Have you ever run into somebody that is a negative Nelly? That would be the owner.. my car is low, he said it wasn't going to fit on the Lift.. and he said he would have to charge me extra because he would have to use a jack (really)? But, nobody told the mechanic as he started lifting my car on the lift. It was clearly up in the air and he told him to put it down. He told me my body is too high for the lift.. he just told me my car was too low???(what does that mean? )I had four tires to put on and he started whining about the tires were too wide in the front and it wasn't going to work and I should do my homework and not question his 30 years of experience.. I was tired of the I can't do attitude so I opted to just get the rear tires on. He charged me $160 just to put the tires on that I bought.. the next day I went to Best American tire and brake in Albany, pulled right up they changed my tires they had a can-do attitude, Mount and balanced for $50 bucks and guess what? I did do my homework the front tires fit perfectly and they didn't charge me extra to use a jack to jack up my car.. Saw your reply, Still Whining.. Here's a picture.. now you see what I can do attitude can accomplish and it was $100 cheaper for the same service

Needed new tires quickly for a trip to the mountains. Considered Costco but it's a hassle having to order tires, wait for delivery and then make an appointment for installation. Searched around and found El Cerrito Tires who had my tires in stock and installed in under two hours at a very reasonable price with very friendly service as well. Quite impressed!

I've been here a few times over the years. They do honest, good work and are open to feedback. My tires have been well taken care of and service is fast, very reasonably priced. I would recommend.

Great service, upfront pricing, quick work. I had a nail in my tire that pulled me off my route. El Cerrito Tires & Auto Body responded quickly to my text (as instructed from their voicemail greeting) and I dropped in and was back on my way within 30 minutes. Great shop with friendly service. This has been my go to place for some time. They are used to all sorts of vehicles including high end rims and tires so I feel really comfortable with them doing the work. I highly recommend them.

I had my Rav4 15K mile maintenance done at El Cerrito Tires . Ken was honest and very helpful explaining what's needed and with price. No surprises.

Ken says, No gimmicks, no specials, just great tires at a great price. He went on to prove his point this morning; great prices on tires and installation with alignment in less than 2 hours (with an appointment scheduled yesterday, of course).Again, I ll be back!(leaving my review from a couple of years ago up) Steve and crew make a person feel as though their vehicle really is special... waiting for a friend's car (minor repair) I noticed just how much it means to have one's possession treated in this manner. The other customers, who came and went while I waited, had their troubles addressed and treated with genuine concern. This is the mark of a good business. The work done on my friends car was excellent... even replaced the bulb in a running light at no charge.

I brought my car in twice in the last 4 months for breaks, oil changes, and alignment. Both times I drove my car off their lot after being serviced, it had loud clicking/knocking/ squeaking sounds that weren t present when I brought it in. Both times it was mechanical error and then lack of test driving afterwards to ensure the work was done correctly and safely. No apologies for wasting my time both times to have to bring it back in to be corrected on another day. Don t waste your time or money here, their bottom line isn t about quality work or ensuring your vehicle is safe to drive after they service it, it s surely about money.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tire rotations, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change

Fast, competent, and reasonably priced. Steve is awesome! I am nervous to bring my cars into the mechanics and if there s a job I can do, I ll usually do it myself but Steve completely changed my mind! He s so professional, honest, and affordable, and quick! And easy to communicate. Couldn t ask for a better mechanic so close to my home too!

Steve and his crew have really helped us many times by promptly and diligently repairing roadside hazards to our tires so we can get back on the road. They have also performed many needed services beyond tires to my cars over the years including alignments, oil changes, bearings, struts, air conditioner repair, and more. They are prompt and very professional, and have very reasonable prices without nickel-and-dimming you. I ve recommended many others to them who have been very pleased with their no-nonsense work as well. I highly recommend El Cerrito Tires.

Steve and his team at ECT are as trustworthy as it gets when dealing with car repairs. I bought a used Subaru from them a few years back and have bringing it in for any and all maintenance ever since. They ve always acted quickly to fit me in, Steve is incredibly friendly and responsive, and most importantly, the work is quality and very fairly priced. I can t recommend this shop enough.

I don t know about the other services they provide here but I tried to go here to patch my tire and they said it was going to be $50 and that some places charge $80, just to patch a tire . All the other places I have been to patch my tire have all been ~15-20

I am in no way connected with this business, but I have had excellent, polite and prompt service. I bought tires for my '81 Fiat ...maybe 2 years ago. I was losing air in one and I hadn't driven it much due to COVID and having other vehicles. I thought I had a puncture. They checked it. I had rust on the rim which affected the seal. They cleaned it up impressively - I saw them do it. They set all my tires to be the same. Since I bought the tires there the charge for a good amount of fussing with that tire? $0. The guy that runs the place knows cars, too. It's a cool shop and I'm glad I settled on them.Service: Tires

Steve and crew are awesome! I have been coming in for oil changes, tires and regular maintenance for a few years now, and my SUV has 244k miles and still going strong. Their prices are very fair, they explain things in terms I understand, and my car is ready when they say it's going to be ready. I have never felt taken advantage of like I have at other shops. In fact, they are so honest, they actually won't do the work until it's actually necessary. What a difference from the service department at El Cerrito Honda where the disorganization, high pressure sales tactics, and high prices aggravated me for too many years...never again! You won't be anxious about going to the mechanic again if you patronize this locally-owned business: El Cerrito Tire and Auto Body.

Came here on a referral from a friend. Was in need of a trustworthy mechanic so decided to give them a try. Met Diego who went through everything with me and what the estimate would be. Afterward when i picked up i met the owner too who was also friendly and talkative. Tested out my car and it was running good again. Glad I gave them a look. This place was recommended to me by my former mechanic (Rob, who is sadly no longer in business) and I'm glad he did. Their staff is friendly and helpful and their prices are very reasonable, AND they don't charge me to rotate my tires even though I didn't get them there! Amazing IMO in today's (Bay Area) economic landscape.

Thought I had previously written a review, came back to edit, and notice I didn t write down my experience. Just lowered 1 star, although I believe they can be a 4 or higher, as they seem to attempt to do a good job. However, there is always a bad apple. Purchased tires, great deal, great service. Return for routine rotations, tires are marked to track rotation. No special tread or need, I just like to follow a particular pattern. Attendant has now told me twice, it doesn t matter how you rotate them, but if client wants it like that they will. By this I thought they would actually do it. But they proceeded to do their standard rotation. Some people just don t care to really uphold the integrity of their work. Some employees just don t know how they hurt all the effort business owners put into their company.

Great place for all of your auto needs. From mechanical work to tires ti auto body. I've used them for even and never had an issue. Great knowledge, great service, and most importantly, value for your money.

They checked the wheel alignment on my car and told me it was in spec. They told me to go back to where I bought my tires and have them rebalanced. They only charged me a minimum service charge rather than for a full alignment which I didn't need. Nice that they are so honest and helpful

Friendly, honest and thorough. I especially appreciate that they listened to my concerns about the car, and investigated instead of dismissing them outright (which has happened to me on more than one occasion in the past). I'll be going here regularly from now on.

showed up to get a quote about a small fender bender i had been in and had to wait upwards of half an hour before being helped. when I was helped I was quoted at least 500$ for what was supposedly serious frame damage. the attendant i talked to justified this by saying the headlight was cockeyed. when i brought it to another shop the new fender i had (which el cerrito tire refused to use) went straight on. the headlight housing in the bumper was toast but the frame was absolutely fine and the repair cost me the entirety of 80$. I don t typically do reviews but i felt extremely disrespected and unhappy with my service at el cerrito tire. there were several instances throughout my conversation with the attendant where he was rude and dismissive. do not come here unless you want to deal with rude employees who are out to rip you off.

The tires I need are no longer available so they ordered comparable tires which arrived same day. Tires were put on within an hour. Excellent service all around.

Nice, funny staff. Went in with a nail in my tire which another shop said was not repairable and I would need all new tires. El Cerrito Tires took the time to show me where the nail was (close to sidewall) but said if they got inside the tire and had an inch they could fix it. The mesage from both shops were the same so I don't question the honesty of the first shop. However, the importance of taking the time and trying which El Cerrito Tires did resulted in a patch vs four new tires on my AWD which saved me $$$. When my tires are due for a replacement, I will take my car there.

Straightforward shop that works fast to get you back on the road. Very reasonable costs. Bit pushy about getting you to stick with them, which it isn't necessary since they do a good job and that should speak for itself.
