Alex is awesome. Super helpful and knowledgeable on inspecting a honda odyssey, before purchase. Provides real-world advice regarding use and probable lifespan of parts. He is helpful and works hard. I will be returning for him to work on my car.

The best local mechanic! Alex is both knowledgeable and honest, and will give his best advice and options for what needs to be done. You can trust him to do what's necessary, without up-selling work or overcharging. Not the cheapest shop, but the prices are fair for quality work, and worth it. Call in advance to schedule, if you can - the shop is often very busy, but turnaround times are reasonable.

I've been coming to Alex's shop for a few years, now - and I'm pleased to say that my previous review still stands. Alex and Greg are both friendly and helpful, and do great work for a fair price. I have had both of my cars serviced and repaired here, and I've always had a positive experience. 100% recommend this shop - they're the best in Alameda, and they genuinely care about their customers.----Alex is very knowledgeable, honest, and professional. He won't upsell you on work you don't need or want, and will give a straightforward opinion and advice if you ask questions. His prices are reasonable, and if you need work done that he can't perform, he'll provide you with a solid referral. He does good work and is communicative throughout the process. I highly recommend this shop.

Best Auto shop in the Bay hands down! Alex has outstanding customer service and always shoots you straight. He stays going above and beyond and is just all around good peoples. So hard to find a car mechanic that you can trust. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for professional and friendly service. Have used Sam as my mechanic for 10+ years, never had any issuea. The shop stays busy but he always has been able to make time for me. His son Alex has taken the reins and the interactions I have had make me feel like the same quality will continue to be provided.Thanks Sam for all your great service!! Enjoy retirement

Update: More good experiences with AK Auto. I'll be back whenever our family needs automotive work, thanks for your help Alex! --------------previous review---------They seem honest, and are within walking distance to our house. We've had 60,000 mile service on the Element, several oil changes, minor belt fixes, and brake work done. I would recommend them.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Excellent service all around! We ve been bringing our cars here for repairs and maintenance for several years now. Alex is friendly, helpful, and his prices are reasonable - a welcome change from the dealer s service shop where we used to bring our cars. Highly recommended!

Alex likes to drive some of the nice fast cars down Pacific really fast speedThe base is down the street smh. Hope my kid never runs into the street when this guy is fixing up a car test driving it. And he says he can smog cars on the low I told him I rather fix it the right way. Some of these comments are unbelievable upfront front pricing means he charges you alot still. Alex isn t honest.

I can not recommend this place based on the service I received. I gave them a very short list of issues and to not have the them all done is unacceptable. The bottom line price reflected the total job that should have been done not the 2/3 job that was accomplished. The I ll charge you for a few repairs that will eventually lead to discovering your needed fix , mentality is unacceptable. Auto repair is not surgery that requires extensive diagnostics and I m not buying it. Unfortunately I recommend going elsewhere.Unhappy CustomerService: General repairs & maintenance
