions and is very knowledgeable on what will be covered on the driving test. Really recommend hitting up Derek for a drive. :)

I genuinely enjoyed my experience with ADVAN Driving School. They have a great and organized scheduling system through Carly, and the instructor, Dereck was very insightful and truly cared for the student's well-being. The instructor gave a lot of great, helpful tips during the practice drives and also before the actual driving test. The instructor also conveniently comes and picks you up at the location of your choice. Everything was provided so that the student can focus 100% on driving and have a fun and educated learning experience.

Derek, my driving instructor, was very upfront and assertive when instructing, but in the most helpful way. I was able to pass my test (with 3 marks). His instructions are thorough and throughout the lessons I slowly, but surely, gained more confidence in my driving, as well as decision making on the road. Highly recommend this instructor! :D

If you re looking to pass your driving test with flying colors, then this is the school for you. I recommend this place based on their instructors (especially Derek). If you have him as an instructor, guaranteed you are learning from the best as long as you listen to his stern instructions and be able to receive his strict criticism. Those traits are exactly what you are looking for from an instructor , because that is how you know they are putting a lot of attention and effort so you can pass your exam and get on the road as a licensed driver. I improved a lot learning from him and made me aware of my bad habits. He s also very friendly and will start conversations with you, which made my driving lessons more enjoyable than a silent dry driving course.

This place is definitely worth it. Instructor Derek was very intuitive during the practice appointments. He was also quite friendly and we had engaging conversations during practice. ADVAN Driving also has flexible scheduling that you can work around. The instructors pick you up at a location of your choice. I managed to pass my driving test with only 1 minor error! Overall, I would recommend their services.

I highly recommend ADVAN Driving School! Derek is an awesome instructor! He definitely has an eye for details he ll tell you exactly what you re doing right and wrong, and he has amazing reflexes. He even gave my son lots of written notes regarding his driving, so he had something to review before the test. They also had a Saturday lesson, so they practiced around the DMV. I m delighted to say that my son passed the test on his first attempt! Derek s instruction truly made a difference and contributed to my son s success. He s kind, patient, focused, and helpful. Thank you!!

Excellent driving instructor. Very laid back instructor but knows when to be firm. Also has very good reaction time, and instructor knows when you are ready or not. I missed 0 errors on my driving test thanks to the proficient tutelage of this driving school. Instructor can be very flexible regarding timing and schedule. Would recommend to all.

Advan driving school instructor Derek is very affirmative when he needs to be and goes through everything you need to know to be able to pass the driving test. He s a good communicator as well as Carly with flexibility on lesson days. I failed my Pasadena dmv due to a bad instructor from LA but I passed with no critical errors from switching to Advan. I learned a lot more when taking lessons at Advan and I recommend this driving school for future new drivers who need a driving instructor. I overall had a great experience! Thanks

Dereck is a great instructor! He s been teaching for awhile now so he knows all the tips and tricks. I did go to another driving school before and it wasn t helpful at all. Advan also made sure to ask me where I was as a driver to prepare me for the best testing experience. It was always a calm and comfortable learning environment. Highly recommend this driving school!

Most new teen drivers are beyond excited to get their driver s license. It s a rite of passage and the first step into adulthood. My job as a parent was to make sure my child is safe and In good hands. Advance driving school was my best choice and put my nerves at ease. We are very satisfied and had the best experience with this driving school. Derek is patient, knowledgeable instructor. Carly and Derek are very professional, accommodating and have great communication skills. I received phone calls or text messages for pickups, drop offs and reminders. Pricing is very reasonable as well. My daughter passed her written and driving test her 1st time. I highly recommend Advan driving school.

Lessons were really helpful and filled with lots of great tips and details! I gained a lot more confidence behind the wheel and felt fully prepared for the test. My turning, traffic checking, acceleration/deceleration control, etc. improved dramatically. Would definitely recommend to those wanting to improve their driving and pass their tests!

I passed my behind the wheel test because Derek was such a professional instructor. I learned a lot from him, from basic to being a defensive driver. And on top of that, Carly, who answers the phone calls was very nice and accommodating. She does the schedules and gave us a reasonable price as well. ADVAN Driving School is highly recommended.

I am highly recommending Sir Derek and ADVAN school as the best driving school in Los Angeles ,California USA. I would like to thank Sir Derek and ADVAN school for helping me to pass my driving test for the first time. He is very nice driving instructor. When I searched or google for the best driving school in Los Angeles California, ADVAN school is the first on the list. So I called up and the lady I spoke was courteous and nice. Their prices are reasonable for 6 hours. Compared to other driving schools. their prices are truly reasonable. I availed the 6 hour combo plus the brush up and use their carb during driving test. Then Derek will pick you up to your home and you can pay him for your lessons. No need to go to their office. During my lesson, he will explain in detail the concept and the right Way of driving in a safely manner. Sometimes I asked him too much questions but he s very cool and gentle. He will explain in detail to let you understand well. Derek is very cool and flexible because I asked him nicely if he can drop me or pick me in my requested locations and he will drop you or pick you in your requested locations . If I call in the office and left voicemail messages to call me back, she would call me back right away.He also built my confidence in driving from residential, side street and esp to freeway. That s why on the test exam I m confident on my driving test though I was quite nervous . Truly, I passed the exam today and I am very happy. That s why I am giving them five stars and certainly recommend them to all from students, first time or who had drivers license in their previous country to get this ADVAN school. Thank you very much Sir Derek and to ADVAN school. Great job

I picked ADVAN driving school because it s close to my house and has great reviews. Honestly, you don t have to actually visit the school to make appointments; it s all through texts and calls so you ll save time. The reception lady is super nice and tells you clear instructions and my driving instructor was Derek (like everyone else lol). Derek is super chill and funny, though he is picky (sometimes). But that s because he really wants you to learn and pass. Better being pointed out your mistakes before than later right? Instruction times were really fun and he gives you straightforward instructions as well. It was an overall really great experience and hope everyone goes to this driving school and get Derek as your instructor!! I passed today on the first try by the way weeeeee w )/

Took driving lessons with an instructor name Dereck. He does a very good job and will show you all the tips to drive better and safer, and be more confident. If you guys wanna be prepare for the driving test, I recommend calling up Dereck, he will explain to you what you re doing wrong and what you re right.

Very friendly and professional instructor, and I had no doubt that I would pass my driving test. They are very fast with their communication and never leave anything left to question. It was very easy to sign up for lessons and I did not have to wait a very long time for an available time slot . Test preparation was vert straightforward and easy to follow/understand. I was given a long amount of time to prepare for my lessons and driving test, and would recommend this place to others.

Very firm but knows when to chill out. Gave lots of tips and was very helpful. Worked around my busy schedule and kept up with safety procedures for COVID. Super understanding and affordable prices for what you get. Passed my driving test on the first try and only had about 4 lessons. Highly recommend!

I'm so glad that I stumbled upon ADVAN Driving School. Dereck was a really helpful driving instructor. Because of his constant reminders and laid-back personality, I was able to learn a lot in such an anxious-free atmosphere. Thanks to Dereck, I was able to pass my driving test on the first try at Glendale DMV! My driving examiner even said I should thank my instructor, haha. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who is in desperate need of an instructor who is worth the price [:

I would highly reccomend ADVAN Driving School as I found they were very professional, helpful, patient and informative. Dereck, my instructor was great at establishing where I needed help and guided me thoroughly. He was able to push me to learn and as a result I passed my test on the first attempt! I'm really grateful for his help. As I hadn't driven or had lessons for a while I also found it helpful when instructor Ryan took my first lesson to ease me back into driving and made me feel confident. Also the entire admin side of my lessons and booking the driving test with the DMV was taken care of for me by the school. Overall I had an excellent experience - Jonathan.

This is going to be a really long review because I want to share how instrumental Advan was in helping me pass my driving test.TLDR: Could not have done it without them! Great value and accommodating to teen drivers or adult learners with a full-time schedule alike.I called Advan after failing my test THREE times. I chalk it up to being a nervous tester and lack of technical direction. My family helped a lot but fell into one of two camps: very careful and technical but too nervous to teach me OR relaxed but could not provide the technical direction. Advan s good reviews made them one of my top choices. I scheduled my first session by phone call and got reminders by text. Throughout three two hour sessions, Derek provided a thorough assessment, lessons on fundamentals, insights, technical guidance, constructive criticism, encouragement and lots of feedback. I was super nervous when the time came to take my test but managed to pass with only two minor errors. I was super happy and wished I had called them from the beginning!As a new driver, I feel safe and have gotten much more comfortable driving. I truly appreciate the help I received!
