The manager at Paul 777 referred me here. Just took my 1974 Chevy Nova in for what I believe to be an exhaust leak. They identified and welded the exhaust leak and told me I had an oil leak also. Referred me to the shop nearby to fix the oil leak. These folks are so personable and down to earth. They didn't even charge me for the repair. I will be bringing it back for another exhaust in a couple of months.

Pele covered the holes that thieves were using to get around the shield I had previously installed. They were quick, polite, and the price was great.

I got estimates for replacement catalyst concert or for $700. A few hours later I got a call from them and they mentioned that I have to pay 950!! After a few minutes talking they $850 cash. Otherwise I should go pick it up and go somewhere else. I m not happy with their service at all. I went there 4 times for doing that job.

I arrived at Peles and they were very welcoming. They were able to put a cage around my catalytic converter right then! Beautiful work kind people and I sure feel a lot safer that someone will not take my catalytic converter again!

Really cool shop that does great quality work! Thieves attempted to steel the cats from my car but must have gotten scared off since they didn't end up taking them. I called Pele's and they told me to come through same day, welded everything up, and had my car back on the road quick. Will be back for any exhaust work in the future.

They performed a job over a year ago. Something went loose and it needed to be fixed. Went back to these guys and told them what the problem was. They stood by their word and fixed the problem. Great service, great staff..

Friendly staff in a laid-back garage next to a much larger collision repair company. Located right off I-80.I needed a cover to protect my catalytic converter from getting stolen on my Prius. It was done very quick and cheaper than other quotes.

I have had the pleasure of coordinating/working with both Lonnie & Natasha at Pele s Mufflers for installing a Catalytic shield for both my wife s Prius and my car as well.They are genuinely friendly, respectful, passionate and extremely honest about their family run business!! When the catalytic converter from my 1998 car was stolen, this shop was recommended by my mechanic. They did an outstanding job. Lagi, the office manager, was diligent and persistent in tracking down the "classic" parts. She kept me informed every step of the way with superior customer service. She's the best! The job was completed quickly and reasonably after they received the parts. I almost never write reviews, but I was so impressed with this business. Highly recommend this shop.Service: Exhaust

This family run business is awesome!!! They take care of their customers. It's first come first serve and the line starts early. They also install catalytic converter protectors. Check with them before you decide on another shop. I'm sure your first meet will convince you that your auto will be in good hands.

I needed a catalytic converter cover/shield installed on my Honda Element asap and called around frantically. Admittedly I passed up Pele's because I didn't see a website, but another business recommended Pele's and I'm so glad they did. Super friendly and professional, great price and did it while I waited. They even took me under the car to show the quality work. Absolutely fantastic and honest business, can't recommend highly enough!

My catalytic converter was damaged, but not stolen. When I asked for a new core charge to be taken off the bill, the owner literally yelled at me. When I asked for the cat back in lieu of that they said the collector had already come- despite them being required to keep the part. In the end, I just gave up. I'm so tired of mechanics like this.

I felt very taken care of by the people here. Lagi was especially helpful, kind, and patient as there was a lot of back and forth trying to figure out what my truck needed to get back on the road after my 2-cat system was stolen. They welded re-bar around it and made sure I knew that was an option. She made sure I got in the day before they closed for Christmas, and my truck only took an afternoon to be squared away. I really appreciated their help and thoroughness. It is easy to potentially get lost in the sauce of their system and im assuming they have a very high volume of clients. It is worth it to call and keep checking in about parts getting ordered and when to come in, because it seems like they have a ton of stuff that they need to be keeping track of at all times.

Me and my girlfriend both brought our cars here and it was quality workmanship. I feel thankful to have found an honest repair shop, the staff were all professional and helpful. Work was done promptly and I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

I don't do reviews often but this shop is worthy of a 100% A+ recommendation. Peles Muffler Works shop is hands down, a high-quality business. When our Honda had its catalytic converter stolen - Honda of Berkeley recommended the shop and said they have the greatest respect for Pele and his crew.From beginning to end (working with our insurance company) - they quickly got us an estimate, and completed the work.The car is a bit old so it was a more complicated process and when we had some difficulty getting the car started after the work - Pele and his staff went out of their way to do some complementary repairs and treated us with amazing kindness and respect.I can not overstate what a wonderful experience it is to be a customer of Peles Muffler Works.After getting hit with a crime, it is a bright spot to come into contact with a business like this - one that does amazing work, on-time, affordable, with 100% guarantee behind it.Really special, good people, doing great work - they treat their customers like gold. People are leaving reviews too soon! I had them install my Cat Converter and for a month everything was fine. Then the check engine light came on! My OBD II says my CV is not performing right. I turn off the light and after a while it comes back on. Luckily I don't need a smog check for 18 months because this car is my OR summer home car and I'll be trading it in long before that - so I'm not going back to Pele's. I paid $300 and it took them less than 15 minutes. If I were you, I'd find another muffler shop to install a CV. Amy muffler shop should be able to do it. Don't fall for the hype.

My catalytic converter was recently stolen from my Honda CRV. I rarely leave reviews, but I am so impressed with the service at Peles! Pele and Marcus were incredibly helpful and kind. They offered quick service (one day turnaround), strong communication, and a great value. If you're in the Bay and currently in need of muffler-related serviced, you 100% should choose Peles. Thanks again!

Thieves attempted to steal the catalytic converter off my 1997 CRV from work parking lot. Luckily they only cut partially thru the pipe before being chased off. Had they got it my only car would be worthless. My fear was they would be back to finish the job.I called Pele's the next day. Although they were at capacity but they told me to bring my car down and they would work it in. By 3pm they had fixed the pipes and installed an anti theft fix on my car. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and the price was much less than I expected.I highly recommend this business.Service: Exhaust

I had a wonderful experience here -- they replaced the catalytic converter on my Prius for $400 less than any other shop I could find, and they included the protective plate. They also gave me $60 off in appreciation of the work I'm doing during this time of shelter-in-place. Very friendly and caring people.

I wanted a catalytic converter shield for my car. The price was reasonable & it didn't take very long to get done. It's best to go there when the shop first opens. Also, the workers were nice as well.

Best car repair experience I have ever had. My engine/exhaust sounded funny and I guessed it was a leaking exhaust. Smog test was coming up and I needed to fix it. Took it to a few shops, some wanted to keep it for a day, and one shop wanted $90 just to look at it. Another shop after listening to the engine thought it was the engine block wanted to bring down the engine!I took it to Pele's Muffler Works, and was lucky enough to arrive when they were taking another car down. One of the employees, after listening to the engine, knew what it was. He put the car on the lift, and there was a big hole in the exhaust. After showing me the leak he gave me a quote to fix it on the spot. He was done in a few minutes. I was more than happy to tip him, as he saved me time and money.Thank you!

Pele fixed my exhaust and installed some theft deterrent on the system to make it more difficult to steal the catalytic converters. He really went above and beyond to help me out. He s also just a super nice guy. And his shop is definitely the only place I ll be taking my vehicles to from now on.

Had an aftermarket cat-back exhaust installed a little over a year ago. It took 45 minutes and for a great price. No problems since, and the owner is a good guy; friendly and personable. Highly recommended for quick, cheap, and quality exhaust installs.

They replaced my catalytic converter ($1400!)The next morning when I started it, it had a loud rattle. I took it back, the young guy doing the welding chuckled and said "yeah I forgot to insert the inside sleeve." I recently had my clutch replaced and the mechanic told me that there was no flex pipe installed on my exhaust system. (Which was there before I had my catalytic converter replaced), He said that that can Crack the exhaust manifold, by not allowing the motor to torque, which is very expensive to repair. So I took it back again and they told me I had to pay another $250 to have it done!! That it wasn't included!!!!!Don't ever take your car to these people!Service: Exhaust

Friendly and helpful service, quick written estimate for insurance claim for stolen catalytic converter. I hope my converter is never stolen again, thanks to their anti theft shield, but if it is, I'll bring it here again.
